I came from drifting to truck hauling. Amazing how this happens. Awesome video though! Now off to big rig drag racing again lol. seriously though haha
right!!!!! that shit be scary the first couple of times but you get used to it after a while. the thing that really be going through your head is .....if that cable going to brak lmao
well, wheelieing your truck picking up a dumpster isn't BAD for it, but it can be dangerous...
I remember going on a job where the demo guys loaded a 40 yard dumpster with a whole roof and bricks from an apartment building... the dumpster jumped off the track and did major damage to both the truck and the street.
That is why when you call a waste company looking for a can, the first question they ask you is if you are putting any dirt, rock, concrete or sand into the can. I have rented a few cans and I have always been asked that question from three separate companies. I never had to put that kind of waste into then, mostly clean outs and interior demo.
How isnt it bad for it ? The way i see it is a truck like this is a bigger version "way bigger version" as a pickup truck or any other SUV for example. Put too much load on one axle and you risk bending it.. and the frame. From what i saw of this video all the weight of that bin was being put on 1 of the 2 rear axles for a little bit.. If you say this isnt bad tell that to the dumptrucks on the road i see with bents axles where the wheels are wobbling. I see it all the time
@1ownjoo2 these kinds of trucks are able to handle major loads, some in excess of 10 tons. if you take a larger bin with a half ton of debris in the back and extend it, it can lift the cab of the truck without much issue. Also, the rear axles of these types of trucks are on a pivot, so they will both stay in contact with the ground save extreme situations.
@1ownjoo2 Not necessarily the axles though the right ones live longer (Rockwell) as it is suspension or in the case of moving a house, no suspension and solid tires. This guy is having fun and games now but it will take a toll, using things beyond their scope always does, like your Dana 30 and 5 tons.
A true professional would have kept the front tires on the ground. True professionals value safety and also do not "hot-dog" as you call it. Only show offs and super truckers do this crap.
First of all, if I were the owner of the company/truck and saw my driver do that to my truck, I would smack him in the the back of the head for being an A-hole. Then kick him in the sack for abusing my equipment and even attempting to load that heavy of can. Then, I would find the A-hole the overloaded the can and kick him in the sack and make him take some of the load out. And after that I would find the F-ing cheap ass foreman and kick him in the sack for having his crew overload my can.
You never know who he works for. The boss might be one of those guys who just wants the job done at any cost, until something goes wrong and then the driver is blamed. Happens all the time.

