  • The unemployment rate among non-Aboriginals would sky rocket if any government program worked? Wonder why nothing gets better when government and his lackys design and implement everything, thats the REAL Aboriginal industry, people need to stop making money off Aboriginal disadvantage! I would join the army but if your not white or a women your not welcome, imagine if aussies had a reason to whinge? Our poor ears

  • when you do not understand the language the govt is using it is EXTRINSIC FRAUD -= to take advantage of... you can search for the legal definition... it also makes any contract null & void when done under threat, intimidation & duress... this is just a means to steal the land & appear to be justified in doing so... nothing has changed from the beginning with Cook's Secret Orders & letters of Marque

  • Incredible story.

  • These communites have problems that have been created by racist governments & their cohorts.Keeping the Aboriginal communites down whilst thier mineral resources are stolen & shipped to the highest bidder. The recipients of the enormous wealth derived from this theft are living at lavish non Aboriginal communites at Gold Coast & the like.Wake up Aboriginal Australia.

  • @casting4325 - you are so correct - it is all about diminishing these people to steal what they actually have always owned & always will own using the colour & force of law under the Crown system - what about the laws of these peoples who have walked this land for thousands of years before... doesn't their law count? The ignorance & arrogance of the govt criminals makes me ill...

  • If Aboriginal people cant run their own lives how do u explain thousands of years of survival? Some of this stuff does happen in communities but not all. Where it does happen the traditional laws have broken down because the police interfere in traditional punishments. And others bring in drugs and alcohol to ruin the minds of the young before they have grown. Go live ther for 6 months then have an opinion.

  • I lived there for a year with my work, so I CAN speak! I also lived in Darwin for many years too. Don't lecture me on the Aboriginals "survived" or on trible law. When the young boys get done for rape, the RUN to the police in fear of trible law!, but when they want to shoot a crock and sell the skull to tourists for $2000, then they play the " TribleRights" song. Read what the NT news wrote about Aboriginal women and how their faces are so smashed they looked like squashed Tomatoes.

  • wow a year..that doesnt say anything bro..I spent half my life in the NT..and worked all over arnhemland and central..and alot of these small towns r run by 'aussies' who cant get jobs nywhere else in OZ..and some r amongst the most redneck u'l meet. people that r there 4 there own interest. how can aboriginal people make steps forward, if they r constantly being restricted, and undermined.

  • @cunnamullafalla for instance ATSIC!! if the people running ATSIC were so corrupt, why not replce just those peoples instead of scrapping the whole organisation and programs attached to it such as CDEP..which was givin so many youth work and hope. the government blatantly r trying to take thier voice away?! I went to Maningrida festival 2mnths ago..a rtown of 2000 people at best, dry community, yet their were nt police, federal police, child patrol, nite patrol..it was beyond a joke and still is

  • @cunnamullafalla clearly...removing outstations and moving people to bigger towns will cause more problems..and is clearly a land grab..look at the mining boom and these greedy beuracrats..trying any excuse to get land... I live in Melbourne..and people r allowed to catch trams, walk the streets wit there alcohol no hassles, tho I'm sure if ur land was taken and ur children stolen, ud start drinkin too. So do u think centralisin is goin to work?! Umm No....ABORIGINAL PEOPLE STAND UP!!

  • @cunnamullafalla also remember the existing towns r earlier versions of centralisation attempts, for purposes of control and taking land. ..if anything land should be given back, and indigenous people should be advisers to govrnments in regard wit anythin to do with land. Why u think the murrays runnin dry, and fires r goin out of control?! because the people now in control havent a clue!! Nyway..Karma comes back around...hence the bushfires, floods and dustorms!?

  • Well, i was one of the troops that went out to the so called "camps" and i can verify that the kids live in filth. There IS child sex going on constantly and DONT LIE by trying to cover it up. The sooner they close these camps down the better. I hate John Howard, but i am sure glad he did this on his way out.

  • well if u believe that the camps should be shut down for this reason, why shouldn't the same apply to the rest of Australia. iincase u havnt noticed, all u hear on the news is, peadophile here, incest there drunken brawls evry weekend, kids crashin cars coz they'e drunk, in mainstream Australia, so unless u want to b labelled a hypocrite...shldn't the same apply to everyone?! or r we just gonna admit that the "intervention" is a blatantly racist reason to have more control of people and land?

