good to see younger kids these days not playing that defensive counter punching shit.
dolgopolov is tricky and quite good, grigor has some maturing to do but definitely will be good and raonic is a huge serve and big forehand who am i missing
A very promising player, but I still believe Federer is so much more graceful and fluid with his technique. Grigov backhand reminds me more of a mechanical Youzhny. Mind you Federer game was far different from 17 years old to what he is now, so in that case Grigov is really great. Laver is and always will be the KING of tennis. Roger the Prince!
@ciprianned Looks to be on the right path. Amazing year for Grigor!!!! From 359 in the world and written off as another Donald Young to 136 with 6 consecutive challenger wins. He might qualify for AO and then the real fun begins.
@Ignozi You can watch Grigor today in Queens against Feliciano Lopez. You probably know, but just in case. :) His match is on centre court at 12:30 if it doesn't rain.
As long as the Swiss man is on the circuit, the stars won't be able to shine as brightly as they should; he may get older, but if you watched last Australian Open, you know that he's literally kidding with them... even when he is led, outrageously led, he is there, playing; he is always ready to win the game and as soon as you stop playing beyond your limits, you're out of the match.
In 3/5 sets match, Federer has the edge over any other player.
Surely, they will be good, very good; they may arise and play above the level of many others, but it will take time; as good as they might be, there is still this huge obstacle in front of them in about each final they will get to.
People do not seem to understand how good he is or why he is so dominant; they do not realize how ridiculous is the difference between this guy and any other champion.
It's a matter of an almost perfect execution of everything with an outrageous consistancy.
But, each thing has an end and someday Federer will no longer play; we need someone ready to amaze the world when he leaves and his shoes won't be easy to fill.
We need one player - only one - who will dominate the tour, who will pull off those shots, those shots which are always more an more impossible to execute.
I see BORING written in big glowing letters in today's world top ten; I do not see anyone able to stand like this man does. We need someone able to fill this giant hole.
He reminds me mostly of Federer, but with some ferocity of Nadal, and the bizarre/amazing athletic ability of Monfils. Quite the formidable combination.
@prattle128 the "athleticism" of monfils is just lack of skills in footwork. Fed has that kind of athleticism, but has the skill to look like he needs to try as hard. Any player with a competitive agressive drive has the "ferocity" of any other player, not just Nadal, it's Nadal's mentality that distincts Nadal from others, not the ferocity.
In a few years, he'll probaly be in the top 20 to 10.
its ridiculous how extremely developed his game is at this age. its just scary to think how high his potential could be. then again, its still a wait and see sort of thing....
lol he totally modeled his game after federer. a real tennis player would recognize the similarities on the forehand...how he whips across his body etc.
Wow wow wow!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO!!! I loveeee it, there aren't enough videos of the amazing Grigor, this is definitely the BEST one I have ever seen of him! Awesome video!!! The song is damn cool too. :)

I feel like betting 100 euros that Dimitrov is winning Wimbledon within the next 5 years (I've already done the same for Mario Ancic and I lost). :-)

Any news on Grigor? Last match he played was against Balleret in March and that was over a month ago.

@Ignozi He suffered a wrist injury after his matches for Davis Cup so he had to recover but he must be playing again really soon.

@Zory1 Thanks. Do you know if he'll try to qualify for Rome or Hamburg?

I can see the similarities to fed and safin. (My two favs)
i hope he makes a splash on the tour soon. i can't stand the recent surge in defensive play.
i hope Dimitrov and del potro are the stars of the new decade.
