The Chrysler 300 is based on the rear-wheel drive Chrysler LX platform which features components derived from the W210 Mercedes-Benz E-Class of 1996 to 2002. Shared components include the rear suspension design, front seat frames, wiring harnesses, steering column, the 5-speed automatic transmission's design, and a derivative of the 4Matic all-wheel drive system. The Chrysler 300 also features a double wishbone front suspension that is derived from the W220 Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
lol at 8:10 wen he first starts accelerating a car was coming up in the divers side mirror and was about to pass but then he pts his foot down and hes fuckin gone!!! eyy i was wondering if this car is still for sale?
nah....he just does a couple good acceleration clips in each vid....all the cars he reviews are made for performance anyways, so I wouldn't call it beating on them
a nice car but too much plastic and bad quality overall, if you are more interested in luxury rather than speed, for the same money you have better options
@leadsologtoctsv how is it a piece of shit? it has over 400 horsepower, goes 0-60 in 5.2 seconds, does the quarter in 13.4, and has a top speed of 170+ MPH. how can this car possibly be anything close to a "piece of shit"?
@leadsologtoctsv The new CTS-V is supercharged. And this 300C SRT8 is naturally aspirated. So just slapped in a supercharger or a turbo and it'll beat the new CTS-V (not that i don't hate on the CTS-V; i actually like it). Not only that, the new 6.4L that'll come out for the next-gen 300, Challenger, Charger and Grand Cherokee will be naturally aspirated too. So yeah, not exactly game over if you ask me
Trouble is with bmw and benz mate they all look the same like robots driving around, bit like the drivers - SRT street racing technology, true American racing performance and muscle

Your American Car built chrysler and Charger built off Benz frame get that in your head srt-4 has european tranny and mitsubishi turbo on it get that Tru American crap out of here how gonna say American when dont even use American parts
you are right lol. Mercedes took over Chrysler itself. Chrysler owns Jepp and Dodge. So Mercedes bought Chrysler and its subsidaries so yes Jepp was owned by Benz for a while
Actually, I have to make a correction: The two companies merged but Mercedes eventually bought more shares of Chrysler. So yes, Mercedes did own majority share of Jeep. If you purchase a diesel Jeep the engine is a Mercedes engine.
I'm American and I agree, the interior wasn't great, but the power and features that you got for the price was amazing, and thats why people love them. I assume your French, or French-Canadian?
I used to have a 300C and loved it. Exterior styling was breathtaking for a sedan - a real wolf in sheep's clothing. But the interior materials were average at best, and well below average in the rear. Seats also gave me backache after more than an hour.
This car was made when Mercedes owned Chrysler and most of the main parts were borrowed from old Mercedes platforms. German cars are often over rated, look at any VW and the reliability is horrible and Ford and Chrysler are catching up in terms of design and fit and finish. This car was a good idea but a bad execution, they should have used better quality parts and a little bit tighter design and this would have sold amazingly. Too bad Chrysler may go out of business, they have potential.
dapimpdan you are an idiot. Mercedes-Benz purchased Chrysler in 1998 to become DaimlerChrysler and sold it to Cerebus in 2007 for $7 billion. Why don't you do some research before you post on here and look like a complete dumbass.
Unfortunately the residual value on the SRT-8 300s has diminshed to an almost embarrasing level. That car new was $46,745. Today, it's worth anywhere from 24 - 27K depending on what the buyer is willing to pay. I own the same car, paid sticker for it in January '06 and don't regret it at all. I do not agree with current values but that's out of my control. People buying these used today are getting a LOT of vehicle for the money. The reviewer is great. Only thing missed was Autostick.
i have the 3.5L V6 model and it performs very well, obviously not as well as a srt8 but i live in a mountainous region and it sticks to the road, the wheel stays strait if i let got of it and go over bumps and things that is how tight the steering is!
I own an SRT8 Ram, as well as had a chance to drive most of the SRT line up at the DriveSRT Experience available free for anyone that purchases a new SRT or general public for around $500 USD.
Comparitively, the 300C and Charger are very similar in performance with similar ratings, however many of us noticed the Charger's steering is lose (oversteer) compared to the 300C, which is much more on the neutral side, probably because of the 300C longer wheelbase.
Hey nevermissclancom - Obviously you didn't read my TYPO correction that I made regarding my typo that I had a RAM SRT8. I posted that correction 4 months ago. I said I have a RAM SRT10. I typoed my first post. I'm sure you would not have replied that I made a mistake in my post if you read my correction that I have an RAM SRT10 Shortbed, not a RAM SRT8, which does not exist.
No problem. As for the 6.1, it would be nice, but with more HP, they need to change other things to accomodate, such as suspension, breaks, etc. You can also opt to get the 6.3L crate motor, but it comes without engine management and would need to go with an aftermarket to gain that and tie it into the existing vehicle. Me, I'm waiting for 2010's 300C SRT8 or Jeep SRT8 with the 6.3L 500HP option, well at least rumor has it. We'll see... In the meantime, I'm still having fun with my Ram SRT10.
I had the privelage of racing an SRT10 on the HWY today. That thing kept up with me quite well. It's amazing that a truck can do that. You enjoy it man.
Thanks. They are fast. I look at it as the truck is really not a truck, but it does have a truck body that's really a high performance machine under the disguise of a truck! Read up on the specs. It's a heck of an engineering feat they put into it.
Yeah, the 300c is actually a really tight car. But I don't know if the dogde charger is better then the chrysler. They use the same engines but I can't decide which one is better.
I own the 300c SRT8 and gotta say its straight-line-abilities are awsome (i live in Germany - it killed a limited M5 the other day)
But the cornering is just SHIT.
Seriously, stearing is far too soft and inaccurate and the seats are made for Americans, and not for the average European if you know what i mean. They are totally unable to hold sb. in place if you turn the wheel.
But honestly I LOVE this car, if only they could get rid of their plasticfetish...

The 300c srt8 is stylish, its a mixture of everything, a lil powerful with style i love it.
texmademex13 3 years ago
Oh, tough choice.
I think the 300c is more of a pimp mobil with a good portion of understatement, it's HUGE and the side-view is just awsome.
The Charger is more of a GT-Car, it doesn't try to hide what it's got.
I didn't get to drive a charger yet, maybe they improved the stearing, seats and throttle response I was complaining about in the 300c.
Anyway I am shure that because of the charger being leighter and shorterit is probably more fun on twisty roads.
But if u are a cruiser, take the 300c
