@MrDylan997 You really are pathetic. There's no fucking way you'd ever know what Kurt Cobain would have wanted. Having Scott Weiland, one of Courntney's old heroin buddy's and a friend of Kurts covering this timeless classic would and should make anyone proud.
yeah fair play to these guys, the cover is ok but no matter how hard you play or how much strain you put in your shout......you will never beat the original!
I don't think kurt had any real negative feelings toward any band in particular but a negative vibe against the redundancy that happens when one style or another becomes overly popular. And anyway, who really gives a shit. Kurts music struck a chord, #1 it was new and different and #2 a new generation was listening. Difference between Nirvana and GnR was Axles EGO. All nirvana members seemed humble and a bit sarcastic to make interviews fun! things don't have to be sooo serious... but fun!
@MrDeamon1 Yeah, slash is clean. But you have to realize, there is 2 guitars playing here (Velvet Revolver). Kurt played this song by himself (Nirvana),. And I dont think the song was meant to be "clean" it was meant to be grungy, load, and appauling:).. Just my opinion. At any rate, a great tribute to Kurt.
fuckin brilliant, and im not really a big fan of velvet. i am a nirvana groupie though, haha :) i love slash anyway but this is an amazing cover and great to see GNR members covering it
This version is cool simply because first, Slash is playing, second you have a 90s icon in Scott Weiland covering another 90s icon in Kurt Cobain. It's cool to see, especially if you are a fan of both bands. I'm not going to argue that this version is better, but it's just cool to hear. In an alternate world, if Scott died, Kurt would probably be covering "Plush."
wow, good, version, great version ,why?,because unlike a lot of other great bands, when doing a song they will try to make it theres and tweek it in certian areas.well imagine all that ego and talent on one stage and they had enough inner peace ,gratitude for kurt to just leave it and whale the hell out of it.kurt would be quite happy with this one.he coulda just as well been on stage with'em .his daughter should be up there singing with a bain played guitar for total homage..well done gentlemen .
I Personally don't listen to Nirvana that much! I listen more Gn'R, STP, and others.. but this a good Cover Scott Weiland does it Again!!! Anyways OF COURSE NIRVANA SOUNDS BETTER THEIR THE ORIGINAL!!!
I love nirvana, i hate gnr, (mainly because i saw them at reading fest 2010 and axl was an hour late and really shit, plus the feuds in the 90's) but in all honestly this is a fucking good cover. Why do people hate it?
i love the original, but come on, this is awesome!! not to mention who is playing it, and who's singing. its gonna be this one and seether's take on you know your right that are the best covers by a signed artist, oh and poison the well's territorial pissings. long live nirvana!!
I was a rock singer living in Seattle when "Bleach" came out. It's one of my fave records, and "Negative Creep" is my fave song on the disc. Many years later I was looking for lyrics and came up with lots of attributions to VR, who I have never even heard of exceot in reference to this song.
Silly, me, I asumed that meant the attributions were correct.
Hello?! I stand corrected. Kurt wrote it and NR did a passable cover.
I absolutely love this. Not for the quality of the cover, but just the fact that ex GNR members are playing Nirvana songs. They all thought he was brilliant except for Axl. Axl should just go face the corner with a dunce hat on that says pathetic.
Not an Axl fan, but as a big Nirvana fan it was Kurt who started the shit with Axl. Axl was a fan of Nirvana at first. Kurt didn't like Axl so he started talking shit about him in interviews and thats when the whole feud started. So yeah, Axl was a Nirvana fan and even wanted to tour with them at one point, but Kurt was the douchebag in that situation.
@lxa9466 Well Cobain thought that Axl was a jackass, and an egotistical maniac, and I am a big Guns N Roses, and Nirvana fan, but Cobain has a point there. Many times Axl doesn't even want to be nice to his own fans, and acts like his fans should worship him at a concert for being in the presence of a god. Kurt just didn't want to pretend to like someone, and be friendly with somebody who he could not stand personality wise.
@DavidKinner@lxa9466 and that might be a reason why a bunch of people that used to be in gnr did a cover in tribute because they know that axl is a fucking moron what guns n' roses today is just a solo project by axl because he thinks he was the band and not the insturments now i do like axls vocals but the new gnr is not the same as it used to be because its not the same band thats exactly why kurt dident like him and its a prime example its because axl thinks hes a god
@akiyer08 Actually Axel did think Kurt was Brilliant and was a huge Nirvana fan, even dragging Slash to a Nirvana concert when Slash sid he didnt care for them. It was in deed Kurt (who I love) that talked shit about Axle and started the whole feud .
@nimaside They way I heard it Axle told Kurt to keep his wife on a leash and that was how it all began. Axle acts like a child It would not surprise me that Axle didn't have some shit to say to Kurt. Fuck he acted like an ass all the time. All his antics and showing up late and causing riots and shit.. Who the hell did/does he think he is... No wonder all the GNR members quit... Once Geffen took down the GNR posters and put up the Nirvana ones Axle had a fit and took it out on Kurt personally..
@lotscum That did happen, but years after what I'm talking about. Axle was a fan of nirvana when nirvana first got huge. Your story is just part of reminents of the beginning, so basically yes that did happen, but in know way did it start it all because this was at the music awards soo much later in time.
@akiyer08 That's wrong. Axl really liked Nirvana and said so in interviews until Kurt and Courtney took the piss out of him. That's when he started mouthing off about them.
@akiyer08 if it wasnt for axl there would have been no guns n roses, he wrote 90% of the songs and izzy did the rest, slash duff and adler just came up with some riffs
@devastator226 of course it blows this away... its nirvana's song lol. they did this as a tribute to cobain, they all respected nirvana, axl was the only ass clown who ripped on them
@MrSmellytramp he obviously loves this song plays it well kurt with all his problems resolved would prob just hi 5 slash and think damm i wrote a mother fucker of a song there! x
@Ducklover80 before a arguement starts (Which I know it will) I ask you guys to not to start anything. Velvet Revolver fans like Velvet Revolver, Nirvana Fans Like Nirvana. They both sell good, so there's nowhere to argue about. Shut the Fuck up and listen to the song!
it's a great cover made for very good reasons, Slash respects Nirvana and Kurt on another level and this was basicly done in tribute to his memory RIP Kurt and rock on Slash!!!!
okay, this is too "perfect", its' too spot on in the tempo, the sounds, you can hear each instrument and the vocals don't just completely drown the music out. it seems to me to be the kind of music put out by the commercial music industry. whereas the original nirvana version is none of that. it is enduring, maybe because of its imperfections and wreckless abandon. velvet here sounds too rehearsed. too .. produced.
@vutEwa Well said, Everything VR does sounds like something from a commercial or an elevator or a shopping mall. Fuck them, Cobain would puke on this, and it would sound better.

(wish his headless ass would stroll zombie like to whatever dumpster Cortney's woking and off that cave slag for his ending his music):
