  • Looks like some kind of Celtic influenced art or something.

  • wow that must of taken a lot of paracord

  • @thesurvivalexpert101 around 75' total. BTW if you like videos please click the "share" button on videos, subscribe to my kevingg2000 youtube channel, and share to your social networks, follow me on twitter, like my facebook page etc. thanks again!

  • Oh man I like that, I have very large hands, some thing like that would be nice for my hatchets, axes etc.

  • i am genuinely very impressed dude. i have some work that i would love for you to strap up for me. i tried but yours looks way nicer.

  • Nice, I want my 18" Sawback Machete handle done

  • I actually made a axe handle out of paracord

  • I would buy one. Make them and sell them on Ebay.

  • @jadepond7172 I used to sell these on ebay, not worth it. I have them on my website, but I've got 3 to do and a big backlog so I removed them for now; unless you want to buy and wait a few months

  • @kevingg2000 you are an amazing person

how long would take for you to paracord a X-27 or and 36 in handle?

  • What diameter paracord did you use?

  • That looks very nice! I wood gladly pay for one of these.

  • very cool dude! i would buy one!

  • I chop enough wood to know I wouldn't want that wrap to terminate under my hand. Better, I think, to have it come to an end before the hand gripping region, or else go completely under it.

Having it end under your hand just looks like the promise of a serious blister at the end of the woodcutting day.

  • Very nice work !

  • I overstruck the crap out a Fiskars splitting axe when I was a beginner, and the integrity of the handle was not the least bit compromised. Overstrike protection isn't all that necessary on Fiskars.

  • @myusernameisluc its a functional piece of art; thats what this is

  • good job on the vid, looks kewl :) about how long did it take you to wrap the axe??

  • @xxSODAPOPxxx takes around 3hrs start to finish, maybe 4

  • @kevingg2000 ahh thats long but wroth it, thanks

  • Ya have to our hase the video to watch it? What the heck is that about!!

  • Lemme guess,u cut your thumb with the hatchet and then covered the tip of the hatchet to stop it from cutting you again?

  • @propcomicdoinyourmom BINGO lol. good eye lol

  • @kevingg2000 haha thankyou :)

  • Awesome job!!!

  • Awesome job!!!

  • @fredhart thanks!

  • well done job

    thanks for the vid

  • @beachfiredude thanks for watching; check out my facebook fanpage for paracordist (link in video description) for my latest pics and postings!

  • Theres a perfectly good table i see you can chop :D

  • thumb thong lanyard is safer than wrist lanyard for exactly that reason; you sir are incorrect

  • The lanyard is great for chopping into your body if the axe ever slips out of your hand.

  • where can i find a books with these knots with instructions and pictures.please

  • i think it would be cool to do something with the inner stands from all that gutted paracord you need

  • @punkboy198 that whole wrap uses full paracord, not gutted!

  • Very nice! Could you point me to where i can learn the 4 strand diamond knot that you used on the lanyard. Im wanting to do that same lanyard on my machete. I allready know the 4 strand braid and the adjustable turks head knot, but i cant seam to figure out the 4 strand diamond knot

  • @hargraves74 check out my video on the monkey fist weighted lanyard including 4 strand round braid. the same braid can be done with two colors alternating or not; one way produces diamond pattern the other spiral.

  • @kevingg2000 You must have misunderstood. Im having trouble with the DIAMOND KNOTS that are at the end of the braid, not the braid itself. Ive seen the videos for the 2 strand diamond knot but i cant figure out how you did it with 4 strands. Do you start with the diamond knots then do your braiding or do you do the braid and then put the diamond knot on the end of the braid? thanks!

  • @hargraves74 ok, sorry! just do the two strand diamond, then pass the other two strands though the middle

  • You cut yourself with the hatchet didnt you:) I love that hatchet:)

  • @cvrivcharles very observant; I'm usually very careful too!

  • @kevingg2000 - LOL. First time I used that hatchet I cut myself wide open. To much of an angle it skipped across the log and hit my knee. Just tapping my knee it slice my jeans wide open along with my leg. THEE sharpest hatchet I have ever used. Thats an older modle you have too. The head of that hatchet has a hollow grind to it. The newer ones have a flat grind to them. Sill just as sharp as the old ones. Cant stay which I like more. The handles of the new ones are flared more though:)

  • Love the bandaid on the thumb and the tape on the axe edge.

  • @matgrif you put two and two together LOL; that one hurt!!

  • Ahh very nice! I have been trying to find more things too do with paracord as a hobby and for things to do while backpacking at the end of the day around the fire. I have a longer version of this axe, the gerber camp axe. Not sure on handle length. Might try this on it. New sub here for sure.

  • @BlackwolfW87 thanks! I got a new video just up last night on paracord beads; and I got one other coming this weekend. thanks for sub!

  • you should so do this with a cold steel trench hawk!

  • @vampire847 sounds cool, but I don't have one

  • finally someone knows how to use a damn lanyard properly!

  • Bringing beauty to functionality! Outstanding!

  • @kward79 thanks for your kind comments; means a lot to me :)

  • Tomahawk

  • hi have you a film on how tie the pattern?

    keith

  • @topman88g yes, on my channel there is a four part series on tying the "long turks head"

  • What kind of braid did you use for the lanyard?

  • @bralko85 4 strand round braid; its in my video on the monkey fist lanyard

  • Nice name:)

  • Can't you simply start the wrap lower so it don't get damaged? Maybe notch the handle or glue a piece as stopper?

  • hey Paracordist that looks great. i tried looking for the knot that you used for your wrist lanyard but i couldnt find anything. what knot is that and did you gut the cord for it?

  • @russellpeters21 are you referring to the sliding bead? check out my video on the ranger pacing bead

  • i had the same idea for a knife handle so i looked it up and i guess im not the first, lol. nice job!

  • Really nice job, the fiskars just got sexier! How's the balance now with so much cord in the handle?

Question, any idea where I could get a sheath for this 14" that would ride in the belt?

    Thanks.

  • @jovenguardian my frend robert jones is an incredible leatherworker; check out his link for handsewn leather on my website. the fiskars is super comfy and well balanced with the paracord. I love mine and have used it for years.

  • It doesent need any protection, handel will not break like wooden handel if you miss. I can tell that from experience working with fiskars axes.

  • @AKE9030 He means thatm with overstrikes, you're going to damage the paracord wrap.

  • @dantesblackrose13 i dont really think that a chunk of wood is going to damage 550 cord, the Fitzen wrist armor (i know... mall ninja...) is touted to take knife strikes so I doubt the dull edge or a log is going to destroy it.

    -knivesaretools

  • @knivesaretools I suppose you're right. I've not had any experience, honestly, with any cord wrapped axes, I just know that you can cut cord fairly readily... Dunno about the wrist armor, but every cord I've ever worked with doesn't stand up to anything even reminiscent of a knife blade.

That being said, I could be completely wrong here, and I acknowledge that.

  • Dude that is frikkin awsome! Great work!

  • Very nice job....looks great...
