Most major Fire Alarm companies (with the exception of Simplex of course) who produce VECPs use Bi-Gender Messaging. They claim it's more calming. EST I know uses it, I have one on my programming disc.
@exvswatproductions That's not what I heard. I read on several online sources they had a Cerberus Pyrotronics voice system. Maybe one of the other WTC buildings had a Simplex system.
@wileyk209zback Besides, it would've had a Simplex 4120 if they used a Simplex system. A 4100 wouldn't probably be able to handle a giant tower complex like that. (4100s are fine for schools or hospitals or mid-range malls, though.)
@TssCman123 Actually I think it is a custom version of the Cerberus Pyrotronics message the standard programming is usually just the man's voice saying "May I have your attention, please! May I have your Attention, please! A fire emergency has been reported in the building. Please leave the building by the nearest exit DO NOT USE THE ELEVATORS!"
@hyperbaricchicken101 When the contractors are deciding what type of fire alarm to put in a particular place, they will generally have the company program a specific message for the job it's being used for?
Mine is really stupid- it says: Attention, attention, a emergency has been report in the building. Please consult the operations manual for evacuation instructions and proceed to the nearest exit or fire exit.
today our principle walked into my class during 6 period and said there would be a fire drill while we were doing a test. 15 minutes later, nothing. 10 more minutes later, nothing. then another teacher walked in saying there would be no fire drill so we relaxed and got back to the test were really concentrated on it. and out of nowhere: EEEER, EEEER, EEER!!!! the alarn went off. loud, really loud. the entire class started screaming and stayed that way for like 5 seconds. it scared the crap of us
I have to get this on DVD so I can show it to my English 10 teacher, Mrs. Newman. She is very strict when it comes to bad grammar! She will be calling up the maker of this system and give them a 3 hour grammar lessen!
Sounds like the English teacher I had during my freshman year of high school although Mrs. Ullman would get you for stuff you use all the time such as "make the bed"
there's one that asks "may i have your attention please. may i have your attention please..." if they stuck that in a dorm i can tell you no one would give that alarm any attention. this recording is weird though. it's so choppy it kind of freaks me out. and it English grammar is fantastic!?!?
yeah, but my mom had the siren driver replaced with a freaky ELK driver that makes this ultra-creepy slow-yelp(think of the System Sensor MASSADA's swept frequency tone), that scares the crap outta me.
I wish my school had that alarm instead of that annoying EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR sound
in 1964 13 year old Elisa Johnson was raped and murdered in North Carolina, her body was found with multiple stab wounds, and now that you've read this, every night she will come to your house and hang from your closet with glowing red eyes, the only way to stop this is to post this to 10 other videos. SORRY I DIDNT WANT HER IN MY ROOM
The fire alarm in my school speaks clearly, it doesn't stutter like that. "Attention...Attention...an emergency has been reported...all occupants move to the nearest stairway or main lobby...do not use the elevator...do not use the elevator..."
IT is the speaker in the alarm producing the voice and tone. The voice evacuation panel is simply something to program how an alarm functions. The bad grammar was probably programmed by someone who wasn't thinking.
I hear that when CP/Siemens makes custom messages, they take clips from programmed messages to create the new one. So, the reason why the voice isn't always oo "smooth" and why the grammar is poor, is because the message was "pasted" together...
Ah. I wonder if Faraday panels do the same voice evac messages. I know Cerberus Pyrotronics bought out Faraday in the mid-1990s, and then CP was absorbed into Siemens. And until recently, almost all of Siemens's fire alarm products were rebranded Faraday products.
Yep. My college has Faraday systems (they're still upgrading the old systems), but they use SpaceAge Electronics horn/strobes instead of Faraday or Wheelock signals in most cases.
Thats awesome that your dad works for Wheelock! He could get Wheelock NAs from his work. And SORRY! but I accidentally clicked the spam button instead of the reply button at first. Hope it doesnt get marked.
@inuic Actually, there other systems that use female voices. Silent Knight has one that uses a female and says "Attenion, please! There has been a report of an emergency. Proceed calmly to the earest exit and leave the building immediately. Do not use the elevators----use stairwells where necessary. All handicapped occupants shall use the building evacuation plan!"
Reminds me of the kid from Malcom in the Middle where they recorded and reassembled his words to say horrible things at an awards ceremony. Makes you want to reprogram this to say something dirty like "the..end..of..the world..is..near. please..have sex..immediately"
Thats an interesting fire alarm. Most alarms I know just make an annoying screech but yours can talk! (even if it does have bad grammar (u misspelled it btw)
