He was one of the best - ever!!!! Right up until about 1983 he was as good as they get. Iggy, Elvis, Jagger, Frankie Venom was right up there with them at his peak. He kind of lost the spirit after '83 or so, but for years he was just the best. You couldn't take your eyes of him when he performed. The best, man, the best!!! Loved him - and the Head too, of course.
I grew up in the 80s seeing this guy numerous times over the years from Larry's hideway to Entex to the Hard Ball more recently. He was explosive and really gave it his best. RIP Frankie !!
I'm sitting here shocked as I had no idea that he had passed away. After finding out he died in October I now realize I was out of the country on vacation. I remember the first time I ever heard Teenage Head I was 16 years old {1978} and I thought they were incredible.
How could you not like Frankie Venom and Teenage Head??....they kicked ass and they were Canadian!!!!
Frank ,when I met him at Club Davids one of the first clubs they played, well we met, spoke, super fella...luv on ya..Lrry's Hideaway,The Edge,The Shoe,Crash n Burn....I hang my head in sadness ,even today.
I remember Frankie and I watching the Leafs together in that bar opposite the old Gardens. He was a straight shooter and a very warm hearted guy. He went out of his way to be kind to me, way back then. We lost touch over the years (I left Canada) but I've always remembered his kindness. Rock on Frank.
Sorry, don't know Paul Star. It was very hard shooting this tribute to Frankie & only got people who were interested being on video. Lots of people passed because talking about Frankie on Sunday was just too difficult. That's why I'm not in the video myself.
I'm still shaken up by the untimely death of Frankie. Thanks for all the touching reminiscences from some of the memorable personalities of the Golden Horseshoe. But where's Paul Star?

What a terrible thing to say. Frankie inspired loads of people, and if you have a problem, keep it to yourself. Tactless ass.