Obvious troll is obvious. First off, you don't have a clue about trucks. Second: I bet you don't drive either. And lastly: Please go into your medicine cabinet and swallow everything you see in there. Do not come back to the internet until you have done so. Thank you.
@lordtaw you must be some dumb garbage man that thinks hes so cool cuz he can pick up the tires on his truck he dont even own !!! right ?? your a class b truckdriver so thats tells me that a busdriver took a harder test then you!! and yes i do drive class a and with a tanker endor if you hade a clue !!! just keep up the good work there garbage man your lifes going far as for the medacine cabinet you need to eat all the pills in yours to get up and drive that pile of dog shit
@stevesai the tri axle or pusher axle takes some of the weight off the front end and drive axle! I used them in Toronto-they make a big difference on a 23-26 foot rail. The axle smooths out the ride on a loaded roll off or dump truck. The axle also has brakes which allow the truck to stop faster and the axle takes some of the braking away from the front axle. Also from a drivers' point of view it stops the drivers neck from being jerked back while going over bumps.
@trashratt i kno its for added braking and what not but atleast here ived never seen it so far foward on the chassis.....its always right infront of the tandems
I live in NYC too. Weight laws vary from state to state and even vary from town/county/city as well. That axle is there to help distribute the load to meet the local weight laws. There are some states that have really stupid laws, multiple pusher/tag axles to just gross 80,000. Here in NYC the legal limit is something like 21k per axle, or 63k on 3 axles and 80 on 4. Many cheat here though :) A permitted 7 axle dump tractor-trailer can legally gross 117,000 pound in most of NY as well.
Its common to have the front end come off the ground when picking a heavy can. With that said this guy lowered his rails all the way when the can was just half on to pick the front end higher. He is no pro, he put extra stress on the rear ends, front end when it comes back down and if the cable snapped it could have come through the back of the cab. A real pro would have picked it right and kept the front wheels on the ground and the hoist above the cab until the can is into the forward stops
I see a lot of complaints about this video. The driver clearly knows what he is doing..The truck slowly came down and he didn't panic like a wimpy girl when she went up in the air lol. It is MORE common than these people think, my Dad drove a roll-off for years for a heavy machine rental place and I have seen him do this more than I can count. Get a few scissor lifts and a forklift on the bed than raise 'er up onto the bed, the truck nose is gonna go up first LOL....A+ and good quality vid!
it really aint that bad for the truck. ok think about it that truck was built to handle alot of stress (weight). Honestly the ass end supporting the front end is probably lighter on the ass than the fuckin bin the guys loading. and for the fender-bender PICS OR IT DIDNT HAPPEN!!
Good job!!! The key is to pull the truck under the bin as much as you can, then bring the rails down gradually as you bring the box forward. Its not as easy as it looks! @bluecollarcanuck- sometimes you cant help lifting the front wheels- the trick is to GO SLOWLY- and come down SLOWLY so you dont destroy the front end, or bend the frame. Any good operator knows this!
He needs to pull the bin up while keeping the whole bin level on the rails, dropping the rails before the bin is loaded will do that... Although in this video he at least knew enough to let the truck roll under the load. Not drag the load to the truck... lol.. in other words I think he knew better.
@d100x - It's interesting to read all the comments about the "abuse of equipment" "he's a hacker" "should be fired" " gonna blow the truck up doing that".... Blah Blah Blah....
I have yet to hear from someone who is an engineer or designs/builds these trucks say "Bad move, failure imminent" I don't see this smooth loading being a much greater stress on the truck than otherwise.
The truck was immaculate and well cared for, operation was smooth and gentle. I call that pro-hot dogging. My $0.02
@pjberr That looks like it's only a 30-yd., though, unless it was filled with concrete or gypsum. IMO, I would've pulled the truck back a bit more to put more weight towards the front.
In my experience, the front wheels shouldn't be off the ground.
@pjberr It's not that bad for the truck. You've got the same amount of load weight on all the rear components. The only serious issue is the engines lubricants being jostled around.
@pjberr he's saying that how clean his truck is, has nothing to do with his driving skill, if a truck is clean it tells you its either new or doesn't get used often, my dad does these wheelies, not all the time, not something to do too often as it causes excess stress on the chassis, suspension, wheels and hydraulics. he's just another guy with a truck and an ego.
@pjberr FYI THat is undue stress and is not recommended as per the specifications and design however it can be done I cant wait till his frame snaps that would've been good video there but my boss would've fired people for this same technique that is why the winch systems are made to handle extreme loads so this kind of lifting is not necessary but you can tell hes a pro anyway my 2 cents worth from a mechanic
@pjberr i agree his boom should not have come below the cab if his cable would have snapped it would have come threw the cab i know i drive a roll off truck all he is doing is showing off for the construction workers hes an idiot
@pjberr yeah theres nothing wrong w/ putting all the weight on one rear axle made to handle 1/3 of the amt. of weight he put on it. im no engineer but that math adds up to this guy being a fucking douchebag.
@pjberr These trucks take much more abuse just driving down the road than this. Even if he dropped it there would probably be no damage compaired to the rough roads it slams into at 50mph.
@pjberr Im an auto mechanic and I can say, As long as you dont tip it to a point where the oil gets places where it shouldnt be, and you don't overload the hydraulics pulling that box up, you will not cause any harm to your truck like this.
Though, its probably not a good idea to have ?tons balanced on 2 back wheels.
@pjberr the guy in the video put a lot of stress on certain parts in the back of the truck, you can only see the results in the long run, and it's not like you can see the strain on metal with the naked eye
I admit it didn't hurt the truck this time, But it doesn't look good. Cable breaking or loss of Hydraulics, And that trucks going to need front end or suspension work. LoL
