  • aaaaaaaaand seek & destroy???

  • This is certainly when they were still wild i dont think these r the old days tho.

  • James' voice in the Justice Tour gives me goosebumps

  • i love this concert though got this shit on video

  • old xD black album tour san diego?

  • So what if James does not get drunk until he vomits and sleeps with some random whore? He is much better now and he is guaranteed to live a much better healthier live, so what if he blew up his voice? He still has it and he still could sing like that if he wanted to, so what if he does not headbang as much?He is in his late 40s you shouldn't expect lars to be able to Dyer's Eve at that age but yet they all kick more ass than ever

  • @motorstorm78 I agree. I still love them no matter what! My point is just that nowdays all their shows are very similar,... not so wild, unique and spontaneous as they used to be.

  • @wsrdtfvb its the last caress (cover song)

  • Fantastic! Thanks for putting this together.

  • this was their best tour!!!

  • what song is at :40?

  • @wsrdtfvb

    Last caress

  • yeah... someone has to invent a time machine :O

  • @tevamcgilliss He we go again with the "I´ve been a fan since the Kill´em all days, so i´m a bigger fan than you". This is still about 20 years ago and they are playing even older stuff, so I would agree with the old Metallica comment.

  • 0:40

    Is that the Misfits?!

  • @ShredWithEd Yes, Metallica has made 2 Misfits covers.

  • Hm, MetallicA now is great for WHO they are I find.

I'm not some old-school OLD METALLICA ONLY fanboy or something, as I got to know MetallicA from like... 2001 I believe.

But I do not like their last album much, I even prefer St. Anger as it much more raw and all.

I also do NOT like their performances today, especially not their sound.

It's been going from dull to duller since 1994... I don't know what that is.

Maybe their gears needs to be overhauled or whatever... at least for recording.

  • @DamageIncM yea ur right, the sound is so freaking different and sucky. That is also why modern rock and metal kind of sucks, well in my opinion

  • 8:14 GAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @YepWeMakeVideos Is that really what he said :O ?

  • @YepWeMakeVideos what?

  • @BeastlyHearts21 listen to hetfield

  • 1:25-so that's wat jason's bass sounds like in this song o_O

  • metal forever!!!!!

  • omg im drinkng right now and this is the far bast video ive seen on youtube omg i fucking love metallica old and new. i love all albums new n old...forever will metallica live...ALL HAILL""""" METALLICA"""""

  • Venom Rules!

    I love the old metallica

    i hate the new metallica

  • whats the song 1:10-2:11 ????

  • @dipsetjjj1 Blackened

  • this is not old metallica they had at least 5 albums before this tour. how old are you 16?

  • every decade has its music. and every decade one type of music is more popular than others, and at the moment, in my opinion thrash metal is not as big as it should be. but in my prodiction i think there are people out there (including myself) thinking there needs to be a change in music and thrash bands need to be popular again. BRING BACK THE 80'S THRASH!!! we will one day have our thrash music back even if it takes decades. IT WILL HAPPEN!

  • @Jimmyv691 dam straight

  • metallica fucking rocks but can anyone explain whiskey in the jar-honestly wtf is that

  • @noahwyatt23 Just a cover of Thin Lizzy´s whiskey in the jar?

  • ...The Peak of Metallica

  • i miss metallica.

  • I hate how on every video about Metallica there is a debate about the fast or slow stuff. or about Metallica vs Megadeth. fast and slow years both kick ass. Megadeth kicks as much ass as Metallica but with his own stuff that sounds different from Metallica. and Dave is cool with James and Lars so can everybody drop it and just headbang? thumbs up if you agree

  • \m/ R.I.P cliff! the old metallica died when Robert Trujillo joint not becouse of him but then they all played slower and became father......

  • @ocinshultz Shut your f**king mounth! They deside how fast they want to play kid! Theres no old metallica or new metallica.Theres only one METALLICA!

  • @raz0rcarich99 he calm down i only have a opinion so if you dont agree ok but dont go wild...

  • \m/ R.I.P cliff!

