I like the argument that people are having about this. However, don't you guys think it's weird that, since this ad was released in 2009, that they would prominently feature Capital Lights' song that is on this CD? I mean, it was arguably the most well received song on the album when it first came out.
The only thing I can think of is since Capital Lights is no longer a band, they decided not to use them as a selling point...
Still though, "His Favorite Christmas Story" is great.
Yes, but it was uploaded to ToothandNail's Youtube page earlier this month, making it seem like X Christmas was a new compilation when it really isn't.
You completely missed the principle behind it. Typically, a label or a band does not advertise an album as new if it's already been out for several months. You wouldn't expect to see a new trailer for a movie that released in 2005 would you unless it was being repackaged or re-released correct?
No, but that's exactly why this scenario is different- because it's Christmas music, not a new movie or new CD for typical mainstream music. People aren't generally looking for the latest release of Christmas music, so it makes sense to advertise older Christmas CDs because people are looking for it every year, regardless of release date.
Sometimes that's true, but new Christmas albums are released every year anyway, so re-presenting an older Christmas album might get confused as being new. It's likely to happen eventually.
At the end of the vid, when they put Tooth And Nail and BEC Recordings logos, why dont they have Solid States Records up there with them? Last i checked, ABR is a Solid States band
solid state is a part of tooth and nail so is bec, they can put up as many of their labels as they want. and since ALL the other bands aren't on solid state it wouldn't make much sense.
interactive media ruined how i watch everything. all i could think of while watching this was "this was made in after effects" but great songs :D!!!!!!!!
August Burns Red is the best in my opinoin hah

Honestly, what was the purpose of creating a new trailer for an album that's already a year old?

This trailer was released, just not on Youtube.

Believe it or not, Christmas comes around every year, so it actually makes sense to advertise a Christmas album, regardless of its release date.

Its just funny it was advertised a year after it came out is all ppl are saying.
