  • does it make a difference if you get the car cammed or not in the sound of the mufflers. If so what cams do you think I should get and what headers would you reccomend.

  • @jsmooth181 MAC headers, no the cam doesn't change the sound of the mufflers. It just makes it louder and changes the idle. The cam I prefer is in the description of the video. From CompCams,

  • @Synyster06Gates Ya my car is cammed but it was installed by the previous owner so I'm not sure on the specs all i can say is I have the same headers and mufflers and on a dyno my car made 224rwhp

  • @bmabbott1 Neither. Divorced pipes, no crossover. I had an EGR delete from the Windstar intake, so I didnt have to deal with it with the long tubes.

  • @000SaviourXXX with all of my mods my final rwhp was about 230, which is 50 more than it made when it was bone stock. I still averaged about 25mpg on the highway when it was all done.

So...put up or shut up bud. btw...this car made 504/508 @ 16psi on pump and I'm still in the process of tuning it with methanol.

  • @JU5TBL4ZE Show me then. Also last time I checked ford 302's are still spliting the blocks @ 500rwhp. These blocks have made 800rwhp with a bw turbo. 16psi (on pump I might add) I'm running on this setup isnt even starting to tax this turbo. Do some research and see what this turbo is capable of. All I have to do is turn a knob located under my steering wheel and make what ever power I want. This car will run 6.8's next year, and it's still a street car.

  • @JU5TBL4ZE lol, what video? If your talking about the one with the tb0348, that is just a stock gn turbo on 10psi. I havent made a new video since I got the precision turbo tuned. I pulls much harder now. Like I said though, I'm shootng for 6.80's in the 1/8th mile. I've got a buddy with a older c4, 383, hot cam, and heads done by a speed shop out of texas. That car runs 7.8's and from a 40mph roll I killed him. Now when he puts the juice on it, it will be a close race. Car should go flat 7's.

    Never was a fan of the mufflers Austin but after I installed the cam it did sound much better! lol But you can still take your no torque six banger and shove it! Glad you finally bought a v8 though :) Now you can actually keep up!

  • @The00Mustang why would you want the dohc so bad? They used SOHC because they wanted low rpm torque... Plus it is way easier to work with SOHC motors...

  • @scorpionfights Bone stock to the paper filter I made 170rwhp. With cam, intake, tune, and UDPs I made 212. It's misleading because my stock manifolds were cracked and throwing my AFR WAY off. I believe when I fixed that it was around 225. With the LTs and no cats, it was right around 230-235.

  • @gbsons Parts aren't that expensive, should come out to around $700 for EVERYTHING. $500 if you don't do springs.

  • I am a proud owner of a 99 GT, but I have to give it to you man, this thing really sounds nice, I had 2 V6's before I got my GT..One got wrecked and I sold the 2nd one. And all I can say is, dont listen to all these haters man, the 3.8L V6 is one of the best V6 engines FORD has ever built, And I have saw them at car shows and the dragstrip pushin around 400+ hp.

    This is coming from a GT owner, I love the V6 and all you motherfucking haters can shove it up your asses. V6 deserves respect too.

  • @xHaRdStYleKiDx yea, when you drive through town, make sure the green o/d light is on, when you get to like 55+ mph then hit that button, cause all it is is an extra gear, and it lowers the rpm's when you get on the freeway or get going faster.