Q: Why not pull it up further, before pulling it onto the frame. Just curious. A wrecker maybe... Not a dumpster truck.
@pjberr I have yet to hear from someone who is an engineer or designs/builds these trucks say "I'm a profesional, I have my engineering degree and I designed this truck so that it would twist up and stand on its back wheels every time a pro operates it. Only n00bs would think that is a much greater stress on the truck than otherwise."
@pjberr Just from my personal experience being around these vehicles, examining and doing minor repairs as a kid.... I doubt that is doing any severe damage to it. They are meant to take some abuse.
Some guys enjoy their jobs and when you are good at it..you can do a little show-off now and again..I've seen this stuff before,I remember hauling 60 foot structural I-Beams and came across this guy picked up engine blocks out in Whitby Ontario with a roll on truck like this...When he brought the bin up..the truck went up and It freaked him out,but he got the job done..and i got mine done..always cool too see..thanks for posting.
@AuSSiEJaZzA Actually this type does use cables, and if you look close at the video you will see it slack off and tighting back up as he resumes pulling the bin.
Pro? No way. Anyone who will lift the front like that is just a showoff and risks bending the frame. I've seen them fold over from silliness like this. Have fun, but don't cry when the owner sends you down the road with your lunchbox.
that dumpster is heavy overloaded with concrete or dirt, they don't care to haul a prohibited loads by highway patrol just to keep customers happy and keep the fucking contarct.
I've been around good roll-off drivers, and even with them picking up illegally overweight loads it was rare to see them up in the air even an inch. The drivers who weren't so good did get air time but, while I'm no expert, I think that having your front tires off of the ground means that you're not as good as some guys are, and are putting more wear and tear on the truck.
@Spearfisher1970 - Yeah, I've been driving roll off for quite a while, and have never had the front wheels off the ground. This is a prime example of a bad driver. Also, did you notice him back under those overhead wires with the bed up? Good way to piss off the phone or cable company.
@sambeano024 Stop whining. Go post some videos of you picking up roll offs. Why not go critique dump truck drivers that have front wheels come up when they dump? Piss off the phone company, I'm sure he saw the wire. Explain what he did wrong and why he had his front wheels come off the ground. Let's hear it.
@studpuppy69-Oh boy, a Greyhound Bus driver thinking he knows how to drive a roll off. Let's see, where in my post did I whine, as you put it? Um, driving for the company that I do, if a foreman or customer see this, it's your ass, out the door. Backing under cables with the bed up, loaded or not, is forbidden. He's loading a way overloaded concrete bin, stressing the frame of the truck, and risking a cable snap and the bin hauling ass off the truck and injuring someone or property damage!!
@sambeano024 Sir your a turd. I asked you to stop whining and explain your position. You weren't there, foreman wasn't there, it could have been a small property but you just want to act like the holy god of bin pickers. Go post a video of you doing something. Secondly I'm not a Greyhound bus driver. Grow up.
@studpuppy69- A turd? Golly gee, that's original. Hmmm, seems to me, you're a faggoty bus driver with nothing better to do with your time, and just happened to single me out, despite all the comments on here that seem to agree with mine. Go crawl back into the little cubicle shitter in the back of your bus, and spank your monkey some more. Leave the real driving to us real drivers.
@sambeano024 You are so right.I too worked rolloff and know that had my boss seen me do something that stupid I wouldnt be driving his truck for long. It was very dangerous and very stressful on that truck. He could have easily broken a cable there and put it trough the cab.
@jetengine7 Not bloody likely!! Most rear axles are listed at 44,000 lbs not the 110,000 lbs you suggest. Besides, if you have two rear axles, it is not likely that the truck would be permitted on the road with a gross weight in excess of 220,000 lbs. When I drove B train trailers, my gross weight was only 136,000 lbs and I had a total of 9 axles on the road.
i drove for waste managment for 36 years and i think i seen it all.from money to bodys in the cans.i had a minor stroke and the state of michigan and waste forced me to retire.
apparently no one on youtube knows how to freakin load a box. You don't lower yer rails before its on the whole way because of weight distribution and if the cable breaks it goes over the roof and not right through the rear window. had he done it the right way and pull it alll on at a 45 degree angle it woulda gone smooth. then you lower it down.
@jimnasar24 yeah i've heard a lotta stories about that happening from my boss and cables snap a lot more often than i thought. i'm only 20 i've only been drivin for 2 years
I use to do this sometimes for fun, but sometimes it happens in soft dirt or un-level roads and their is not anything you can do about it. But its fun, theres times when iv been up so high you only see sky and no road, but you gotta be careful not to tip over.
One advantage of doing this is say your at the yard and you gotta work on the truck, lift a heavy bin, pull forward on stands... lol faster then using a hoist lol
Ok, I almost took a roll off driver job several years ago as a CDL driver, but, took a position driving a fuel tanker instead, back then. THIS is WAAAY more cool!!! Awesome skills!!
I drive a rolloff everyday, this was for show, if he pulled the can up the rails alittle higher before putting it down weight would be farther up front and truck stays down. its just fun to do sometimes when the day is long and someone is watching. ; )
So many experts leaving comments on here. Everybody knows it all.... Can anybody just say cool video, awesome truck, good job? At the end of the day nobody got hurt, the truck is still fine, and the driver got the job done! Geesh!
@cgd27 let me tell you, 26 ton on any roll off or hooklift is heavy, because its 26 ton, and 26 ton is heavy. now whether or not the roll off is full is a different story. but its still heavy. ive picked 26 tons w/ my roll off and bitch looked like it was bout to fall apart, and it was super pissed and it barely did it. and thats w/ a 30ton hoist on the trailer.
i tell you what if that was my truck i wood of fired you for that you ass

