This is an absolute outrage Geoff. In the last 2 years you have cut the number of customer service staff at Australian airports by 450 people even though you are carrying more passengers then ever before. On top of this you want the remaining staff to do it on lower wages and with less terms and conditions. Your increase of 27% in your salary is obviously at the expense of your front line staff. $128,986 per week is an absurd amount of money to pay yourself. How do you sleep at night?
One thing that I have always liked about flying with Qantas is the customer service. Always friendly and really helpful. Why are Qantas threatening one of their greatest assets that actually make Qantas the great airline that it is?
CEO Geoff Dixon's salary - $128,986 a week, up 27% from the year before. John Borghetti, Exec GM - $78,499 a week, also up 26%. A customer service agent's base wage is $667 pw, Geoff Dixon and his mates want to cut that rate by 10%. Where is the justice or fairness in that? While these executives were swanning around prostituting themselves to the failed private equity consortium the real workers were working hard to help deliver another massive profit of $1.32 Billion
I have seen Geoff Dixon a few times now lining up for a $5 steak dinner special at the Mosman Hotel in Sydney. What a miserable tight-arse; no wonder why he doesn't give a rats about staff pay and conditions when he is so stingey himself personally.
Geoff lines up for a $5 steak by choice. His staff are lucky if they can afford a $5 steak. As the wiggles say "Wake Up Geoff" it's not just you that makes the airline profitable, it is the hard work of the front line staff. They deserve better.
Dixon you are an arsehole in the true sense of the word.

The kangaroo is left scratching itself, bemused, "What the hell are you doing to my airline, Geoff?"

This week in two seperate travel agents the staff told me more and more people are coming in and saying "any airline but Qantas".
Last time I flew back from London on Qantas, 6 out of the 8 toilets were out of order.
Last time I tried to get from Melbourne to Sydney on Qantas it took five hours (it should take 70 minutes).