  • Imagine 1983-james singing with this voice.... O_O

  • totally. and big dick is no insult. try "harder" small brain!

  • dam. when i clicked on this i thought i was gonna get older metallica or the good metallica.

  • damn last caress sounds awesome :D

  • crap

  • What is a perfomance when 1 and 2 songs?)

  • @Jackyy32 san diego 1992 :D

  • 89>91

  • I've been listening for so long the Black album is still New Metallica to me!

  • I should admit: I don't like that much of Metallica, but they definitely were an energetic band in the 80's/early 90's.

  • Comment removed

  • Metallica are such goodie 2 shoes now. Id be surprised to hear james say a cuss word nowadays.

  • @yfm4450 i kinda agree, but they are getting old, theres nothing to do, everyones getting older and more tired, so are they

  • @yfm4450 He swears on Big 4

  • 4:05 Leave me in peexD

  • i think that if james still had his voice, they be this good still

  • @KillRideMasterAnd ya, but its hard to keep a voice like that going for so long

  • @elmasshop yeah i have to agree, im an avid metallica since they have started, of course change is inevitable...the mighty hetfield roar is gone...he did blow up his voice...but its metallica...pure respect from the guys who literally invented pure amreican metal...METALLICA rules.....\m/

  • Fix me, fuck!!

  • Goddamn, if they only had another drummer...they would have bang even more

  • The voice at the time was epic

  • maybe the show istnt as wild as it used to be in the 80's and 90's. BUT, dont we all geht a little bit calmed down an quiet over the years? the fact that they still play great metal music doesnt mean that they have to get a huge action show going. Its the sound that matters, the electricity between them and us, the fans. and thats still there, its all around in every single show no matter where on earth they play. my last gig was last year in may in munich and man, they rocked the house!

  • Metallica sucks without Jason/Cliff, Rob's good but both of those people brought so much energy to the band, along with alcohol as the fuel too. When Cliff was in the band he wrote most of the music. Then in the 90's they started writing stuff that wasn't as complex but I'd say in the 90's it was more about their live show, which Jason was a large part of. Now with Rob he doesn't have a very big stage presence and I think that has a large part in making the shows slightly less exciting.

  • they just dont build'em like they used too.

  • ive said that Metallica's "energy" left with James' hair...

also, he was pretty buff in this vid o.o

  • i can admit that seattle was great :o many other shows were great... but still, the best SHOWS were at the master of puppets tour with cliff on the bass guitar.

they were banging their heads so fucking hard, especially james.

    peace & love :)

  • this is no friggin old days, this is ''stairway to sellout'', old days are from ''No life 'Till Leather'' to ''Master of Puppets''

  • jason's stage energy is amazing :D

  • They are better now with the old James Hetfield 's voice !!

  • awesome quality!

  • speakers dont turn up loud enough!

  • i feel proud to own 1989 on dvd

  • 4:57 lol justice says raped xD

  • A kid I know says that he doesn't like metallica cuz James sings too quietly. WTF?

  • @willdroz21 Random...

  • well i would say 1983 was more wild than this

  • Great vid, awesome compilation. God I miss the old days

  • What is that about old Metallica and new Metallica?? Do you have any mental problem or something?? I love Metallica, I like the all time Metallica, I like Cliff, Jason and Robert, and also I like all of their records. That's why I don't understand when you talk about the old and new Metallica.

  • @elmasshop

You are completely right... Metallica is still great. I was at their concert two months ago and it was amazing BUT... you have to admit that the show isn't so wild and unique anymore like it was in the "old days".

  • @11lp only because they are almost 50 years old man..

  • @11lp a lot of this is due to band problems. theyre not as close as they used to be

  • @11lp well they are heading into their 50s, and these clips were from around 20years ago so

  • @11lp well, i guess they are getting older and become matured, that's why their show aren't wild as they used to be... but u got it right, and they are still great.

  • @11lp And the songs..... are not the same.......

  • @11lp They're not in their 20's anymore dude..hope you realize that.

  • @allardtheone

That's no excuse. Venom is older than Metallica (and was one of Metallica's major influences), and they still rock harder than Metallica can today.

