Thanks for the recipe. I modified it a little and wanted to share it with you and everyone else, if I may. I couldn't find all those different types of beans, so I only used one can of pinto beans. I couldn't find Italian stewed tomatoes, so I used Mexican stewed tomatoes. Instead of Tabasco, I added crushed red pepper. I also added some frozen corn to the stew. It was delicious.
Thanks for the comment, You made a whole new stew can't wait to try it, Sounds great. I just love cooking , change a little of this and little of that and you have a whole new dish to add to your family cookbook.
No you don't have to roast the chicken, I just don't like the taste or smell of boiled chicken. When its slow roasted it has time to cook the flavors into the chicken. But you can do whatever you like bake it, boil it, fry it, grill it, stir fry it, each will add a different taste to the stew. You might want to cut back on the amount of beans my mom loves her beans.
@TooTiredTeacher no no i love watching your stew recipe and im just a boy to begin with... (13 years old) i just want to learn some cooking and i wanna make this stew... thank you for posting ^_^
@FinalFantasy10RO I sure you can cook any of my recipes, My 3rd and 4th grade students have cooked all of my recipe with some help. They had fun cooking for their family. Happy cooking.
I assume this would be to thicken it up a bit, maybe to just about "chowder" status? I love that idea and I'm wondering about how much flour you would add in? Thanks!
@Pizztoff it depends on the amount of ingredients u add into the mixture. U can discover it yourself, but remember that before u add flour, u have to mix it with water. Gluck!
Hey, I wanted to let you know that I've been making this ever since Ive seen your video, and this is now mine and my husband's favourite dish ever! okay, so I made this yesterday, (except i only used one can of beans) and it only costs just under $10 to make, and it will last a WHILE, maybe even a full week of lunch or dinner. Thanks so much for this recipe, it is a real money saver, and very healthy!
@miniixio One can of beans is good, my mom loves the beans so that why I had so many. You can cut the amount on inge. in half so it want be so much. My boys around here eat a lot.
oh no! this one dish can provide more than 30 families in India and Africa ! It seems to be so expensive ! my one budget in one meal! but i think i will really like it.. can someone tell me how the taste is? is it sweet? sour? or .???
First it's not sweet or sour, it's a stew ,. As for how many it feeds, I make this on the weekend so I don't have to cook the rest of the week, I make cornbread and salad to go with this. It is a large Pot I also share it with some of my single friends who don't cook much. All you have to do is cut the recipe in half. down for your size of family. In the long run it's cheap......as for the families in India or Africa more like 60 families and that would be pretty cheap.
@Solid5050 Same as,St lukes.Isnt the cathedrel great, dont know if you have watch the film omen, well the scene when damian is crying and going mad in the cars coz he doest want to go in the cathedral, well thats guildfords cathedral
@matywaldy I saw it the other day and drove up the same road as in the scene. Do it, it's an eary feeling... some guy got shot on the steps of the cathedral a year or two ago and the head line on the front of the Surrey Advertiser read; COPS SHOOT MAN DEAD AT OMEN CHURCH. Pretty cool eh? The guy was running around the streets with a replica gun pointing it at people and was about to enter the cathedral when the police shot him in the head not knowing it was a fake gun...
@matywaldy Nice to meet you my fellow Guildfordian, i'm quite proud of our city. It has an amazing history and great scenery in places...i get home sick if i'm away for too long.

I love it with the beans, and it was ok without them too. Personally I thought it was much better with them. This recipe was great, seeing we had tons of left over turkey we made it with roasted turkey instead of chicken and it was wonderful. Thanks for the great recipe look forward to watching more over the new year.
I have mine simmering right now! Just have to wait for the veggies to cook! Can't wait to eat it!!!! I didn''t use beans though... because I don't like them much.. But I put chickpeas in instead.. and I didn't add the chili or tabasco either. Not abig fan of acid indigestion. ahahha. But I followed the rest of the recipe exactly. I hope it turns out! THANKS!
One can of beans is ok....not three. Um, I wouldn't add the liquid from the bean cans because it has too much salt, it's better to rinse the beans. Also she didn't add any herbs or spices. It looks like a good base recipie that could be a lot better with some changes.
@Atsume1020 season to taste- garlic, salt, pepper, hot pepper sauce, Tabasco sauce is in the recipe use the drop down, that's how we do it in the south. If that's toooo many bean leave some out. You would be suprise how goooood it is if you tried it.