  • On my God, you have to be joking, NOWHERE in Australia will you find the same level of filth, poverty and lack of care for the kids than in these communities. I'm not even going to address your reply as its so off the mark, that its not funny. I'd love it if you came with me and offered to live there for a year and THEN you can talk. I DID live there for a year, i hated it, and believe it should be shut down and the locals moved to one larger single town. You have no idea what your on about!

  • Time to stand up Aboriginal Australia. We shouldn't have to take this crap anymore.

  • Stay strong my sisters and brothers. The gov. will eat you up and take your land and hide you as far away as they can, they will lie to the world and tell them you "sold" it just like the US gov. has done to the indigenous peoples of the Americas. Very sad on the reservation in America. Many helpless, hopeless people on alcohol and drugs being brought to them by people with no souls.

  • SO your right - we were the first - though our Government was devious enough to realise our system would prevail if we didn't apply a label.Better yet, we have made bunches of ever changing laws that proclaim that they are "here to help", shaking hands with the right and sifting strychnine through the flour with the left.

  • Quite right Johnathonswift, and thank you for pointing this out. I now understand that in the 1930's South Africa sent a delegation to Queensland to see how we "..deal with the blacks". After they returned, South Africa contrived and implemented Apartied.

  • Please don't bother replying to this if your just going to tell me how wonderful the mineral industry is, or how aboriginal people can't manage their lives - THEY CAN. Where success has been you will find community decisions, and where there is no success, it is usually because of outside interfeerence, government or otherwise. Aboriginal communities are filling up with white people - there for no other purpose than to make money. If you wan't to contend this, best state your agenda.

  • Theres a lot of people talking about what aboriginal people do and don't need. What they should and shouldn't do. How about listening to the experts - the people themselves. The racist condition in Australia needs to be addressed urgently, lest we are recognised by the world as the next "South Africa".

  • 'next' South Africa? Australia is the original South Africa

  • There is a lot of opinion about this issue but unless it is done within the historical context, it is just opinion. If you have never visited an aboriginal community, then maybe you should start listening to those very people and what they have to say.

  • We gave Aboriginal people hope 30 years ago with the homeland movement. Now we're taking it away, not only in the face of empirical evidence linking homelands with health, but in the face of opposition by the people we are supposed to be protecting.

  • if we dont use the tools to better educate ourseleves then we will always be looked down on. We have to use these things to make us stronger and stop taking advantage of the system or they will take it away from us ( think ATSIC ) come on my people stop feeling sorry for ourselves and show WHITE AUSTRALIA that we are just as good if not better

  • why dont we take what they give us and use it against them instead of fighting against each other over who has what i come fom a poor family and lived in a differentt town away from my traditional lands and i saw how aboriginal corporations are run they are run by people who only interestedin themselves and then when my family went back we were outsiders

  • Business mate. I know it sucks, but the disparity in jobs, and especially control of jobs, must be addressed. And it can only be done if Aboriginal people control all of the aspects of it - from ownership, through management all the way down to the cleaner. It is time to put old tired feuds down, ignore those who are not working for community and justice, and just get on with it. Survival with dignity is paramount. Stay strong.

  • I agree with u2hubbard. White people wants the whole world, grabbing everything they can to own it. All I can say is keep fighting it. May Creator bless you all.

  • everyone knows that australias relationship with their natives, is poor - probably sub poor. I am a big advocate for aboriginal rights however land is the least of their worries when, for example, their life expectancy is well below city dwellers etc.

For those blaming Howard, get off your bike. Howard merely stands in a long line with Liberal and Labor leaders who have contributed to the current predicament.

  • its not a land grab because the government already has the power to access any aboriginal reserve if it has minerals that are of use to the economy.

  • The lie to us and then lie to themselves about lying to us.

    Cant trust even one.

  • When will you black fallas wake up and just don,t vote just dont Vote for any of the evil Political bastards..

  • White people, they always got to lie to take over someones land now a days. Just like they did with Iraq. They got to create propaganda among the masses of their people to get public approval to go conquer more land, because doing it the direct way if no longer fashionable. All it is, is old fashion White Imperialism. White people. And guess what you sensitive ass whiny White people, I'm White. I'm a White male and I am sick of what our race has do to people of color in the world.

  • @u2hubbard

    uve been brainwashed

  • @u2hubbard I don't like the way you say "white people". You can't lump everyone together like that. By your logic, Serbians and Basques are Imperialists.