  • OLD Metallica was good I agree

  • @elmasshop there's a big difference between kill 'em all, black album, reload and fuck st. anger

And the first records is what people call the real metallica, cuz that was when they played something unique, then they actually kinda sold out..or something..

but I like load and reload aswell..not the two last albums

  • @elmasshop fool shut up its an opinion many people share. respect that and stop hating. just live your own life

  • @randyvanhalen84 and why the insult? i guess you don't even now what an opinion is because first you must learn respect, peace dude

  • @elmasshop what was the insult???????

Damn you must be a sensitive bitch or something

  • @randyvanhalen84 ok good bye big dick, i will not respond anymore just by respect for Metallica

  • @elmasshop hahahaha you called me big dick! thats what a bitch calls her daddy fool!

metallica would spit on you for being a little bitch hahahah

  • @elmasshop Ugh you fan boys make me sick! Any true metallica fan will admint that metallica post Black (and thats being very generous) is not the metallica of old, when they were thrash. I guess you can't admit to yourself that they sold out, sued their fans for doing the same thing they once promoted themselves (trading bootlegs tapes is no different then downloading MP3s), except now they were rich, has beens. plus Hetfield blew his voice out after Black. Sad to see how far they have fallen..

  • @MrShredtilldead thanks for expressing your opinion. Also i hate those Metallica fanboys, all i do is listen to their cd's and sometimes i watch any(?) dvd, that's why i don't get when you say "they sold out". if they don't sell records they just wouldn't be touring all around the world dude, i know that you refer to the style of load and reload, but may be you should look for another expression than 'sold out'

    Wht i dmit s that there's ben a chnge in load n reload, n i accpt it. can't write +

  • @elmasshop My term "sell out" refers more to the act of them sueing their fans for distributing mp3s of their music, when almost 20 years earlier they promoted/endorsed their fans to sharing bootleg tapes of their music and passing them out among people. That is no different then downloading an mp3. How they sold out was the act of targeting your fans, the people/reason as to why they are rich now, and sueing them for doing the samething 20 years earlier. Completely hipocritacal.

  • @MrShredtilldead oohh i see your point now, thanks for explaining. Yeah, i think you have good reasons. Nice to share ideas with you ;)

  • @elmasshop It's not so much "Old/New" It's more like "Wasted/Sober" I mean you can deny it or not, but before they got sober they had a lot more...fire lets say, even if they got more famous, if they kept drinking they might still have it (or be dead already) but that's beside the point haha

  • @ridethelightning64 yeah it's true, i prefer to have them alive now, just to contrarrest(?) all the crap that some people call music today

  • @elmasshop Yeah same haha

  • @elmasshop I think he means this = Old metallica = before St Anger

  • @GanjaPharmzor old metallica = before the black album

  • @8thEastTexasBlues In my opinion, they went from Great (kill em all, ride the lightning etc) to worse, but still good, (black album) and then to pure tRASH, and death magnetic is o.k. but it is overrated as fuck

yeah great fucking english as always = (

  • @GanjaPharmzor the black album had some decent songs but to me it was the beginning of the end

  • @8thEastTexasBlues Too right mate, I used to be a huge fan of the black album, but then I started listening to their older stuff from kill em all and ..and justice for all and the raw sound got me hooked. Now i listen to the black album occasionely (?) but ride the lightning and stuff is my no. 1 choice.

  • @elmasshop

you're totally crazy ... You don't understand a fuck 'cause you don't realize the enormous difference between the metallica of yesterday and today. porco dio

  • @elmasshop can you really not hear the difference in the first 4 albums and then everything elese after that?

  • @elmasshop old metallica is incredible and really good, unique complex music. new metallica is over produced, shit made for money and money alone. kinda like all popular music now.

  • @NirvZppln94 i agree it time for metallica to make a return to the old school sound

  • @elmasshop lol you have got to be the stupidest fucking human being......

  • 11lp...you are absolutely right... new Metallica still good, but never as wild, than those days

  • 8:15 = GOD

  • hey what song starts at 220?

