  • @ kirsconz, floating discs were designed to reduce knock-back. He's just tapping the brakes to make sure that he still has brake pressure.

  • these cars run a floating disk which causes the pads to move slightly away from the disks it gives them a better brake pedal they're not going wipe off bugger all speed at 200 plus k's that close to the corner

  • Ok. I haven't understood that part at 1:15 because I'm not a native speaker and the Australian accent isn't that easy ;-)

  • OK thanks :)

  • @blitziiili

    kirsconze is sort of right...

It's basically done to check they have brake pressure.

They're taught to tap the brakes so if there's a problem they can try to wipe off speed early, instead of getting to the corner at 200km/h and realising they have low or no brakes.

  • @itsdamo1993 it brings heat to the brake pads

  • it brings the pads up to the disk

  • @kirsconz

No, like the commentator says at 1:15 it's a "confidence dab"

They're making sure the brake pedal is still there and has pressure.

  • the commentator is mark skafe 0.25 a confidence dab to bring the brake up

  • What is the sense of pushing the break for just a half of a second before breaking hard into the curve?
