  • Dull.

  • @TheClarenceter troll

  • @TheClarenceter well i'm not actually

  • @crookedwiretap89 Yes you are.

  • To me, this sounds like a meteor or comet entering the atmosphere...

  • any of you music heads know what the effects are on both guitar parts ? my band are trying to cover this. i understand there's fuzz and a bit of reverb but i know nowt else about it. is that an e-bow on the lead ?

  • @OkJohnnyLetsGo Check out the bit about 'Gliding' on the wikipedia article for this album.

  • A lot of my favorite recent albums, such as Wasting Light (Foo Fighters), Backspacer (Pearl Jam), Beyond (Dinosaur Jr.), and Rockford (Cheap Trick) are all made by bands formed between the 70s and 90s.

  • I'll sell every today's band for another Bloody Valentine, or the velvet underground, this isn't music, this is mind serenade

  • this is mbv's best song... ever...

  • one of th best shoegazer songs ive ever heard...read somewhere shields used to duct tape his hand to the wammy bar...started listening to this album in 8th grade

    & never stopped...peace

  • Favorite song on the album. Oddly, it reminds me off being hit by a train

  • This gives me goose bumps.

  • Why is that top comment there ?

  • @az0r22 because loads of people gave it the 'thumbs up'

  • @avedic I could not agree more on the "sounds like sex feels" part.

  • This is the best tune off Loveless, imo.

  • @stephenp1968 This is my mantra...

  • Youtube's track identification is confused by the fuzzed out awesomeness :D

  • Every time I listen to a track from this album I cry uncontrollably.

  • never gave my bloody valentine much notice at the time but now ,well now, xcellent, thanks bnugia2

  • Why does this have only 136,810 views?!

  • free jazz rules

  • @NoneOfTheAbove312 agreed

  • Oh please, music is as good today as it was twenty years ago. Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Gorillaz, Trent Reznor... There's still a ton of good music, are you crazy?

  • @StudioScarecrow

one of these things is not like the others...

  • @frother that is called an opinion and that is perfectly fine B)

  • @StudioScarecrow all those current bands you listed totally suck. especially compared to this. i mean c'mon

  • @dirtbag1713 there's a thing called having opinion that differs from some else's opinion. everyone has them, see.

  • @StudioScarecrow I applaud you, good sir. I'll never get why people think all new music sucks.

  • @SwitchandtheSpur3 i dont think all new music sucks. theres a lot of it around, but some of the posters do have a valid point. it is harder to find imo, and originality and flair do seem to be in short supply compared to the music of the 80s/early 90s.

  • @StudioScarecrow Anyone who thinks this is much too easy to please.

  • @Frostdaddy88 or just not as elitist as you?

  • @Frostdaddy88 see frostdaddy68's comment :)

frankly, twenty years ago, there were people like you saying the same thing you're saying now. And twenty years before that. And that.

  • @StudioScarecrow That was before everyone was a cookie cutter clone of each other. And they're not even cloning the good stuff, just shitty radio pop.

  • @StudioScarecrow arcade fire...lol

  • @Dirtydog275 i assume the lol was your reaction to the sudden realization of how awesome arcade fire is :)

  • @StudioScarecrow just no...and i agree with you that music today is as good as it was 20 years ago, but all those bands you listed aren't good besides Radiohead. But guess what, they were around 20 years ago!

  • @StudioScarecrow arcade fire.. seriously?

  • @wrencheder

    Goes to channel

Sees you liked "Party Rock Anthem"

Takes note that your a dumb-ass

  • @StudioScarecrow Arcade Fire and Gorillaz sux. And who the fuck is Trent Reznor??? Radiohead is of the chain!

  • @StudioScarecrow You've got a marvellous taste in music my friend. I guess you wouldn't be here if you didn't.

  • @StudioScarecrow your phucking stupid donet ever insult mbv i will fucking kill your faggot ass

  • @StudioScarecrow You seem stupid, come to our channel and watch our trailer, tell us what you think? :)

  • @StudioScarecrow

Everyone you named is a great band! And you tell the truth.

  • @StudioScarecrow Well said. Anybody who just totally dismisses modern music as a whole is doing themselves a massive disservice, in my opinion. Works the other way round as well.

