  • When did you start composing, mate?

Always liked your work, it's really inspiring. Congrats!

  • Per-Olov, I was just thinking, you should put all of your pieces into one book, it seems that everytime I hear you play something I want to learn it :)

  • Hi my friend.

I am actually working on it but it might be a while before I can do it. I have over 200 pieces... Thanks for playing my music!

    Per-Olov

  • sorry I guess that chromatic run starts at about 1 minute 45 seconds... my bad. Cool none the less. :)

  • sorry I guess that chromatic run starts at about 1 minute 45 seconds... my bad. Cool none the less. :)

  • I LOVE the chromatic run at about 1 minute 48 seconds in... It's just so damn cool!!! Thank you for the great music, Peo...

  • Thank you my friend.

    Per-Olov

  • I always go through phases with your pieces. For instance, I'll Be There was my favorite for awhile, and Serpent Sea afterwards. Then I was obsessed with I'll Walk You Home (which I bought and currently perform) and your Dowland pieces, but methinks this is my favorite piece... for now, lol

    Cheers,

    Jarrod

  • Dear Jarrod!

I am sorry for the late reply. :-) Thank you my friend for playing (and liking) my music. I am very happy to hear this.

This pice is one of my own favourites because it was made for Marie's father when he passed away.

I hope you are enjoying this and hopefullly I can hear you play it some dey... ?

    Please?

    Per-Olov

  • wow! love all your music, and for this video, that background i love it..

play in silence at night, only hear a sound from beautiful string..

sad, your CD is sold out..

  • teach me, teach me, uncle.

  • Man you rock! I thing play music is one of the most expressive parts of a human being. Your tunes are awesome.

    Saludos desde México

  • hau auf kacke^^

  • silence.. yes , i agree with you..

    we can listen to silence.

that's why i always listen to music of silence and talk with it..

your music always make me peaceful.

    thank you always..

  • hi Per-olov. i have listened to many of your pieces and this one is my favourite so far. you play this piece so well. the chords/voicings are haunting and mystical. in fact I dont think you play the guitar at all; you sit with it, merge with it and then the guitar vibrates to your soul.

  • Why did you change the title of this piece?. The former ttile was Princess Pheonas Silence

  • Hi! Thank you for your comment(s).

I think you mix this with After Silence... THAT one I changed after advice from my "adviser". It was an inside joke...

This one is made to a person I never met but respect very much.

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • You always touch my heart.

  • hi per,

That would be cool if you made a DVD of your classicals and your Bach peaces.. That would make my day :)

I would definately spend the money for it

    Take care my friend

  • that guitar is no joke, and neither is your playing. i was under the impression this was written by an old composer from yesteryear, but scrolling through the comments it seems this is your song? beautiful. sounds like water or a dream, and also reminds me of church. very nicely played.

  • I hope you make a dvd, so that we can watch your perfect fingerwork to the music

  • Thank you my friend. I am honored you have my CD. It's good to know. I know it's nice to see the player too but do you think you will put on a DVD just to listen to me? I don't think I would... but maybe it's only me... We'll see. I might since many are asking for it.

    Thanks for listening.

    Kind regards,

    Per-Olov

  • I`v bought the cd and listen to it all the time.

But I still watch you at youtube :)

Thank you for sharing your talent

  • gracias por compartir su musica

  • I believe...he's an angel who played strings in heaven- I can't describe the feelings we all get listening to him play!

  • How beautiful is this piece!!!

  • Thank you. I am honored!! This piece ends my new CD "After Silence" See: After Silence- Before Silence... :-) We thought a lot about that...

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • this song is like a story , beautiful story

  • Clapping....

That which questioned me, why is it in this world, there is that the most vicious and the most devillish music called "black metal" existing at the same time with this kind of music that you play can stay together. Why so many diversities on "outlook of the world" from people?

  • Thank you. I think it's a great thing that all kind of music can be enjoyed at the same time. I am sure it's because of the medias we have now...

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • If its true that the music comes from the soul then, are you an angel? or a saint?, if its true that the music come from the heart then, are you the most nice person in the world? if its true that the music flows with creativity then, are you the very most intelligent man on the world? the most creative one? or the music its just a misterius energy that make feel things when you hear certain sounds?

Witch one? I dont know and if the music you make will change if you know, better keep the secret

  • Hi (again) WOW! You are so good with words! And I guess English is not even your native language...? Muchas gracias! But I am just a normal playing guitarist. The only thing I can is expressing my feelings through my music.

