  • Would this work if one monitor is HDMI and one is VGA?

  • Do i need two of these vga to dvi connectors? Thanks

  • @javtex101 i dont Think you can extend it with a splitter. You just get the same on both as you said, you probably need two monitor connections.

  • How do I get sound on the second screen I have the monitor and then I have the computer hooked up with the HDMI. but can only get sound on the monitor not the TV how do I fix this problem

  • I bought a splitter but the view is duplicated and I can't extend the desktop

    What do I do!?

  • @Javtex101 I Have the Same Problem!

  • 66,666th viewer, creepy

  • crap, i don't have two monitors, oh wiat, i'm retarded

  • @noner101g

    lol

  • i have the Pc as shown in the Video, and i have an other extra video card with only one VGA. but my question is if i can connet two monitors where the the green part is that has Two options next to the Pink plugin.

  • @kromofamily The two green ports next tot he pink plugin are Serial Ports used for connection other kinds of IO devices...not video. The pink port is a LPT or printer port used for connecting a printer or other type of parallel port device (often high end software has a dongle for licensing that requires a parallel port). These are both "legacy" connections, as most I/O is done via USB ports.

  • why all use windows XP i need a toturial or Windows 7...

One question i have NVIDIA GeForce GT 430 can i dual?

  • Will this work if i use a port on the on board video card for one monitor and an installed graphics card for the other?

  • @gumdrops27 Maybe. Will depend on the capabilities of the specific system and BIOS settings. With some systems if it detects the presence of a graphics card, it will disable the onboard graphics chip. With others the BIOS may have options for allowing both to run at the same time and in that case, yes it would be possible to run dual monitors.

  • My graphics card has 2 ports 1 DVI and 1 VGA, can i use a splitter on the VGA because both my monitors run on VGA?

  • @jarrodyo You can get a DVI to VGA adapter to connect your VGA monitor to the DVI port.

  • @StudioDell thanks, I happen to come across one at a store and it works great.

  • okai, i got a DVI monitor and a VGA monitor and my graphics card has both a DVI port and a VGA port... going to get two adaptors to swap the connection types just for fun :D

  • classical technique, I've done almost 3 years, just by using betwin or aterXP, bahkan saya menggunakan 3 monitor sekaligus, semuanya berjalan baik

  • thank you very much this was sooo helpful xD i now have a dual monitor xD

  • hey i have a video card with 1 port and the standard part with another, which is not on any fancy video card. Will it work if I use those 2 ports, on different cards

  • my 2nd monitor keeps turning off ....

  • my graphic card has a hdmi port what do i need to do

  • when i got to the settings there is no two screens to click on it just displays one monitor but the other monitor i currently have hooked up is showing the same thing i am doing on the one i use. they are scyronized can you help me out?

  • @nyrnyr1107 then your graphics card cant heldle it

  • i can see two ports on it but one of them is DVI and the other is VGA can this still work???

  • @Sherman12345678 yes. plug a display into each. Then configure the graphics adapter's display settings.

  • @StudioDell How do I configure my graphic adapter settings? I have both connected, one in each port, but still not recognizing the second monitor as being plugged in.

  • my graphics card has one DVI port and 1 VGA port will this still work?

  • You can use 3 monitor by enabling both on board vga and gpu in BIOS

  • By enabling BIOS option "Enable both on board VGA and pci ex card by frame buffer mode " you can use dual monitor with graphics card supporting only one monitor.(connect first monitor to graphics card and second to on board VGA port)... By using two ports in graphics card one in onboard we can use 3 monitors

  • I have one port of VGA and would it work if i buy a splitter?

  • Hi, I have a monitor and a TV hooked up thru a dvi cable and a hdmi, respectively, I can use the extended desktop fine, but is there a way to see the same display in both screens? Everytime I try this, one of them stop display. I want to use the TV as a projector screen.

  • Will the taskbar extend to both monitors or not?

  • will it work if i have one dvi and one vga connection port in my computer?

  • Video is cool. Still i got problem. I got 2 port for my monitors and it works good before I reformat. After I reformat only 1 monitor is working what do I do?

  • two monitors are basicly pointless for gamers...because you usually can't see the character you are playing...does anyone agree ? :)

  • on my computer there is one port on the back. and there is a switch you can buy can you use this switch to use both ?

  • hey i watched this video and checked my pc and it only has one port and there are swirches that you can but, could you use this switch ?? or would you have to have a computer with two ports???

  • is it possible to have one DVI and one VGA monitor running at the same time?

