So why did I Corinthians 11 tell women to wear a covering over their head whenever they prophesy if no one would ever hear them aloud in the assembly? Why would they be prophesying to their own selves in their bedrooms?

@turquoise770 Scripture tells us that Satan can appear as an angel of light and that he can perform miracles to deceive even the elect. How do you figure he won't counterfeit the gifts of the Spirit? It's about the truth of scripture, not experience.

The Gnostic teaching that the body is bad and only the spirit is good is a heresy. God wants us to worship with our bodies as well as spirit. Bodily position is important. Bowing shows humility. Being on the knees shows humilty. Clapping,dancing, playing rythmic instraments are all recognized in the Bible. Prohibiting using the body and the feelings in worship is an indication of a posible type of Gnostic belief. MacArthur seems to come dangerously close to Gnostic belief.
ok so you said that first person to get the Holy Ghost was a woman?! um, where in Acts 2 is that again? i dont recall that verse.... and as for women being preachers in pentecost, i am a PROUD ONE GOD PENTECOSTAL and have never met a women pentecostal preacher... and i am in a couple of large pentecostal fellowships!
What does Joel 2:28 mean? "...your sons and daughters shall prophesy? Just want clarification.God bless you.

Kawgag- to move or march in a circle!

I think this thing about woman being silent pertains to more than just the church.
I think many of the problems in society today are because of loud shrill woman who just want to be heard.
They don't care if they are wrong or right they just insist upon being heard and many times with modern feminist they insist upon being in charge.
I think woman in the military and woman bosses and woman police officers are an absolute disaster to society.