  • One word: eugenics!

    Thanks for posting!

  • keep up the fight

  • "Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle. And so we must straighten our backs and work for our freedom. A man can't ride you unless your back is bent." Martin Luther King, Jr.

  • i will make sure you message gets out to native aboriginal people in the west .

  • Hey friend. Try to refer to this Law. May be a good reference: Article VII of the Helsinki Final Act 1975 and Article 20 of the African Charter of Human and Peoples' Rights as well as the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Territories and Peoples (I think it applies to all indigenous people)

    Good video man

  • comments on here are very disappointing... lets just give these communities lots of money to look after themselves because god only knows that they are living lives that they should be proud of.. Most of the people who have commented would be the same people who jumped on the 'Free Schappelle, she is Innocent!" band wagon..

  • lol you doofus.

way to go, categorizing white drug traffickers in the same box as Aboriginal people.

Money would indeed help these communities to lead lives which they would be proud of. So far the money that has been 'given' to them has been held back by the government and no housing has been built - not one house. You can verify this in the media.

  • It's not about money it is about respect, self-determination and autonomy - money (as in corporate mining interests) IS the problem!

  • I remember when Jenny Macklin was Education Minister, when I worked in that field. She was lower than a snake and only cared about her own "fame"!Looks like she hasn't changed!

  • Don't be fooled by the UN. They say one thing and do another. Check out David Icke on youtube for the real history of the world and what is really behind all this. Good luck.

  • its sad and something should be done

  • Surprise!Surprise!Sadly, like Barbara, this has only reinforced my view, that it was never about caring for kids - or women either.Howard govt had???reports, conversations with indigenous women about Domestic Violence(I remember them vividly)-he did nothing-just an opportunity for some photo shoots-never about caring for people.Every man has been collectively accused of abusing kids. How disgusting! What 'goodies' are under that ground? How many applications for mining are before the govt?

  • How can we as a global community tolerate this? How can we help raise this issue?

  • mummydelights - Spread the word!Send this video to another 3-5 people! That's the only way this will stop! I'm going to start with ABC Lateline-that's where all this negative media coverage started! Shame on them!

  • Good idea. Thanks.

    I will.

    This is intolerable!

  • The government did the same thing here in the USA to the Native American tribes. As long as we don't raise HELL over this type of abuse it will continue to happen. Very sad to see.

  • Hone Harawira my MP stopped into see them and he helped to bring this the worlds attention, because when the Ozzies saw that a Maori MP was coming from NZ to check it out, it made them say "What the hell!".

  • Figures on child molestation have been fixed , all lies what a way to get the Rest of Australians to go OHHH wow thats real bad umm we have to go and take over the Aboriginals land

    Howard/Rudd evil fucking liars !!!

  • And as she said, they found no pedophile rings. This never made the news. We only hear propaganda in Australia and while the PM says sorry, he continues to abuse Aboriginal people. That is the ultimate betrayal. The ultimate insult to the traditional land owners of Australia.

  • I did calaculations on relatively conservative statistics on child serxual abuse in Western Society (1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men) and in fact more of the non-indigenous Australian population have been sexually abused than the whole indigenous population of Australia (2% of the population)

  • And when Hitleristic-Howard launched the fgascist Intervention he said (in relation to child sexual abuse) "If this were happening in Dickson (a suburb of Canberra) we would do the same..."

The fact is it IS happening in every suburb in Australia but patriarchal culture cloaks it like domestic violence and our androcentric legal system is incapable of addressing it !

  • of course its a land grab full of rich minerals the white blokes can sell, it makes me sick.

  • Of course. They didn't even think to discuss this with the traditional land owners. Did it occur to them that the Aboriginal people might have agreed to a partnership in the profit. But no. The Australian Government wants the companies to take everything. Even if the companies are owned by the Chinese. So protecting Aboriginals from "pedophilia", they force abuse of land, culture and spirit. White vampires!

  • It's so outrageous how they justify doing these things!

  • They say we signed are landover happily too, it's what they do, they santize the language so it looks like anythig but what it actually is, ....theft... genocide

  • The world is listening to Professor Anaya, why isn't Australia? In the context of the coming apartheid in Australia the apology to the Stolen Generations is disingenuous to say the least. Do governments take people for fools?
