notice the word 'Star' doesn't appear anywhere on the bike? that's because the Star line and the Vmax have nothing to do with each other except that Yamaha makes both. the Star line are a group of V-twins based on the Virago engine and the Vmax is a Vfour. There is no such thing as a 'Star Vmax'. There ARE a Star, Road Star, Royal Star and a V Star. The Vmax is not any relation. lifelong yammy owner here, i know what i'm talking about.

I personally like the lobbing distinctive sound of a harley v-twin (not a metric v-twin or especially a sprotbike the sounds more like a whining baby) however, I like all kinds of bikes foreign or domestic. I like the vmax because it has the combination of a cruiser and a sportbike and beats any american bike. the japanese really went all out this time on this bike and I give them props for it.
