And it starts off being about school + friendship (thought it was gonna be just another school gang movie) but soon morphs into something else with the introduction of the veteran actors. Characters had depth and the 3 main leads were HOT. which helped. Made me laugh, cry and want to be a gangster. Watch this.

@powerhungrymice You're right... I was looking for the same school gang movie like Once Upon A Time In High School, but it turned out to be a really really excellent character study and the cinematography was incredible, just beautifully shot!!!

Saw this on the plane by chance. I was blown away. Some of the shots could've been artsy for arts sake but weren't. The use of Taiwanese Hokkien helped to keep it close to the heart and local. The use of young current actors to portray another decade + costumes = quirky.

One of the best Triad/brotherhood movies I'd ever seen!!!! Imagine if Amelie, Au revoir les enfants, Once Upon A Time In High School, and election had a an orgy party and Amelie had a baby, it would be this movie... If you have never seen a new wave Taiwanese film before, start with this one.. It is beautifully shot, the score is moving and the acting is contemporary arthouse.. I recommend this gem to everyone!!!

Wow, I just watched this movie and IT WAS FCKING AWESOME. It is not ur casual gangster life with drugs and alcohol but based on the lifestyle that they live in that situation. I forsure recommend this film to anyone!!!
