DP/30: State Of The Union - Bill Mechanic

I met Bill Mechanic when he was the keynote speaker at a Michigan State alumni dinner. He is truly a genuine and straight shooting person. He is focused on what will work or the systemic part of film making while his critics and the movie studios are just looking for the big bucks or the cheapest movies. Hence, we have movies that are just flash bang, special effects crap with no acting. I am hoping he will get back into management of a studio that will turn him loose to do his magic again.
