@Killernochance this tutorial was made 2 years ago, wire has changed quite a bit. I haven't played gmod in quite some time. The turret isn't that complex though. All this turret does is get the value of the ranger, and compare it to the less or equal chip. If the ranger's value is less or equal to the constant value, then the turret will shoot. I hope this helps.

The turrets just stay firing when you wire them to the less than or equal thing. You need to update this tutorial as it obviously doesn't work on my wire version :(

an easier way to make that is just wire the turrets to the ranger and not have constant value or gate chip. Should work about the same.

it's probably because ur beam is seeing the groung so it think s that it's somthing that it has to shoot

just straiten it out to do it get the phys gun and hold the whole panel and press shift+E

and rotate it till it's completely vertical

Hm, you can create your own Maps, with the "Source SDK" Tool, which you can finde in the "tools" folder. ( ahm, not folder, i mean another word, but i forgot it^^ )

Make sure the ranger is set so that "default to Zero" is unchecked.

why add a less than if the value of teh ranger line is already being valued, there for stopping directly at the enemy infront of it. all you need to do is wire turret to ranger. Learn to wire.

First of all, its therefore, second of all. Wiring a turrent straight to a ranger doesn't work. The value to a single value activates a turret. You need a sign.

This video was posted over a year ago, when I first got GMod. The only reason I keep it up is because it has a lot of views and it can show new people to wire the basics. I play GMod maybe 30 minutes weekly. I'm much more busy with real life things like school and my job.

Now, with that being said, go back to sixth grade a read up on the grammar and spelling booklets. I think you need a little bit of a refresher.

I'm using the most up to date version of wire mod. You extract it all to the folder called "addons" in your garrysmod folder. The path for me is Steam > steamapps > Username > garrysmod > garrysmod > addons

Yes, I know. This video was made Feb 2008 when I first got Garry's Mod. Even if there is a more simple way of doing it I'm sure if people watch this video and see the basics of how wire works they can use it for more complex things.

can someone make a tut for a turret with a z axis, im kind of making a flying machine with turrets, but all the tuts on youtube are for floor turrets that have no up or down aiming.

Just attach another panel with a wheel. Wire the wheel to the beacon sensor Z. It's kind of hard to do because of weight and what not. I had one that worked perfect but when i saved it in advanced duplicator it always loads all screwed up. I can't be bothered to make another one like it so meh. You can also do it using hydraulics.

You can just check 'default to zero' for the ranger and hook up the range to the turrets. Then they should trigger as soon as range > 0 ;).

You go into options and you can change it there. It's not complete wide screen it's just fraps only records the game so you don't see the rest of my monitor. I put it on low res so i don't get lag when I'm recording.