As for this song, it's probably the first I'd play to someone if I was trying to describe just how MBV sound. It's quite uniquely hypnotic.

  • @thresholdXCI Holy shit! A youtube video with sane comments!

  • @StudioScarecrow Radiohead aren't by any means a new band, and Trent Reznor isn't new either. Arcade Fire is decent, but I don't find them as amazing or groundbreaking as many people seem to think. Certainly not like My Bloody Valentine. Perhaps my standards are way too high, but there seem to be very few new bands that outright impress me. Fleet Foxes, Class Actress, and Russian Circles are good, but most good music nowadays seems to be made by bands dating back before the 2000s.

  • @MetroidFan621 well, i think a lot of that is taste, and that's fine. I'm not saying that it's wrong to /not/ enjoy modern music, but it's irritating when people act like all of it is disposable pop trash.

  • @StudioScarecrow I do enjoy some "modern music". It's just don't like the plethora of Arcade Fire (no offense to the band itself) and Nickelback knockoffs, and there's not much loud, riff-driven rock, or hugely ambitious experimental, or really varied epics. But no, I agree with you, single-mindedly hating everything from the past 10 years is just dumb.

  • @StudioScarecrow You forgot about MGMT, The Black Keys, The Killers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and more!

  • @StudioScarecrow and that's just the more popular stuff. there's a world of underground stuff that's amazing as well.

  • ppl did the same thing with Radiohead... after the cat was out of the bag about radiohead being some of the only last good talent early on in the 00's, then year and years later music "acts" like kanye west and miley cryus come in mainstream interviews tlaking about how much of a fan they are,yet go back to making thier same radio friendly unit shifters. My music heart stays with THIS 90's & undergound 80's etc n anything before now just about, even if a great album came tomm,U CAN KEEP IT! MBV<3

  • Check out Dead Sunday on facebook.

  • I hate when Americans view this

  • @leeho98 i'm an American and I almost dislike It to(If It wasn't for the fact that exposure benifits the album and the band). I treasure this album so much I could quite frankly get mad the more the world knows about It. I mean you see all the famous ppl who sell out, like the really good stuff but yet when they can make a difference or really help bring the movement back or something like It, or even have the same ambition, they stick to the same ole n make their money, yet act hip and luv this

  • @playaeyez17 Don't worry, MBV is pretty much dead in mainstream and it will continue as a pioneer in shoegaze and even underground music.

  • @leeho98 Sorry that I can't control where I was born.

  • @ItsSomeDeadGuy hahaha right? What is it with people and their strange attachment to the bullshit line on a map country they were accidentally born? Countries don't care about you, and you shouldn't care about countries.

  • This is amazing... And it kinda has an apocalyptic feel to it.

  • this is everything that music can be.

if i can make something half as beautiful in my lifetime i am content.

  • Great music to fuck to !

  • this was the first MBV song i ever heard. hated it at first. i couldn't understand how anyone could listen to 3 minutes of static and like it. but, something captivated me and i listened more and more. i started hearing these cool harmonics...very faint. the vocal impressed me more and more. beautiful melody. and those oceanic chromatic bass swells just capped it off. it's so surreal and hazy and tangible. it's unique, that's for sure. it sounds like sunshine itself.

  • @avedic Green purple and yellow sunshine at that :)

    -Peace.

  • Bilinda is such a lovely singer.

Her voice just drifts on the sound of Kevin's guitar.

  • The best song off the best album by the best fucking band that ever was. God is jealous.

  • Sounds like Serena Maneesh...

  • MBV was the best hands down If you know shoegaze most likely you've investigated & will agree or present a strong argument hopefully. Slowdive's "Souvlaki" album was the very Second BEST SHOEGAZE ALBUM It still could barely nipp at the heels of "Loveless" but.. what can!? lol. I love this era, style & this genre.. forget labels this is good music=has SOUL..nesting you STRONG in your 90's memories & better days..manufactured crap never molds for days but good food molds If not ate fresh you know!

  • I remember when I first got this cassette, I thought maybe they had sold it to me warped.

  • @tinyvox HAHA I was gonna take my copy of Loveless back to HMV thinking it was faulty. But then it suddenly hit me... this is fookin GENIUS!!!

  • So good.

