We only got a few good artist today like Chris Daughtry and American Idol is gonna regret this after what they did. I am sure everytime when a Daughtry song comes on and American Idol hears it, it just haunts them hahaha. Chris Daughtry is an amazing vocalist and songwriter. I think Chris could be the next Phil Collins and Bryan Adams who are legends.

@tonebeatz24 Idol won't regret anything they've done. They've made so much money on the backs of these kids that it's not even funny. The main thing is,,it's a BLESSING that Daughtry DIDN'T win. Fantasia Barrino, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, Ruben Studdard, Kris Allen, and Lee DeWyze have ALL won and NONE of them have become superstars. And I don't mean that to be disrespectful...but sometimes finishing 3rd or 4th can be WAAAAY better for your career.

@Supermonkey22 Its because Daughtry is a rocker and he was the only rocker that made it and this show is not usually for rockers. This show is more for pop singers which its all the same it sounds and they leave the other genre's left out. Simon is the asshole that didn't make him win. the others like Paula and Randy luved the guy. Simon was the biggest asshole on that show.

The reference to drowning in the song is a metaphor. Nobody drowned...nobody saw anybody drown...and nobody just sat by and watched somebody drown without lending a hand. They are only lyrics. If you hear the song "Fly Me To The Moon" do you really think somebody is going to fly that person to the moon ?

is it just me, and i am a big fan of daughtry, but i think their covers suit his voice much better. I think their album songs are very difficult to sing and its beginning to wear out his voice a bit. For example, the end of no suprise has some very high notes that strain his voice if he really goes for it.

This song just goes to prove that the song doesnt have to be difficult for the band to be successful. Head his short version of tracy chapman's fast car as well, that was class too.

@connellrocraymond i think you are right in some aspects. his songs are very hard to sing, but not many people can do it. Cavo has some of the same types of songs(the band that is on tour with them) but his voice is freakin amazing. this song is just alot easier to sing (for someone with his vocal talent)
