  • thank for explaining this in a simple and comprehensible way!

  • Nice this helped loads.

Does it work with a .mov file if you dont know a .mov file is where it opens in Quick Time Player?

    REPLY ASAP Thanks

  • I have a question. when i click to render it says that there is insufficient disk space and that i need to clear it up in the render manager. when I go to the render manager it is empty and there no files in there. why is that?

  • wow.. your computer is loud...

  • my video files in MPG format aren't able to open in quicktime and final cut express as well. will i be able to do so once i convert the files to MOV format? i'm having a lot of trouble finding a free converter as well! :(

  • hi there. can i ask - is it best to render clips one by one after they have been imported or all at once in one go? i noticed it takes an AGE to process if all together...just wondered how you did it- maybe one by one at a time?

please let me know. im fairly new to FC well, been learning it at uni but now have to make sure im super up to date with it for a job im going for :D

  • it doesnt let me click on import>files :/

  • i cant import .mov files. everytime i try importing a file it says unknown file. any help?

  • ok I do this but I import HD video and I want HD output but as soon as I import it it becomes like 440x240 or something small. Does anyone know how I can make it import as HD??? PLEASE HELP!

  • @cstreitercow Try right clicking on 'sequence 1' for example, then click>settings>load sequence preset and click the drop down menu and select 'Apple Intermediate Codec 720p25' hope that helps :)

  • @gbfilmproductions O M F G THANK YOU!!!! You're a fucking life saver man!!!! :D after searching for 3 hours on how to do it! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

  • @cstreitercow Haha no worries! Glad it worked for you. I had the same issue afew months ago, had to figure it out through trial and error which took ages, there's literally nothing on the internet about changing the aspect ratio.

  • @gbfilmproductions yeah no shit :P thanks :) you rock!

  • how do you import videos from your camera?

  • @AmyyAndCharliee Plug my camera into my iMac then just import :)

  • @gbfilmproductions Thank you :)

  • @AmyyAndCharliee I use a usb, I don't have a wire that connects it to the mac. Normally when I use imovie09 I put the usb in while its running and a window comes up with footage on and I select what I want. Its not the same on FinalCut.

  • @AmyyAndCharliee You have to export a video before importing into FCE. Or alternatively you can "log transfer" which lets you import directly.

  • thank you, this helps alot

  • I love you!! i've watched a million videos and yours explained everything!

  • Thank you

  • Thanks a lot great explanation ! :)

  • I'm just about to get FCExpress and this was very helpful. I'll probly have to watch it again with the computer in front of me. Thanks

  • This explanation was wonderfull..Hope you post others like this one...mmmm...would you please to explain a little slowly? Thanks

  • You know how you did that effect. Do you know how to set the effect to work on every video you have in the time line? so you dont have to do each video one at a time you can just do it all at once? Oh and i have have 80 subs now and i might be getting sponsored!!!! :D

    -Curtis

  • very useful, make part 2!!

  • It is somehow weird that FCE requires rendering when Sony Vegas don't. Don't want to advertise but will Apple do the same thing?

  • i never really liked final cut...it pissed me off bad

  • Thanks! great and thorough explanation...:) unfortunately - I don't own and can't afford an Apple computer :(

  • can you import from a camera

  • I think you will find keying your green screen a bit of challange because it is not entirely flat. flatter you get the screen the easier keying it will be. a little tip for when you are next setting up your green screen. also get as much light on to it as possible. It make editing the footage alot easier

  • You can just drop the effect in multiple times and key out more than one colour.

  • Very helpful. thanks.

i was actually thinking about getting it :]

  • Very good =)

  • Very helpful thanks!!

  • Great video Georgia! I can see that Final cut Pro and express don't have much difference visually.. I use pro but I think they are nearly the same, just a few differences,