  • 5 people have to buy new ears ..I'm sure about that..please go to your doc now..and maybe someday..you'll be able to hear what we hear...I really hope for all the 5 of you..peace

  • nice T_T TACNA - PERU

  • they were and are the greatest band to walk this planet, i can't thank spin magazine enough for turning me on to them! Long Live My Bloody Valentine! Now for some new material ladies and gents!

  • Fucked up my hearing Loveless

  • You don't need to get drugs when you listen to mbv to have an orgasmic trip :)

  • 5 people must commit suicide now.

  • love this album but Muse is complete shit

  • LOVELESS, The BEST ALBUM EVER by any band... Including music created by the band at this time, songs like HONEY POWER, SWALLOW, MOON SONG. Don't care so much for their earlier music. This is their masterpiece. Sad, but band can probably never duplicate this or do better.

  • @fatima09med I don't think they'll ever try.

  • This stuff is awesome!!!! My buddy Gregg got me into these fucks about 20 yrs ago!!!!! Damn time flies. Bilinda Butcher can blow me anyday.........I love Bilinda and her Beautiful music.

  • I first thought that this band was one of the early "emo" bands but they have blown my expectations away. I'm somewhat of a shoegaze fan so I find their sound amazing. Theirs is a sound i actually imagined in my mind before, but now i find out it's already fully established. It's kind of like finding out unicorns are real. It's straight up aural sex up in here.

  • sounds like a 1967 psychedelic record but more trippy.

  • @Zombiepizza88

Where you turn the speakers up so much they distort like hell.

  • @BeTheDeathOfMe Yea, so melodic yet so distorted

  • What is good music? I finally know. Music that you can feel in your soul, in your blood. Music is good when your body and soul react to it.

  • MBV obviously needed them....theres no way Loveless would have come about without them.

  • SOOO, MUCH, FUZZZZZZZZ.

    I love it.,

  • You have to appreciate bands that have more than one singer.

  • I was driving the other night through a dark valley in Southren California, with the only light being from my stereo blaring My Bloody Valentine, passing headlights and the many stars ballooning above the hills. My windshield was like a planetarium with the moon making a slice into the sky, and I could see my shadowy face reflecting against the glass. This song came on, I experienced nirvana that moment, right when the song hit the last chord, I was dazed...

  • @SOADafi Beautiful.

  • @SOADafi Yeah, My Bloody Valentine is great desert music. I use to listen to this album when I lived in Las Vegas.

  • @SOADafi I hope you didnt have an accident..

  • @SOADafi That sounds better than sex

  • @MrPRowe89 that it was my friend, that it was...

  • This song is...nothing short of a miracle

  • pretty boys with their sunshine faces carryin their head down where youre goin now dont turn around

  • shoegaze pwnz!

  • The guitar sounds like fire, if that makes any sense...

  • do they still play?

  • Comment removed

  • this must be like such a good cd to just space out 2

    literally gazing at your shoe

  • I got this as a "deaf" snatch. I haven't really heard a thing by My Bloody Valentine before, but I heard this album is great.

With guitar songs I've had before hand, you can really feel the guitars are still coming from an amp or just really feeling like they're going to break through your speakers and into your mind. What's appealing about Loveless so far is that it's really immersing myself into the music right from the start! Incredible.

  • can somebody tell me what album this is off of ?

  • its called Loveless

  • loveless i think

  • Mmmm. The soundwaves are softly fucking my ears.

  • @ShoeStare ; Lubricant is unnecessary.

  • that wee riff at 0.38 is just epic

  • and then the transition at 1:03 just adds to the end to that epic part:)

  • my vitriol win the shoegaze crown

  • I love shoegazey music. And thanks for the upload. I'd been told this album was good, but never heard it. And i CAN NOT find this ANYWHERE. No shops sell it.

Gunna trawl the internet now. Cheers.

  • @hihihihihihihihihify I found it at fye

  • this song is about a party where people are using drugs

  • @zwartepiet412 holy shit, and little kids are there and are very disappointing at what they see.

    very cool interpretation

  • Can we change the conversation back to the song, rather than emo kids?

  • Any music that you feel is emo. We all seem to have forgot that "emo" is derived from "emotional." Simply, the Beatles were emo. HA HA!

