really curly/coarse/textured hair does not need 450+ degrees on the flat iron nor passing the iron 4-5 times. one time, when done correct, is all u need. is just about making sure its deep conditioned n technique. not heat. this is why i don't got to white stylists.
thnx for the tips, really useful, luv your hair, looks really good, Imma practice that with my Karmin G3 Salon Pro which leaves my hair soft, shiny and super straight :D
it won't kill you if you don't use heat protectant spray, but if you use a straightener/curler constantly with no protectant spray, you will end up with split ends :$ learned this from my own personal experience Dx
i'm referring to my situation here: all the people saying her hair is already straight, that doesn't matter. my hair is extremely thick, so it always looks poofy. i recently started using a straightener to make it not look poofy. that is probably her reason.
Man all the comments about "your hair was already straight" She is showing us how to do it at home. If your hair is straight then you wouldn't be bothering to do it. This tutorial has made it so easy for me now to do my hair in 15mins instead of 30 - 45. Thanks heaps
If you want a professional flat iron and you are ok with spending around $140 I would highly recommend the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it heats up to 450f with temperature control, dual voltage, tourmaline ceramic plates with rounded edges which makes it great for also curling your hair. Also has a 3 year warranty. If you do look at other irons make sure to stay away from irons with painted plates (colored plates) these can damage your hair.
To all the people who are talking about her already straight hair, yeah people with straight hair use flat irons too, to tame fly aways, and to make the hair smooth and sleek.
@cristina45557 dude chill it's not like they're advertising for the flat iron. they're teaching you HOW to flat iron your hair, straight, curly or wavy hair.
i think you should use ur flat iron on natural hair. The results would be much more impressive. PLUS i've seen natural hair women on youtube w/ beautiful results!
i have a ghd flat iron with pretty curly and thick hair. i'm able to straighten my hair very well, but my front layers curl a bit inward at the bottom throughout the day. could you tell me how to avoid this? is there a specific hairspray you recommend? thanks!!
um when i straighten my hair its hurts and when my mom does it on the back cause I can't reach it from there does that means i have damaged hair? Also i have layered hair and i straighten my hair it's not like together it's more separate and it looks weird O.o
her hair was already pretty straight before she even flat ironed it. misikko should have a differnt guide for flat ironing for differnt hair types (curly, coarse, wavy etc.) because it might be different for everyone. other then that it was a good video.
hey! there are so many products to use for straightening. I've found for extremely curly hair paul mitchell has a great product it has a bright green top and in a white bottle. There is also an amazing product called morocan oil i use this on myself and so many clients. It cuts the blowdry time 40% and adds a lot of shine. Morocan oil also has a creme for curly hair its also very good. You can also try rusk str8 thats a good one too! I hope this helps!
yes I know.. the videos purpose was to show everyone how to flat iron their OWN hair. unfortunately I do not have curly hair.. would love it if i did! You always want what u don't have! lol In the video I try to explain what extra things you can do if your hair is extremely curly as im demonstrating ion my hair.
depending on how thick your hair is and how curly really determines how long.. for me from start to finish blowdrying and flatironing about a half hour maybe a little less.
For right now thats all Misikko wanted me to do.. I would love to do more but they just wanted basic videos for their customers. I would love to do more! haha
Well i guess it depends how smooth you want your hair to look.. id say 9 out of 10 of my clients with straight hair still use a flat iron..Arielle has a point it depends how much you care about your appearance and if you want to take the extra time or even think its worth it!
@gymnast725 right, a lot of people with straight hair don't realize how much damage they're already adding to their hair. True.. it's damaging for all hair types, but it's usually people with straight hair who flat irons it almost every day, which isn't healthy.
can the flat iron burn out if its ceramic cuz my mom wont let me use it anymore because she thinks it will burn out. Because i have one just like that.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
ummm. you're hair is like REALLy straight already dude... wtf. straightening is for wavy/curly hair. and you're dress is too dressy for a vide hun, try again next time :)
Actually most flat irons or any heating tool go up higher than that. Hair is pretty strong but since you don't want to damage it, you use the heat protectant. If you don't use a heat protectant you will be burning and damaging your hair.
you like a girl for who she is not straight her hair is...it's good to do your hair but not very good to be too obsessed with it. if you use the iron frequently , your hair will be very brittle....
What flat iron did you use in this video? Also, what flat iron would you recomend for someone with semi-straight, fine hair with just a little bit of wave that is under 100 dollars? By the way, great video. Thanks.
In her other video, the 601 one, she says not to put the flat iron to the highest heat setting if you have curly hair, but here she says to put it up to the highest heat setting. Caught ya red handed.
1. What do you mean when you say, "either are fine?"
2. In this video, you're using a flat iron that is not as hot as the one in the other video?
I am a guy who is growing my hair out long for the first time in my life, so things most girls learn early on I'm learning now. I also have naturally curly/really wavy hair. Actually the top is pretty straight but the fringes, especially in the back, are curly. You have straight hair naturally, before flat ironing.
3. Last one. Do you shampoo your hair everyday or every few days? I've read it depends on hair type. And do you condition each time you shampoo? I sometimes forget to condition. I've also read that shampooing in general is bad for hair, and the real purpose is, like pharmaceuticals, to earn money for companies. I've read natural shampoo or soap is ideal. What do you think of anti-dandruff shampoo or vinegar for hair health? Also, do you flat iron in the morning or at night?
shampoo your hair every few days..if its curly, shampoo less...my hair is super curly and i shampoo every three days. Condition your hair daily...Natural shampoos are generally better for your hair because they dont have all of the extra non-necessary products that regualr shampoos do, like fragrance and extra chemicals. Its better to flat iron in the morning, because if you do it at night and then wrap your hair, you'll have to do touch ups in the morning, and that is extra heat you dont need.
Is a VS ceramic hair straightener a good one ? Cause i wanna buy it, and yours looks really good, my old one doesn't stay in shape when i do this. So, please answer my question.
I have a VS 1" ceramic and it gets my curly/wavy hair completely straight. I've never tried a Chi or Sedu or GHD but those are more expensive. Whether them being more expensive means they're better is debateable. I guess the only difference would be is how hot they heat up to.
well first of all you have such a beautfull hair but to be honest i really like the before hair but u look beuatfull with the after too

shampoo your hair every few days..if its curly, shampoo less...my hair is super curly and i shampoo every three days. Condition your hair daily...Natural shampoos are generally better for your hair because they dont have all of the extra non-necessary products that regualr shampoos do, like fragrance and extra chemicals. Its better to flat iron in the morning, because if you do it at night and then wrap your hair, you'll have to do touch ups in the morning, and that is extra heat you dont need.

that interesting cause i always thought your hair has to be 100% dry to flat iron it or it might become static like.

Is a VS ceramic hair straightener a good one ? Cause i wanna buy it, and yours looks really good, my old one doesn't stay in shape when i do this. So, please answer my question.

the best hair straightener hands down is a chi. The chi turbo or the original chi are both Fantastic.

I have a VS 1" ceramic and it gets my curly/wavy hair completely straight. I've never tried a Chi or Sedu or GHD but those are more expensive. Whether them being more expensive means they're better is debateable. I guess the only difference would be is how hot they heat up to.
