Yeah, it fixes a lot of the problems. My point, though, was that Activision canned a company that gave us two great games.

It's still one of my favorite games as well. It's just full of bugs and glitches that the developers would have ironed out if Activision hadn't canned Troika Games. They made both VtM: Bloodlines and D&D's Temple of Elemental Evil. Both are have their fair share of glitches, but are otherwise great games. Should Troika have been given a chance to prove its worth, they'd still be making great games for us.

Even knowing my way around this level, it still has the power to creep me out. Even with my regular computer speakers, it sounds like the ghost is right behind me when she's whispering to me.

I first played this game while, believe it or not but I've got plenty of people who can vouch for me, I lived in a creepy, old, possibly-haunted former caretaker house in a cemetery. Possibly, as in I put my hand through one ghost and a friend put her hand through another one.

@Limited305 Flawless? It has so many glitches and bugs that even the patches don't address. It's a great game, but Activision fired the folks at Troika games before they could really finish the game, much less put together the multi-player mode like they wanted to. I'd love to see a new version. With Steam, we could get a new one.

When I played VtM I watched this video just to be alerted about "surprises" and be ready to it. When I walked in a hotel I forgot where to go and went to the left corridor at the first floor. It was a dead end. "Oh well, it must be on a second floor then" I thought. But when I turned around for a very brief moment I saw A FUCKING MANIAC WITH AN AXE STANDING RIGHT AFTER ME. A way to make this level even scarier was if they hadn't put in the visual effects when things are thrown at you or wobbling and such, the purple smoke and crap, it would've been much more scary to just see things wobble and shake then get thrown at you...especially in the kitchen part of the level.

Then a couple rooms on the third floor. My best advice? get a good walk-through and enable the console. Both will help immensely.

Dunno if the video showed it but after you get the pendant and you are back in the main hall (the 1st room you ever enter). Face the fallen chandeler and go to your far left and walk towards the dead end *dont read on unless you want to ruin it for you* when you turn round the guy will be standing there with the axe but will quickly dissapere.

I think probably cause you are the character rather than just the viewer so it's more immersive and therefore scares you far faster. It's also very simple scares compared to the stuff that is out today to be honest. Simple scares work better in video games.