@pjberr he's saying that how clean his truck is, has nothing to do with his driving skill, if a truck is clean it tells you its either new or doesn't get used often, my dad does these wheelies, not all the time, not something to do too often as it causes excess stress on the chassis, suspension, wheels and hydraulics. he's just another guy with a truck and an ego.
benargee 9 months ago
@pjberr FYI THat is undue stress and is not recommended as per the specifications and design however it can be done I cant wait till his frame snaps that would've been good video there but my boss would've fired people for this same technique that is why the winch systems are made to handle extreme loads so this kind of lifting is not necessary but you can tell hes a pro anyway my 2 cents worth from a mechanic
pastorgeorgem 8 months ago
@pjberr i agree his boom should not have come below the cab if his cable would have snapped it would have come threw the cab i know i drive a roll off truck all he is doing is showing off for the construction workers hes an idiot
lilbull19 8 months ago
@pjberr yeah theres nothing wrong w/ putting all the weight on one rear axle made to handle 1/3 of the amt. of weight he put on it. im no engineer but that math adds up to this guy being a fucking douchebag.
oipbhakeld 7 months ago
@pjberr These trucks take much more abuse just driving down the road than this. Even if he dropped it there would probably be no damage compaired to the rough roads it slams into at 50mph.
whitscot 7 months ago
@pjberr
Well, maybe a late comment, but for as a truck driver myself with 40kubic meters container system.
I can do this to, but believe me. If not heavily changed chassis to make it stronger it is really not that good.
Why can i manage to pickup a container from 25.000kg on my 14.000kg truck withouth pulling my front up...
An other trucker at our firma actually broke his rear axle by pulling these stunts often.....
anyway HF with ur $0.02 xD :) nice vid anyway
UbahKameel 7 months ago
@pjberr Im an auto mechanic and I can say, As long as you dont tip it to a point where the oil gets places where it shouldnt be, and you don't overload the hydraulics pulling that box up, you will not cause any harm to your truck like this.
Though, its probably not a good idea to have ?tons balanced on 2 back wheels.
DursosZeroPred 7 months ago
@pjberr the guy in the video put a lot of stress on certain parts in the back of the truck, you can only see the results in the long run, and it's not like you can see the strain on metal with the naked eye
llVIU 7 months ago
@pjberr
A pro doesn't need to stand the truck up.
P.s Not being an A.H. Just Asking.

