  • one of the very best from the amazing camera obscura. if anyone knows what they're up to now.. no dates no news that i can find..

  • might have to go because your eyes kill.

very good song for this song the knowledge and are good

  • i'm sorry there's is this one part in this AMAZING song dat i cant understand which is "when you act like a man who is crossed with evry woman he's never had".....

  • The harmony is aural ecstasy! Splendidly catchy and sentimentally hopeful

  • At first I thought I was imagining things, but yes, that's American signage.

  • so i think i get it...but what does the line..

" if its true looks could kill; then youd be the first to make me mad" mean?

  • @s23god If it's true then, you'll make her so mad that she might kill you just by looking at you. So you better go.

  • This is happiness in a nutshell :)

  • Please come to Maryland. Pleeeaaseee <3

  • Heard this song today on KROQ n loved it automatically !

  • this song is so awesome and has such a timeless sound and meaning, i can see some kid, 50 years from now, going through their grandma's music collection and falling in love with this song just as much as i have.

  • I heart Tracyanne Campbell :-)

  • great american hall in san francisco. i miss california...

  • @steevenroboto I noticed the sign too. I used to play there in the 80s and 90s. This song is beautiful.

  • Tell me where it all went wrong, maybe I can make it better. Ah

  • Appearance and being appearance and being

  • Listen up and pay attention, kids. This is how to write a pop masterpiece.

  • Great indie pop sound :)

  • גרובי

  • This song is fucking magic!

  • You guys definitely need to check out some progressive rock.

  • great song. i cant watch the video though, it makes me dizzy.

  • the videos blaise but i dig the tone forever

  • @keoshix U mad.

  • ARIZONA DAYS

  • fusion baby!

  • esta es mi canción favorita de Camera Obscura, junto con "the false contender", "razzle dazzle rose" y "tears for affairs"... pero me quedo con esta, forma parte de la banda sonora de mi vida!

  • Muy buena canción

  • One of The best songs of the decade (no doubt) and the band... Uuhhh I heard almost all their CDs and are amazings... When they come back again to Mexico city... I'll love it.

  • This song reminds me of all the vegetarian food I made during the summer. <3

  • this reminds me of my vacation in the usa

  • first time hearing this song...it reached 00:11 and i knew i'd love it!!! haha

  • Thanks for this refreshing video/song post

  • I really love this band. :D

I'm so glad Camera Obscura band exists!!

  • I saw Camera Obscura on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon a while ago and something told me to check out "Hey Lloyd, I'm Ready To Be Heartbroken" and it was love sweet love from that point on. I loved Lloyd but "If Looks Could Kill" is my absolute favorite song at the moment.

  • cool song

  • This song, when played loudly enough, always makes me think of freaked-out wiseguys (a la Mean Streets) crashing lots and lots of pastel-colored early 70's Dodge Pintos through plateglass windows. I don't really know why... but it's a baller song, anyway.

  • Cancion que me pone de buen humor si las hay

  • man. this is the sound of my heart soaring.

  • <3 this songgggggggggggggggggggggggggg

  • nice vid, nice song (Y)

  • seriously, marry me

  • Come to Argentina ♥

  • this song reminds me of the 80s

    pure nostalgia.

    seems diana ross singing

  • I like these guys. Their music totally rocks!

  • really loved CAMOB, they song and this video too..

  • Hipster Dufus DELUX? I think so

  • Campbell has indie goddess written all over. In some ways they remind me of the Cardigans for that delicious 'euro-americana/post-country music' sound they sometimes have. Anyone feel me? 'Long Gone Before Daylight'?

  • love it. höre es dauernd

  • coooool!! I like the description of supremes in an engineering workshop - that sounds =just perfect to me!!

  • q venga a chile

  • el video nom gusta muxo pero la song si!:]

  • Great song :)

  • Yep, the beginning sounds a lot like the Supremes. What a great song this is, catchy like hell. In the 60s and 70s, songs like this and "Lloyd..." would win Eurovision contests and make CO ultra-famous. Wrong decade for them. :)

  • After 30-odd years of buying records, I didn't think it was possible to recapture the sense of joy that you got from the first songs you fell in love with. I may have been wrong.

  • @idchilton agreed! but its only been 15-odd years for me. lol

  • Traceyanne Campbell is hot!!!

  • where was this filmed? Tuscon? they're from Scotland - they filmed their video in the desert! oh the irony! this is my most favorite song ever

  • i like her better with glasses. she should keep them on :p

  • Finally! Great music! Love Camera

  • Absolutely groovy - I love the stylings of this group. I truly do.

  • great song!:]

  • great song if girls aloud recorded this it be number one

  • Can't believe i havent favorite this...

  • I love the uplifting sound of this song. Love her voice too!

  • I love you guys, you are fantastic

  • This song just makes me feel good. Love it! :)

  • this band is a throwback, i love them.

  • so much irony, contradiction, and paradox in this world! i just do not what to think! i love this song. cant wait to see them on 8.4 cheers!

  • me encanta esta canción!!

  • all i know is that i found that this song by accident and at a particularly painful and terrible moment in my life. this song picked me out of my bed, slapped me in my face, and made me want to live! they're playing near me in Norman, OK on 08,April - i can't wair! cheers!

  • cool story bro

  • @mozhalwaystheday wow the power of music . hope its still working and your happy .

  • Camera Obscura live at the Music Hall of Williamsburg is up now! Watch the single featured on my profile!

  • i love this band:)

  • also 'belle & sebastian' and 'travis' are from glasgow (:

  • feels like summer

  • Like in Zooey Deschanel's character in (500) days of summer? =D

  • Another great band from Glasgow. Whats in the water there?

  • what other bands??

