This is very different from my understanding of the form. His foot possitioning and stance is impecible. There is no bob when he steps, his feet come in subtly to the midline when he steps, foot possition is lovely and he generates power from his feet. I think however, there is too much delay after his feet move to when his hands move. Makes the strikes/blocks a little predictable.
The practice of forms is improve timing, control, technique and movement for the art of self defence in combat and not for sport (competitions). TSD has differing emphasies with types of forms. The Chil Sung should flow more (chinese influence) and not be so rigid (japanese influence). When practicing application these influences can more readily be seen. If you fight (or perform) in the same rigid way for everything you will become to predictable.
GM Randall Chontas, you did "alright." Please e-mail me and I'll be happy to correct you on a few things and provide you with a few pointers on how to improve your form.
Read the info section in the upper right: "Note: Some of you may know this form as Chil Sung Il Ro because it was the first one created by GM Hwang Kee. This is the second Chil Sung form taught in our Do Jang so is designated Ee Ro."
Doesn't matter it should be kept on line with how Tang Soo Do is taught universally! This form may be taught after Ee Roh but still has to be labeled correctly. Do you understand? See all of the confusion that has already been created? If you go to a tournament everbody will view this form as Chilsung IL Roh.
Tang Soo Do is not taught "universally". They can teach whatever they want in their own school and call it whatever they want. No gup level student should be learning the Chil Sung hyung from a Youtube video anyway. Good job pointing out an inconsistency that has already been explained.
Please, please repost this video as Chil Sung Il Ro. I am sure students of Tang Soo Do will get confused. Thank you. You have the 2 Chil Sung forms mixed up!
This is il ro. Great form though

Just my opinion of course.

Kwanjangnim Chontas. This is Chil Sung Il Ro. I think you got mixed up with this and the other video names Chil Sung Il Ro, which is actually Ee Ro.