IuTiubTM 6 months ago
@pjberr Just from my personal experience being around these vehicles, examining and doing minor repairs as a kid.... I doubt that is doing any severe damage to it. They are meant to take some abuse.

Pro? No way. Anyone who will lift the front like that is just a showoff and risks bending the frame. I've seen them fold over from silliness like this. Have fun, but don't cry when the owner sends you down the road with your lunchbox.

Spearfisher1970 1 year ago
@Spearfisher1970 - Yeah, I've been driving roll off for quite a while, and have never had the front wheels off the ground. This is a prime example of a bad driver. Also, did you notice him back under those overhead wires with the bed up? Good way to piss off the phone or cable company.
sambeano024 1 year ago
@sambeano024 Stop whining. Go post some videos of you picking up roll offs. Why not go critique dump truck drivers that have front wheels come up when they dump? Piss off the phone company, I'm sure he saw the wire. Explain what he did wrong and why he had his front wheels come off the ground. Let's hear it.
studpuppy69 1 year ago
@studpuppy69-Oh boy, a Greyhound Bus driver thinking he knows how to drive a roll off. Let's see, where in my post did I whine, as you put it? Um, driving for the company that I do, if a foreman or customer see this, it's your ass, out the door. Backing under cables with the bed up, loaded or not, is forbidden. He's loading a way overloaded concrete bin, stressing the frame of the truck, and risking a cable snap and the bin hauling ass off the truck and injuring someone or property damage!!
sambeano024 1 year ago
@sambeano024 Sir your a turd. I asked you to stop whining and explain your position. You weren't there, foreman wasn't there, it could have been a small property but you just want to act like the holy god of bin pickers. Go post a video of you doing something. Secondly I'm not a Greyhound bus driver. Grow up.
studpuppy69 1 year ago
@studpuppy69- A turd? Golly gee, that's original. Hmmm, seems to me, you're a faggoty bus driver with nothing better to do with your time, and just happened to single me out, despite all the comments on here that seem to agree with mine. Go crawl back into the little cubicle shitter in the back of your bus, and spank your monkey some more. Leave the real driving to us real drivers.
sambeano024 1 year ago
@sambeano024 You are so right.I too worked rolloff and know that had my boss seen me do something that stupid I wouldnt be driving his truck for long. It was very dangerous and very stressful on that truck. He could have easily broken a cable there and put it trough the cab.

Snapped rear axle waiting to happen... idiot.
ToughTitty1 1 year ago
@ToughTitty1 Each rear axle can carry up to 110,000 lbs, so they're not snapping anytime soon.
jetengine7 1 year ago
@jetengine7 I HIGHLY doubt if it can carry that much. More like all three axels!
3Mudbone1 1 year ago
@jetengine7 Not bloody likely!! Most rear axles are listed at 44,000 lbs not the 110,000 lbs you suggest. Besides, if you have two rear axles, it is not likely that the truck would be permitted on the road with a gross weight in excess of 220,000 lbs. When I drove B train trailers, my gross weight was only 136,000 lbs and I had a total of 9 axles on the road.
Premair 1 year ago
@Premair Your right....I don't know why I said that. Each rear axle is most likely rated at 44,000 lbs.

JCart1033 1 year ago
apparently no one on youtube knows how to freakin load a box. You don't lower yer rails before its on the whole way because of weight distribution and if the cable breaks it goes over the roof and not right through the rear window. had he done it the right way and pull it alll on at a 45 degree angle it woulda gone smooth. then you lower it down.
JCart1033 1 year ago
@JCart1033 not only that,if that cable breaks,it could lop your head off(36 years at wm)

I drive a rolloff everyday, this was for show, if he pulled the can up the rails alittle higher before putting it down weight would be farther up front and truck stays down. its just fun to do sometimes when the day is long and someone is watching. ; )

my dad does this stuff for a living both with cable & hook lifts (only his is with waste paper now thats heavy)
ive been to work with him a few times now tell me 26 ton of cardboard in a 40yard cube aint heavy
cgd27 2 years ago
@cgd27 let me tell you, 26 ton on any roll off or hooklift is heavy, because its 26 ton, and 26 ton is heavy. now whether or not the roll off is full is a different story. but its still heavy. ive picked 26 tons w/ my roll off and bitch looked like it was bout to fall apart, and it was super pissed and it barely did it. and thats w/ a 30ton hoist on the trailer.