Oh, and emos can be nice too. I met one emo girl once and she was very kind to me and had a lot of joy in her spirit.

  • @RkivUnderground Emo is actually short for Emotive, it's a shame idiots like you have made the word so gay.

  • No, the beatles were druggies.

  • shut up with the emo and other stupid namings of things.

do you like it or not?

    if not, DON'T LISTEN

  • what exactly is emo ?

  • @nairdallewop Not this I can tell you that much!!!

  • emo is the new gay

  • lyrics do their job. calling them horrendous and cliche is a huge stretch. they're not special but they're not the focus of the song anyways.

  • Yeah, the lyrics kinda suck. But that's okay cause the singer's voice is beautiful. And they kinda do fit in with the whole shoe gazey vibe. MBV foreeeeever!

  • Greatest album of It's genre EVER. This was just as revolutionary as Nevermind (Nirvana) they both came out mere months apart in 1991, yet this is obviously TIMELESS and sounds pristine!..It never ages...every single song including the interlude, the name of the album, hell even the abstract cover art... & "Loveless" fits perfectly!. I feel sad yet think beautifull hearing It. This album is so serious It really is near tangible- digital-intimacy being imitated on a record!. REAL Masterwork!

  • could not have said it better than myself.. especially about feeling both sad and happy at the same time. this album gives me goosebumps.

I highly recommend the group Boards of Canada to anyone who likes this album. They are more electronic based but they constantly evoke similar feelings of nostalgia, sadness, relaxation,, and "warmth" all simultaneously

  • album art isn't very abstract... it's a blurred pink picture of a Fender Jagstang...

  • this was released in 1991

the jagstang was made in 1994, released in 1995.

    it's a Jazzmaster.

  • whoops, its a Jazzmaster... I never was very good at identifying guitars by their pickups and pickguards...

  • Listening to this album makes me wanna stay young for the eternity. It's a triumph of creativity, like a beautiful and shining paint

  • Does it get any better than this song? I think not. It feels so good when my ears bleed.

  • Who needs drugs when you have My Bloody Valentine?

  • have both!

  • well, they do go well together.

  • @kingcroak cause the drugs make it a million times better :P

  • @aresx666 .... yeah!!

  • @aresx666 my thoughts exactly.

  • @kingcroak I really like the comination

  • @kingcroak Why not have both? Even better!

  • @kingcroak you ever listen to record bake out of your mind!?......its an expreince!

  • @phucketification Of course it is, but the thing about the record is that it was MADE on drugs (pretty much). All of the work is done for you, so musically there's not alot more to appreciate when you're high. I'm not saying getting high is bad (I'm a fan of that myself) but if loads of people were listening to a record made by me then I might feel slightly off about people trying to make it sound better by inhibiting themselves. Just my two cents XD

  • @kingcroak if it was like that then just about every artist in the 60's should feel slightly off(more so)

  • agree with monte elitists dont like music just wots happening at the moment.

  • untouchable beauty

  • Don't get all snobby elitest. Just because you don't like a particular type of music doesn't mean it's crap. Sure, "this fag rock shit like muse" may not be very musically intelligent, but they're one of my favourite bands, up with radiohead and MBV.

You can't disregard an entire base of music just because it's "mainstream" that's just pretentious. If you hate a song because it has a simple chord progression you're taking away from what music really is. Feelings and memories.

    Just a thought.....

  • yes. your own taste > *. calling all mainstream shit is as conformist as your conformity you lambaste.

  • @montezuma911 i understand the message of your post, but muse is god awful. i'm sorry.

  • @montezuma911 They are kind os overated, esspecailly with musicians.

But they didn't get popular because they were crap :)

Its just the vocals just don't do it for me, and they sound the same in every song.

  • @synth77: What do you think Shoegaze is?

  • @SkylinexBleedsxRed What do you mean?are you refering to my last comment or just asking me out of the blue?(god my spelling was aweful down there v)if so(out of the blue is would be to hard to explain what shoegaze means to me but if you want a definition you'll have to look it up out of the blue.

  • @synth77: LoL, Yeah. You had mentioned something about the vocal range of the band. It seems that most Shoegaze is abnormally chill. :) So that's why I had mentioned that to you. Not trying to be a jerk or something.