  • Hey my card have DVI-D does it works? Cause i heard that DVI-D was only digital and well my samsung are analog what can i do?

  • Isnt this like a disadvantage to gaming? >_> I may be wrong..

  • @DJBr095 i play WoW and i find it an advantage, i put the game in windows mode then make it the size of one moniter then i put facebook and msn and all that on the other moniter, it helps me out alot.

  • yes if you have that type of video card, cuz some video cards have 2vga or 2dvi or both and some have hdmi as well.

  • Mine has HDMI, vga, and dvi-i..lool

  • Can i use one DVI cable and one VGA cable to used dual monitors

  • yep

  • @ddrfreak321

check out my video- i have one dvi and one vga graphics card. easy setup

  • yes u can, thats what i did for a long time

  • Can i use one DVI cable and one VGA to put dual monitors?

  • Please help me , i dont see 2 black boxes on priotories, just 1 :S HElp me i begg u

  • @affez1337 that means your comp cant do two moniters i believe

  • hi i'm using a desktop... can i use my lcd projector as my secondary monitor??? thank you

  • thank you StudioDell!

  • i have 2 monitors right now , i have the extended desktop added - i have alot of room to use - but theres something what i want

when i play games , and start them fullscreen - it starts the game in only one of the screens - it dosent use 2 of them.

i wish i had ATI card, i could use eyefinity and make it so simple with few clicks, with that i could make it work the way i want it

but i dont know hwo to do it with nvidia tools , please help

  • just un-maximize it, then expand the screen manually to both monitors by draging the edge of the folder. but dont press the maximum button on the game file. this is what i do

  • my brain can support an infinite amount of screens.

  • i have an xps 420, qaud core q8200, would this be capable of duel monitors?

  • Can I put my other monitor on the motherboard (built in) coz I only have one video card?

  • yea

  • @jbeebrylle You can't plug in a monitor to the monitor, but you could install another video card as long as you have the correct input/plug whatever in order to install it.

  • i have a hdmi connector and a dvi on the back of my computer my screen suports 1080p HD (1920X1200) and it looks great:P

  • my pc have five ports-2 vga 1 dvi 2 hdmi

  • Do I have to have two SAME monitors? Is there some prerequisite for connections? I mean ... can I connect one thru DVI and one thru HDMI ? Moreover can I connect a widescreen and a normal monitor ? Ty for any answers....

  • You can use any combination of monitors. I used to run a widescreen 19" DVI with a 15" square LCD VGA. HDMI + DVI works i know that.

  • aslong as you have the ports built into your computer, you should be able to use all of them. and you should be able to see by looking in the personalisation window anyway. just have a look at how many faded black boxes there are

  • i know my computer can handle duel moneitors but their is only one port to hook it up =\ i dont know what to do ..

  • You'll need to add another graphics card.

  • Hello, first of all, the instructions are usefull, but please inform your viewers correctly, the dvi to vga adapter does not convert anything, the dvi conector from your video card (not all of them, but most ) allready has the analog output, the adapter only takes the analog signal and routes it to the vga conector, and that's it, it does not convert analog to digitall like you said. Bye and I hope i there no ofense.

  • dont know much about this but i am trying to hook up a second monitor. i have 2 vga ports and two monitors that connect into them. the vga port connected to the motherboard is unresponsive and does not show up on the device manager. how do i enable it?

  • well it depends where the 2 vga ports are. if theres 2 ports on one card then im not quite sure what the problem is. if theres a intergraded video card which is the problem i had then. that would be if you added an extra video card on a pre made pc which most likley has a chip set. then your gona have to find a way to enable that onboard video card and even then im not sure if it will work

  • great!

  • lol sweet dual com ports ont the mobo... im sure thats as useful as the LPT port lolool :D

  • what if you only have 1 vga and 1 dvi. My tv supports vga and my monitor supports dvi. Will it still work even though it's 2 different connections.

Also, since the back of my lcd monitor has a vga and dvi port, can i use a hdmi to dvi cord going from my tv to my monitor. as in the tv isnt connected to my hub, just my monitor

  • yes. I'm soon doing a dual monitor setup 15 inch for information (like Xfire etc.) and my main screen a 19 inch samsung

  • OH ya one more thing If you stop and 1.42 you can see right above his hand its blue, is what i have, i belive

  • on my computer it has an AVG connetor and beside it it has the same thing accept it is the things and sticking out insted of in

  • Will a VGA splitter be sufficient for having two monitors? (male to double female)

  • I think it only works with a Nvida Video card, and laptops

  • if iam playing i game on one moniter can i encode on the other

  • Not unless you play the game in windowed mode.

