My pocket pistol is a taurus PT 145 pro .45 my pistol I carry on my hip is a beretta 92F 9mm and I carry a .38 SPL derringer , I'd never carry anything less . Don't wast your money on a .25 A .22 is a better defense weapon for you that want a pee shooter.

Shoot a Kel Tec 9 BEFORE you buy .

They're OK but will hurt and numb the web of your hand with repeated firing.

K T needs to re-design the grip on it.

.380 firing a +P with an SXT, FTX or Hydra-Shok slug is the ABSOLUTE minimum for self defense. Anything less than that is way too risky.

Remember, I said "self defense" not "Termination". For that, the Mossad, CIA, KGB,Spetznaz etc. has taught us that sub-sonic .22 is "Just The Thing".

The Abbottabad shooter probably used .45 Kimber.

@warriorofsteel01 .22LR kills more people than any other caliber. And you can get some pretty hot .22WMR loads (Most NAA minis are available in .22 Mag). Most self defense shooting is done inside of 5 feet, I don't know about you but I'm not real big on catching bullets of any size at any range, .22 at that distance is going to hurt.

I just watched a personal defense video for the baby browning in 25 acp. Larry Poterfield ranked 25 acp only 1 point higher then 22 short. I personally don't really like either but the 22 short shouldn't be over looked. Though a knife may be deadlier a 22 short still gets you outside of arms length.

@NielsBlok567 I've tried the browning .25 and its marginal as a self defence weapon. It has bullet drop at 25m(I know its for close range use, but it speaks volumes about the lack of power behind the 6,35mm bullet.) Hollowpoints are probably not a good idea as penetration is poor as it is. I've heard of heavy leather jackets slowing down bullets of this caliber, and forget shooting somone behind a window or any other object. The larger calibers in the video will do much better.

Thanks for the great review. I used to carry a .25 Raven pocket pistol. It was small with maybe a 1 1/2 inc barrel. But it had great accuracy, and never had a failure to fire or a stove pipe.

People don't understand pocket pistols. First off they are very loud because of the short barrel. Second no one likes being shot. I was with someone who shot herself in the foot with a .22 short target round .. She was in pain for about three days. The gunpowder gets under your skin and just BURNS.

There's no such thing as "probably not" in the self defense world. There's only the goal of stopping the target. There's more to the perp than possibly wearing body armor, but also being on drugs. PCP is a dangerous drug, and people on PCP can take an entire magazine before dropping to the ground. The size of the round has little to do with penetration, but the grain of the bullet. I trust bigger rounds to stop my target in one shot.