  • People and bands. David Byrne, Paolo Nutini, Franz Ferdinand, The Fratellis, The Cinematics. :)

  • Good stuff but you never hear this in the USA. I wonder why?

  • I hear camera obscura in the USA every once in a while. not as much as we should, but they are played in Texas occasionally.

  • Another reason to move to Texas.

  • more specifically, Austin Texas. good luck hearing them anywhere else in this state. -native texan.

  • arelys loves this song!!! she sick right now and its making her feel better!!

  • Muy buena canción

  • camera obscura is really a band that can make me get up and dance on the saddest of days.

  • she looks really good in those shades

  • yeah it really does sound like the 60s

  • the tune of this song reminds me of something from the 80's.

i have unconditional love for that era. nonetheless, i love this song <3

  • really? it it reminds me of something from the 60's with the horns and srumming little guitar....i cant wait to see them here in sydney in 2010, i absolutely love there music....i must of been a broken hearted teenage girl in my former life :D

  • They're coming to Sydney? When? Where?

  • Next year in March. I'm definitely going.

  • love this group they just get better all the time

  • I see downtown Tucson in this video :)

  • I am speechless. what the what?

  • Also, I think that might be the Plush sign at 2:10

  • honey in my ears

  • does she happen to be related to julian casablancas

  • Carey Lander is such a great organ player.

  • this song its really awomee :DD

    i love it!!

  • Couldnt have said it better myself. i stumbled into this song by accident and i think it is soo awesome.

  • this blew me away first listen, RadioActive in Wellington on the bus to work...looking forward to seeing them here next January since I missed them last time.

  • GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • love it !

  • good taste, very good long lasting taste of song. i love it. i like this oned and all camera obscura =)

  • like it

  • this is one of my favorite videos & songs ever. traceyanne looks so fine!

  • Where have I been??? I had never heard from this band before... what a mistake that was!!! In my record collection I have always showed off that I own every cd of 10, maniacs, the cranberries, the cardigans, mazzy star and even rilo kiley but, without this band´s cds my collection is short of being complete. Great band! This is an wxample on how music from europe is much, much better than the one produced in the american continent (the music from the Us sucks!!!! nowadays

  • the shins are good too ;D but yeah, US is producing a lot of "fake" or "plastic" music

  • You're crazy if you think the US only produces fake music today. You must watch their t.v. and take it as religion because there are so many good bands that'll blow you out the water. Try Andrew bird, the black keys, beirut, ascetic junkies, black rebel motor cycle gang, silversun pick ups, wilco, a place to bury strangers, parlor mobb, voxtrot, and many more. You just got to look, there are beauties to be found.

  • Do NOT forget St. Vincent!!!

  • Welcome to Camera Obscura

  • @nueve08 ha ha tell me about it . i honestly thought it was an old mod band from 79-80 when i heard it iv since been rectified and their another great band in my collection . brilliant stuff.

  • @nueve08

what a useless categorization, that 'music from the Us sucks'

  • @nueve08 great post....I am now a fan of them

  • @nueve08 i know that comment was a year ago but tell me you at least have a raveonettes cd

  • i love this song

  • They remind me of The Pretenders, I've had the album to which this song belongs sitting in my hard drive for a couple years, nice tunes, and Tracyanne Campbell's voice is the sound of all things good, nice and beautiful.

  • I'm absolutely ashamed to be 25 years old, a music fanatic, Scottish born and bred and until today I'd never heard of Camera Obscura. God knows how. Well impressed. Glasgow is a shitehole, but there are some cracking bands come out of that place.

  • @bluesfromagun84

I love Scottish people. I hope to visit Scotland someday. So many of you create great music and you have wonderful accents.

    Greetings from the U.S.!

  • The first time I played this, a friend of mine said "It sounds like Diana Ross and the Supremes playing live in an engineering workshop".

And that, if nothing else, is good enough reason to hail it as a classic.

    Quite superb.

  • @StanPomeray if dreamgirls was any indication of her in real life, then i don't care very much for Ms. Ross, but that movie probably wasn't even about them. Anyway, I think it's going to a be a classic regardless, but i guess it does have Motowny kind of vibe.

  • i love girl bands-this one blows the bangles,go gos and pretenders away-i have to go back to kate busch to find such solid music and lyrics.

  • this isn't a "girl band" you idiot. the vocalist just happens to be a girl.

  • who is the idiot-look who writes all the music and lyrics.

  • the vocalist may just happen to be a girl but she also writes all the songs

  • Makes me happy to be glaswegian

Maybe ppl will realise theres more to Scotland than haggis and bagpipes! :D

  • I love Camera Obscura. I have all their albums. My Maudlin Career is great. :)

  • I Don't understand ...

  • were did it go wrong ????? maybe it was always right to go wrong?

    xxx

    misslayed

  • lost this song when my hard drive crashed; thinking of it again and then heard "french navy" on sirius the other day and knew it was CO! :D

  • So I discover CO on Craig Ferguson's show on the 14th, I love their songs, download all their albums from iTunes, then find out they were already here in San Francisco on the 8th at the Fillmore. Doesn't that suck?? What happened to promoting the tour on TV, THEN tour? Sigh. They are awesome! I can imagine the Shangri-Las doing this song if we could go back in time to 1965 and give them this song. Love Tracyanne!

  • The video is foine! That's right, I said "foine" What do you expect, anyway, pimps and hoes and all that sheee-ite? It's a collage of video scraps from one of Camera Obscura's tour across America, apparently. I recognize the Austin, Tx shots @2:00 in the vid. The video sux for you, maybe. Go watch a Vin Diesel movie.

  • haha they reminded me of belle & sebastian too! theyre both scottish bands as well :]

  • 'cause thumds down doesn't mean it's false
