  • Is this supposed to be more legit sounding than pop? I don't really know the show

  • He trained at NYU Steinhardt as a vocal major, and if you saw him actually play this role in the most brilliant college production there has ever been, you wouldn't be so quick to call someone untrained. In the context of this concert, it was a very pop/rock evening.

  • jay johnson is my herooooooo

  • young vowels... not right for the song.

  • @wtk554874 I agree. Good voice, but not the right style for this song.

  • @wtk554874 young vowels? I never heard that term before. Pure vowels not used? Too poppy? Clarify someone?

  • @bwaywrestler3564 untrained, under-developed. like what you get from singing along with the radio for practice. haha

  • @wtk554874 Yeah, untrained. NYU Tisch (and 2 Broadway shows and a national tour before the age of 25) untrained. We should all be so talentless.

  • 2:52 Gavin Creel would be proud of the warm vibrato-tastic sound here!

  • ps: Congrats on HAIR :-)

  • Adam Guettel is genius when it comes to music.

and jay has such a gorgeous voice, :)

  • "How Glory Goes" is among the most beautiful songs ever written for the musical theatre. Jay Armstrong Johnson's performance in this video is terrific, but the song is even more moving, when experienced in the context of the rest of the play.

  • Breathtaking.

  • beautiful! you really did this song justice, Bravo!

  • Karen, thanks for another great post. Your channel is wonderful.
