Last I checked, if I "donate" my sperm to someone I met at a party/concert/funeral the "old fashioned" way (doing the horizontal tango), the FDA doesn't get involved in testing it for safety. Wouldn't it be less expensive and less painful to adopt a child if you have to get "some sperm" -- you could save yourself from troubles and get the "other child" while you are at it. It really sucks for all those orphans out there that people don't think of them at all.

From what I've heard, the chances of having deformed babies from incest is only slightly higher than from two unrelated parents. The major taboo is because we consider it to be mentally offensive, not really because of a very high chance of deformity. Thus, if two technically related people, say from the same sperm donor, didn't know they were related and had kids, the kids would probably be just fine. I hope they never find out the truth in that situation though.