I am happy you can hear it.

    Hug,

    Per-Olov

  • Wow is right. That was more eloquent than anything I could have ever hoped to say.

And this piece is truly a piece of beauty. The melody initially reminds me of something else, but then changes into this beautiful piece of music. Mr. Lundgren, I must say, you are possibly my favorite musician on this website, which basically means in the entire world. Not that that means much coming from someone with less than 6 months of classical guitar, but take it for what it's worth^^

  • Once again you leave me speechless!

  • :-) thank you!

This piece means a lot to me so I am happy you like it!

    All the best to you!

    Per-Olov

  • ver nice!

  • Thanks a lot!

    Per-Olov

  • bellissima, rendi questo pezzo al massimo della sua dolcezza, complimenti

  • Ciao!

    Mille grazie!

    Saluti!

    Per-Olov

  • i wish i had 10 dollars to buy your tabs.

    =[

and i'm sure you don't remember me but i try and write you all the time.

my name is Trevor. hah i just noticed that everyone tells you their name.. so yeah haha

  • Hi Trevor!

I am sorry for not seeing this comment! I have been travelling and see this for the first time! I hope you forgive me...

I too wish you had 10 USD... LOL not for my tabs but for your self!

    Please keep listening to me,

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • are you a fan of John Cage? :P

  • Yes! I love his 4:14 was it? for piano solo!

    LOL

  • it was 4'33", but Mr. Cage would approve of your randomizing the length of time so no worries :P

anyways I like this piece. in between the silences you get a very nice range of tones out of the guitar :D

  • yes... 4:33! I remember my teacher onec "played" it for us! it was an experience!

    LOL Good comment!

    Thanks!

    Per-Olov

  • Hello,

I just read your comment and looked up that piece. I watched the orchestral version, televised by the BBC; excellent rendition.

So just wanted to thank you for the tip!

    Best regards,

    Jolina

  • I actually didn't like the way it was orchestrated for the BBC. There were a few rests I'd have put in the clarinets instead of the violins, and the rests on the basses would have worked much better pizzicato.

    But it was alright anyways.

  • Mmm I quite liked the violins with those rests, but I guess clarinets would sound good, too. Or perhaps trumpets, but I'm not quite sure about that, I would have to hear it to know it was right.

It isn't all bad. I've heard much worse renditions by guitarists.

  • Well if there's one thing guitarists can't do properly, it's not playing.

  • I can really feel some of the emotions you were going through while composing and playing the tune. It's feels sad, but comforting at the same time. I really love it. I'm sorry to hear about your girlfriend's father. Take care Per!

  • wonderful... I like to listen to your guitarplaying. Still awesome

  • Thank you! I am happy you like this piece. It means a lot to me...

    Please keep listening!

    Per

  • great song i almost learn this piece and its very relax.

  • Thanks my friend! Are you really learning this? WOW. I hope you will post it! PLEASE!!??

I am happy you play my music!

    Thanks,

    Per-Olov

  • Im with Wilson. I love Heavy Metal, but there is no comparable sound to the classical guitar. I love all of your pieces, you are a very talented musician and song writer. Thank you for all that you have done.

  • Thank you! Appreciated! I am very honored by your words. I have just finished a CD with 23 of my compositions. (among them, this one) It's called "AFTER SILENCE" as silence means a lot in music.

    Thanks for listening to me.

    Merry Christmas!

    Per

  • Hey Peo! you are living proof that original masterpieces CAN come from the 21'st century. Ive listened to your music for quite a while, and it is timeless. Being a fan of mostly 80's metal, and the romantic period, this is some very inspiring music even though its not exactly metal :). In the future I believe you will have a huge impact on the current trash heap of the music industry! You've Truely ispired a metalhead like me!

Best wishes for your bright future!!!

    -Wilson

  • Dear Wilson,

You have no idea how happy I was to see your comment. And from a metalhead!! :)

I hope my music will be played in the future but that is out of my control....:) But I am very honored you believe so.

    Thanks you!!

    Per

  • Thoughtful, actually silence of music, of waiting...

    "Hard", but good work!

  • Thank you!

It was "hard" because it was composed to my girlfriends father that passed away last summer. The title refers to the silence in death...

    Per

  • Welcome!

  • I believe your instrument is very lucky to have someone as skilled as you playing it. Without you, it would be nothing. And without it, your songs wouldn't be as sweet.

  • I like to think I'm the lucky one that have this instrument. She is a beauty. You are very kind!!

