yeah bro one can make a ton of cash!!! I live and work at one of the refineries in the Bay Area, not petrochem though, but still cracking molecules and refining it. I hear you on not really trying...its hard work on a 12 hour graveyard shift, watching movies:) but when the shtf and alarms go off, thats when it counts.
stay frosty at there protecting the public...aloha brah!!!
@hazmat904 Lol, graveyards and movies. You are so right. I have to admit though when a pipe or pump breaks and the unit is about to explode... all those easy days are earned back big time.
@hazmat904 I worked in California (the bay area has about 5 refineries) but we all trained at the fire science academy in Elko Nevada annually.I miss that oil money for sure!!! It was dangerous but we made $100k without even really trying. During turnarounds (shutdown maintenance) we could make $20k in one or two months with OT. The good old days!
Why did you end up leaving the department? I'm in the explorer program for our department, there's people that I wasn't friends with before that I now trust with my life, which is a great thing. You had a beautiful ladder truck!
@HedgehogOutdoors Very true. The perks are a little better too. HR218 is nice. Being able to carry concealed in all 50 states without a permit is very very nice!!!
