You are very brave to use that on 6 for your first shave. I really want to get one. I'm currently using the Merkur HD.
is the cap on the Futur metal, or plastic?
If I could make one suggestion? Aim for gradual hair reduction, not eliminating everything in one pass. Especially with an aggressive razor, relather before doing any more work on areas that you've already shaved. It will help reduce irritation and will give a better shave.
The Gillette Fatboy adjustable has an adjustment scale of gentle to less gentle. Not that aggressive of a razor. That's why it feels so different from the Futur. The Futur also does hot bend the blade as much as other razors, so you need to use less of an angle, a 30 degree angle that you normally use on other razors will cause the blade to scrape across your face on the Futur.
I've got the chrome Futur myself, and love it (shave my whole darn head with it!). When I heard you were going to use it at setting 6 I winced... took me all kinds of practice just to use 3 comfortably!
@CSGraves Ya it was a bit nerve racking, that setting is one of the most aggressive I experience on a DE razor, I figured if I could survive that, then I could try a straight razor out lol ;)

@kaorine333 I use a alum stick to close any cuts up and then after I use Bluebeards Revenge Post Shave Balm to finish it up. I do this after every shave. In this video I did 2 more passes before I put the balm on
