I have a few of questions. First, does a PS2 Slim console with too much dust inside cause it to work too hard, possibly leading to the power cable (the box part) exploding? Also, if a PS2 Slim console turns off immediately after trying to play a game, but otherwise works fine, is it a sign that it needs to be cleaned. One last question, if the console makes a loud humming sound and gets hot while playing games does this mean that there is too much dust inside?

@Krakolio The box should not explode, if it does you should obviously be dead from that... You might just need a whole new console, it may be cheaper than replacing every bad part on it. New ones are $100 from Sony or around $50 on ebay.

@loisdies1 It's either damaged or out of alignment. See my video about the PS2 disc not spinning and see if yours has the same problem.

Hey I had a question, I just followed your video on how to clean the ps2 slim and I was wondering what king of rubbing alcohol did you use on the eye, I used the Swan 50% Isopropyl Alcohol for it.

hey, when you use the canned air you say to hold it in the plastic part right above the eye. that piece in my ps2 can be taken out like its not attached to the other parts, its not broken. the discs dont spin. is my ps2 dead??

I like when people make cleaning much more easier and simple than breaking the system after you clean it! Just use a air bottle instead of blowing with your mouth. Also use Rubbin A.

Great video man,i haven't taken apart the slim before so was interesting to see how its done,i thought it would have been tricky with it being so tightly packed in.

The 360 and ps3 look a nightmare to open up so i wouldn't dare touch those.

The brushes are a good idea too.

I can't wait till the 360 needs a cleaning. That will be a fun tutorial. Not getting a PS3 till FFXIII comes out. Even though it's cross platformed it would feel wrong playing with the x box controller.
