  • Can't imagine what it would have been like to have seen Monk Live...awesome!

  • I never understood jazz for this very reason... Do they write lyrics, but just don't sing them? Or did this guy write lyrics after?

'Cuz jazz always sounds like musical singing. It's like the lead instrument is always singing a song, but you don't gotta have lyrics for people to understand it... Or at least that's what I thought it was until I heard songs with lyrics to them.

    O.o

  • @BLACKIESBOY Monk wrote this tune years before Jon Hendricks put lyrics to it. The one beef I have with jazz singers writing lyrics to jazz tunes is that they're too often about jazz or the musician who wrote it. For example, Hendricks' lyrics to Monk's Rhythm-A-Ning...are about Thelonious Monk...

  • I think the earlier recording beats this one

  • I this the same guy whjo put lyricas to chick coreas i remember bud?

  • Just love it.

Monk is perfect, every time I listen his works I feel so good.

  • @Thechilihot on the contrary i feel empty inside knowing i will never be able to play with a fresh original sound as monk

  • Long time, man sure sounds sweet as if it was just yesterday... listing to sweet monk again... thanks Modupe/O Se Pupo
