These community members meant well by giving this interview, but editing is always on the side of TV networks. Just give up already. It was a valiant effort. Medically, you are right, vampirism cannot be diagnosed or isolated, which in this day an age, means that it cannot exist. But surely you're not foolish enough to believe that there are not people in this world who BELIEVE that they physically need blood. A vampire cannot live forever, no, but could have some qualms about going into sunlight - some people cannot do this anyway without getting sick or horribly burnt. Blood drinking would be a part of this culture. I think its more like a New Age culture, like Wicca and mysticism. Don't judge other people before you know what they're all about.
