@Miketwo222 the song "somewhere over the rainbow" is definately from wizard of oz! not the uke version obviously but geez everyone knows about wizard of oz
The place I would suggest using e7 would be the bridge, not the chorus. The chorus already has two chords change from the first half to second half- c, g, f, c to c, g, am, f. The bridge is the same both halves- c, em, am, f to c, em, am, f.
I do like the progression of c to e7 to am, but I don't think it sounds better in this song.
Somewhere Over The Rainbow is in the key of c, there are not any sharps of flats in the range. g to am is g b d to a c e. e7 is e g# b d, in the key of a.
The accidental sounds cool, because of the g, g#, a on the fourth string. But that clashes with the melody.
Thank you for posting, but for the perect of the ukulele and Brutha IZ, you pronounce the name as IZREAL KAMAKA VIVA OLE......Also for the meaning of the instrument....the uku'lele is pronounces OOKOO LEIGH LEIGH. Its stands for 'dancing fleas". When the Hawaiians first saw the guitar being played they thought the fingers moving looked like flead junping (dancing) around........Just some fun facts to know. Always with much ALOHA!
DOWN (slight pause), down up. (slight pause). up down up DOWN. <Think of the capitol letter 'DOWN's as the same down. That is where it loops. I hope that helps and isn't super confusing. I think it will help you get the rhythm.
yeah man there's a mistake... the chords are C, Em, F, C, F, C, G, Am, F and then start all over again. you missed the final Am and F part and played a looong C instead.
i was just joking around. i have great respect for the music of israel kamakawiwo'ole. it would be as if i were to say "arnold schwarzenegger" as "arnold schwarjasnaegganogear".
omg ur good :D i wanna learn but i cant do that with the hand ur not takign the tabs with ui know the hand where u have the pick i cant do it right. :(

{chords C E AM F}
{strum pattern down up mute up down mute }
{note pluck the c string before each time u repeat the strum pattern so at the begging each time ur about to stum}
anyone reading this just try out this and it sounds just like the song somewhere over ther rainbow
UkuleleBoi671 2 years ago
hah no. if youre playing in the key of c, the E would be a minor chord.
and there are a lot more chords than just C Em Am F. theres G, Dm, E7, Am7.
dont try to simplify this song aha
ezekill22 2 years ago
cant u just play G instead of Em? cuz thats easier
blakeiscool87 2 years ago
you can, but it would be wrong aha
sure it switches between the two, but if you wanna play it right you gotta play em.
just do 0432. it makes it much easier. its still an Em chord
ezekill22 2 years ago
yeah man there's a mistake... the chords are C, Em, F, C, F, C, G, Am, F and then start all over again. you missed the final Am and F part and played a looong C instead.
