I do like the demonstration Clay, nice work. I am a jerk so I will suggest that you (probably not your kids) get a litttle long with the ball as you rotate the shoulder through the drive line. It pulls your stride leg outward and saps your linear momentum a bit. I slowed the vid down to see this.Perhaps when you work the hil this isnt an issue. You are still in my modest opinion, very good at what you do. Keep up the great work. People, kids- Clay is the real deal....
He gets his elbow up nicely before he throws, but when he comes through i think it looks like he's dropping his elbow and gettin under instead of on top of the ball.. Maybe it's the camera angle? or maybe cuz he's not throwin hard? Any thoughts anyone?
@Ellodeycallmesexy I agree, it does appear to be below the shoulder and to drag the hand out and away from the body. In spite of this I still feel it is good instruction.Execute these as he describes and you will improve. "do as I say, not as I do' sort of thing...
Excellent view, greatly appreciate the time you took to put this together. Whether or not you agree with every piece of it or not, it is excellent tips to get people with the proper motion...
Excellent instruction. Thank you for the great demo on throwing. As a tennis teaching pro this is a very helpful teaching tool for me. As the tennis serve and throwing a baseball have simular charactaristics. The young kids who have never thrown before throw with a patty cake motion and drop there elbows. Your video has help correct this problem. Continued success coach. 5*****
The other reason that you want the non-throwing arm to move to the "chicken-wing" is that the centrifical force the arm rotation causes -- basically, it assists the core rotate faster.
@nunuvyerbiznis His leg mechanics are a little sloppy, but thats ok and it does not mean he cant teach it well. At least they apear to be in this illustration. He probably tightens it up when he teaches the lower half.
Pretty solid advice. Much better than most YT videos. Thanks
