this is a second version of canto general theodorakis made two versions one with flute and one with buzuki wich is the original one so this is the original version !

One of the greatest music of the world. The great composer Mikis Theodorakis, together with the great writer Pablo Neruda could make something outstanding "The Canto General". Who else could sing it better then Pedros Pandis and Maria Farantouri? This music always makes me shiver.

@spiritof1941 I completely agree, I saw them in Stockholm a couple of times in the 80*s . I have the complete LPs of canto General and I recently got a CD of a later recording, but this is unfortunately not complete, some songs are missing.

Petros Pandis has a marvelous voice, and to see Theodorakis in action is a great experience! I simply love them, and...being chilean, I am quite familiar with these poems. Happy new year!

Muy buen video, se acoplaron muy bien los ideales del poeta y los del músico, en esa época dificil tanto para Neruda como para Theodorakis en sus paises, este poema es rico en todo su contenido, María y Petros sin demeritar a los otros que lo han interpretado, para mi han sido los mejores.

Thats true. And as a point of pride, the orchestra playing in that recording is the dutch Metropole Orchestra from Hilversum, Holland who are my colleagues. I work 50 % in the Dutch Radiochoir that is in the same building :)
