  • thankss drill

  • I had one of these. It now makes for a very attractive paperweight. AVOID.

  • I've had 4 x 1.5tb Ultramax Pro's...2 have FAILED and 2 were damaged due to Iomega's poor packaging of the refurbished (yes, refurbished) replacements they sent to me. The Ultramax's also have VERY poor ventilation and causes the hd's to heat up to the point where you can't keep your hand on one for more than a fraction of a second. NOT GOOD. I will NEVER purchase an Iomega product again. Lesson learned.

  • @tomcouturephoto who in the hell told you to buy refurbished one lmao... man that bound to fail..

  • @charlesdean03 No one, IOMEGA sends out refurbished units as replacements, not new ones. I had to take it to the corporate level for them to send me a new boxed UltraMax Pro which very soon after I got it, also failed. The enclosure is complete junk. Get a QNAP or Drobo if you want reliability.

  • I bought a 1TB and a Silver service warranty less than a year ago. It failed within six months. They sent me a refurbished pos. It ran for about 3 months. They sent me another POS, it ran for about 1 month! I am awaiting another POS replacement. Do not buy this junk.

  • My Iomega failed. They won't honor the warrantee. It's only 10 months old. They claim it's out of warrantee. Very loud. Don't buy from them.

  • I bought two of their 1TB drives. They are both loud. Then the fans turn on and they get a lot louder. Intolerably loud.

One drivesstarted to fail after about 10 months. I managed to get my data off. Reformat. The drive failed again. The warrantee is one year. I contacted Iomega via their web site, typed in the drive serial number and it said my drive was not covered by a warrantee.

    Do not buy their drives.

    Do not buy from Iomega.

If I could I would give them zero stars.

    Beware of Iomega.

  • get headset :D thats what i did lol

  • or buy a silent fan

  • I just lost 500 GB... thing died for no reason, I couldn't access anything on it today, so I moved the thing and it just started making scraping sounds and fried itself. I hate Iomega.

  • Your power supply is gone. Iomega claims that they sell spare - out of stock all the time.

La Cie uses the same power supply - same problem. Both companies claim that it is normal to buy a new power supply every year. That is, if they had them in stock.

  • No, it gets power, it just makes scraping sounds as if the hamster inside is smoking crystal meth while running on his wheel.

  • That's exactly what my drive did when the power supply got bust.

The green light is on, blue light's on the front of the drive and scraping noise.

I changed the power supply - all symptoms gone. And this happened with all THREE of my drives.

  • why doesnt it have eSATA?!?!

  • Iomega sucks. I used mine three times. once to take all of the data from an old computer.

two times to look for something, and tonight. clicking noise. if you call iomega to get your files back. $5000.00 boycot Iomega