  • i have 2 screens so i would like you ask you how can i lock one screen so i can move application from 1 screen to anotherand can i use 2 key board and 2 mouse 1 for left screen and 1 for right

  • Dual monitors on one system will increase your desktop real estate. You can move most applications to one monitor, you can't have independent control of one monitor with one set of kb/mouse.

  • Look up this video by Chilla Frilla here on YouTube: Tutorial: How to Set Up Dual Monitors (Vista)

The trick is after you configure your two monitors, slide the number two monitor over to the left of the number one monitor. Sounds crazy I know but just watch the video and you'll see.

  • im currently trying to set up dual monitors on my pc

-i have a gigabyte 4870x2 (has dual dvi also is a dual gpu card)

-everytime i try and set up dual monitors (in extend my windows desktop mode; i can get in clone mode) i get the error that i need to disable crossfirex (but i only have 1 4870x2)

was wondering whether it is possible to do and if so how

  • How do you run a game on one monitor and be able to click an application on the other monitor without the game minimizing?

  • Go into your games video settings and switch it to "Windowed Mode" that should allow you to move about you desktop/apps/webpages etc. on the other screen.

  • ok, quick question. if i have dual monitors and I run a full screen program or a game, will the game expand onto the other screen? I was wondering if i could.. lets say... play world of warcraft on the one screen whille having the other for msn and stuff.

  • depends on the application and graphics card. Most likely with WOW it may show the same thing on both monitors or blank out one monitor.

Most applications that can run in a window can be either stretched across both monitors or only shown on one monitor, leaving the other free for other apps.

  • thank you

  • hey do u have the same pc as me a dell precison 670?

  • I believe that is a 670 in the video.

  • cool :)

  • im trying to set up flight sim on 2 monitors having 2 nvidia 9800GT cards would you plug each monitor in each card, i've noticed you only had 1 card.

  • The card installed in that system has dual DVI, it can run two monitors from one card.

  • hey..can you have dual monitor if you have 2 monitor that are different in size?

  • Yes.

  • when i go to setting is dont see 2 black boxes im not sure but does geforce 7300 le support 2 monitors

  • I have the Same Graphics Card,

I was going to try this out.

If it doesnt workk i'll tell you.

    Hope it works

  • i remember my i bought a rgb to dvi connector to play my wii bang didnt fit i found out theres diffrent dvi also

  • Can someone tell me how to know if a graphics card will have two ports? Or if i have a sli setup will it be fine to have one coming out of each? Could i literally drag msn window onto one screen and have a game running on the other monitor?

  • Just count the ports on your graphics card. For example most current gpu's will have dual dvi ports (and maby a s-video out) while some earlier gpu's might have a dvi and vga port. As mentioned in the video, you can buy coverters for a few bucks if both your monitors only support dvi or vga and you gpu only has 1 of each. And about the multiple gpu setup: yes you will be able to run multiple monitors. And yes you can drag msn onto one of the screens and play a game on the other one.

  • Can someone please message me with a link as to where I can get that one white cable that will connect if it dosnt fit.

  • broth its called VGA TO DVI CONVERTER.. GOOD LUCK

  • ok wat if i have 6 conector for monitor that means i can hook up 6 screens?? cause my pc has 3 graphic cards ... cause i build it ..

  • perdy much man...as long as theres two connecters on each gpu and you have a shit load of screens!!!(do you have 6 freakin screens???)

  • hey there is not two black boxes when i bring up that thing please comment back i really want to know how to hook the two up i can get it to show the same thing on both screen but i can not get it to do one big screen if you know what is wrong let me know thanx

  • do monitors have to be the same "size" ? i have 24 and 19 inch.

  • No I have a 14.1 and a 17 inch and work perfect

  • Thats the reason we love Nvidia!!

  • so you need a VGA for your primory desktop and then another VGA cabel for your second monitor+DVI adaptor am i rite?

  • Maybe or maybe not. If your monitors uses VGA and you PC has to VGA outputs then there is no need for the adapter. The only time you need the adapter is if your PC has an output different than your monitors input. So if your monitors have DVI plugs but your PC has VGA outpugs, then you're going to need a VGA to DVI adapter and vice versa.

  • wait wait wait.....dude my computer is different(i think) cuz my vga connector is black and the other one is violet but WAAAAY bigger and by bigger i mean the cord/connector is like 3 cm bigger

  • How old is that system?

  • one question : i have dell ati radeon x300 laptop dual monitor built in how to set my secondary monitor as my primary because right now some software busted up my monitor please help