  • @cmadd123

"For Whom The Bells Tolls" the 3rd song on the album "Ride The Lightning"

  • Ahh back when they were Aggressive and James could still sing! Some may not like Newstead, but he brought some anger with him that Trujillo just doesn't seem to have.

  • i never hear them do "harvester of sorrow", "dyers eve", "and justice for all", "escape", "motorbreath" or anything like that stuff anymore :( its nice to see live perfomances with some of those songs

  • Comment removed

  • METALLICA'S >STILL< KILLING ! \m/

  • great video ^^ Metallica Rulez !

  • F*CKIN COOL !

  • seattle 1989...

  • I would be fuckin great if there were more proshot footage with cliff around besides the cliff em all stuff and a few others here on youtube.

  • where is cliff? its not old unless cliff is playing!!!

  • ONLY OLD METALLICA

  • Old? the only way you consider the Black album era as "old" is if you´re less than 19 years old...which I believe the majority posting here is.

Old is before the Black Album days...and even before, up until Master of puppets. They became big with AJFA

  • @ElFrankus i know quite a few people as old as the band who'd consider 10-20 years back as old, difference of opinion

  • @ElFrankus lol yeahhh.

  • There is no new Metallica nor old Metallica there is just Metallica...the gods of rock.

  • wich one was the first song

  • @gijskeradijske Harvester of sorrow

  • metallica rocks!woohoo!!

  • i showed this to my friend and she thought they were bearded ladies!and said those are ugly women!then when she heard them she figured out they were dudes!HAHA!

  • is james hetfields head bigger than kirks?

  • During Blackened (1:25) Lars was hyped on cocaine and 'roids.

  • what about anesthesia live 1983 at the stone

  • Wow I think you like Sanitarium lol Ya showed it 3 times lol

  • arreeyouu fuuckiing crazyyy men? the best preformance of for whom the bell tolls was okland 1985!

  • i miss whiplash from san diego 92

  • metallica is from

    1981-1995

    2003 - present

    1996- 2002 they were bluesy D:

  • @NaxoAteo That's nice to think of them like that. But I'm sure I would do the same thing that they did since they thought of doing other types of metal music than just thrash.

The point is, is that you don't have to just play one genre of music. If you try other stuff, you might enjoy that. I even admit it does get boring afterwards playing metal stuff, so I tried out other things.

  • Ahh, I don't know but something has unfortunately change in the music after 1991/1992.... for me the symbolic end was 1994 - beginning of the hip-hop era.....

  • ah man when metallica ruled the world

  • @mattm4544 what are you talking about!? Metallica stil rules the world!!

  • @ASPEDBUSDRIVER1 And always will.

  • they still are rulling. METALLICA!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mattm4544 ..you´re right ! Now they´re a CoverPopBand....

  • This music is the most gratifying thing to happen to mankind since we descended from the trees and started walking on two legs

  • last caress isnt by metallica

  • You think this is Metallica's old days?

  • life is short, but metallica is huge, metallica!!!

  • 6:40 is why I play the drums.

  • metalicaaaaaa!

  • i missed this kind of james' voice!

  • Fuck Jamez is a great musician. This is when he was at his prime for me. Great vocals and dominating the guitar. Hell Yeah!!! \m/ \m/

  • maaan! Lars is beating the shit out of those drums! Nice sound

  • You can check the performances of 84-85-86 with cliff..they were really metallica!

  • acually their 1989 seattle preformance was better than this, check that shit out guys, find the good quality vids tho

  • @cerldude FIX ME, FUCK!

  • @cerldude

Don't forget Mexico City (93 and 09), San Diego, Nimes, and S&M

  • @cerldude I think moscow 1991 was a lil bit better.

  • @cerldude and Moscow

  • @cerldude you got much reason, I have this dvd and I saw him, I think, a million times, and still sounds aggressive. Long live MetallicA.

  • @cerldude San Diego in 1992 is fucking badass too =)

  • Hey, thanks, this is awesome. HAPPY NEW YEARS!

  • wtf old days? San Diego in 1992!

    Old days are 1982 man!