Thank you so much for listening to me.

    Kindly,

    Per

  • The different sounds and moods within this piece are just amazing Peo :D

Among your compositions I think this is one of the harder pieces I've tried to learn, but all the more fun! :D Not terribly hard to play I guess, but it's quite long and a lot of transitions to learn to play properly :D

Thanks again Peo, your performances here on youtube as well as the compositions you create are a huge inspiration to me - every day.

    best regards,

    Jan

  • Hej Jan,

Many have told me this is among my best compositions. Anyways... it mean a lot to because of the sad circumstances it was created. Read my answer to nonexponential ...

    Thank you!

    Per

  • So sorry to hear that, luna.

  • Indeed this is the sound that awaits silence.

    Deeply emotional! Thanks - Athan

  • Dear Athan. This comment has dissapered in the wast amount of comments I get. Sorry. This is made to Maries father that sadly passed away this summer :( Hence the title: this is before the eternal silence...

  • Dear Per, you do not need to reply to this

but I just wanted to say I am sorry about

the sad circumstances that led to this piece.

It is often true that from our deepest feelings there emerges the best music and

poetry. Your music provides a means of connection among all those who listen to it and get inspired by it. - Athan

  • 5 stars very pretty...expressive...

  • Thanks for the stars and kind comment!

    Kindly,

    Peo

  • Beautiful piece Peo.Making the transition from electric playing to study classica myself, and hopefully someday teach.Your video's are a great reference point for my own studys, both through examining technique, though I found your Brouwer etude to be quite intimidating lol,to helping guide me through a repotoire of pieces to attempt.Any chance of posting Asturias or Recuerdos de la Alhambra these two of my all time favourites and would love to see you play them. Many thanks.

    Kind Regards,

    Shaun.

  • Dear Shaun. Welcome to the world of classical guitar :-) I am happy I can inspire (I am a professor in classical guitar) and it's good to know. I might record Recuerdos de la Alhambra here someday. But I am fed up with Asturias... LOL but no promises...

Thank you for listening, and good luck!

    Peo

  • İ like it very much.İ always love listening to you.Thanks..

  • Thank you. It's good to know.

    Hope you are well!

    Peo

  • hello peo,

I'm learning classical guitar. But I have really bad nails they always break. What shall I do?

I'm a big fan of you

    Walter

  • Dear Walter.

It's difficult if your nails are too weak. I recommmend you keep them no longer than 1 mm. above thr fingertip. Polish and care for them every day. They get stronger if you deal with them every day.

    Good luck.

    Peo

  • hello Peo,

It's a very beautifull song,I like it very much and your guitar sounds great.

    Friendly

  • Thank you! Keep listening and above all: keep smiling!

    Per-Olov

  • Simply beautiful piece and performance.

    Bravo!

  • Marvelous piece!

I can relate to the 'silence' ad infinitum in vacuo which is what I named a song of mine, I will soon post it for you to hear

  • John William said the intervals inbetween the notes is as important as the notes themselves..Your piece does indeed capture this timeless quality...

  • He did? I thought it was me!! LOL Well, I think like that too! What happens between notes are as importnt as the sound itself.

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov

  • Beautiful composition - so much like life with some predictable and some unanticipated transitions. And then the sanctuary of silence.

  • Absolutely beautiful maestro...

  • Wonderful Per! :)

  • Thanks Kris! Glad you listen to me!

    Per-Olov

  • Hello Peo,

very fine composition. Your sightreading must be excellent! To play this with such expression from the paper. Its unbelieveble. Thank you again! By the way, what about your cd. is it ready?

Keep on going. Have a nice day. Hermann

  • Hi Hermann! Well, yes, I am good at sightreading. On the other hand I am not so good at remembering pieces... :-)

My CD is a bit delayed due to a trip to NYC and a broken nail but it's on it's way!

    Kindy,

    Per-Olov

  • You are great! you write that music?! If so then yes...I say genius.

  • Thank you. Yes I made the music and I am happy you like it! It is made for a great man!

    Per-Olov

  • Wonderful piece man - you're great - is it a ‚Hagstrom' you play with?

  • Thank you so much! Hagstrom? No... if you mean my guitar it's a Philippe Jean Mairet...

What an exquisite touch you have my friend, broken nail aside.

I entirely agree with the earlier comment about the passage commencing around 2mins 40. It is worthy of Beethoven for it's beauty.

    Kindly,

    Per-Olov
