I'd say this Eds musical ricer car. He wanks, revs the engine into the red, fart pipes erupt with toots, tires squeal, the stereos cranked to 11 but the story never leaves the Walmart parking lot, and the only folks it excites are teen boys and the like-minded adoring loudly shuddering plastic trim.
this man has both technique and feel in him in the perfect proportions never ever has any of his solos gone bland or just been a show of picking skills but they were always song relevant and at the same time very technically sound he was and will be one of the greatest guitar GODS That ever lived very few r in the same league as him
O_O SON OF A B*TCH!!!! To hear him play this far in his career, WOW. Every note is hit right on and it's not fluttered like it used to kind of be. I mean really, the beginning sounded like a freakin UFO!! xD The man never ceases to surprise me.
i love randy but its pretty funny how after he died he became the best guitarist to ever walk the earth kind of like wat happened with dimebag only on a way bigger scale. o ya eddie is not a ton better than randy but in the end he is
Wow kid...ur a full known dumbass. Listen, I forgote about guitar than u will ever know. Randy was the first to do eruption and the finger taping....I know this bc i have seen alot of shows about randy and eddie even said himself that randy showed him alot about guitar. Randy wasnt even in his prime when he died and if he was still living...Eddie would b shit to others.
I've seen an interview where Ed clearly states that "Randy stole his style of playing." Look it up, its on youtube. Plus Ed was playing like that years before Randy came onto the scene. Also if Randy was playing Eruption, where do you think he learned it from? THE MAN WHO WROTE IT! MR. EDWARD VAN HALEN! The man single handly changed the electric guitar forever!
not really lol hes a good guitarist no word of a lie, but there is a few guitarists that are ahead of him as far as" single handly changed electric guitar forever":P
Ok if your talking about guys like Slash, Tom Morello, Michael Angelo Batio, Buckethead, and any guitarist that came onto the scene after the first Van Halen's first album that had some sort of technical ability of playing then no their not because odds are their style of playing was influenced by Ed's technique & just taken to a different level. Edward Van Halen is a huge base for a lot of famous guitarist you see today
No im not really talking about any of those guys, im thinking more like jimi hendrix, jimmy page, eric clapton. Eddie Van halen got his idea for two handed finger tapping at a led zeppelin concert. Just saying.lol
oooh ok then yes I agree with you! I thought you were one of those "Slash is best guitar player ever cause he was in guitar hero!" kind of people. But your not so i will agree.
Also...Ed started to two-handing tapping technique because he wanted a finger that was long enough to reach futher down the fret board so he started using his other hand...if ya dont believe me theres like a 40 sec. video with Ed talking about it here on youtube...if i find it again ill send it to ya
I think it should be Jimmy, Eric Clapton, Eddie, Angus and so on, but we all have an opinion right. Randy Rhoads barely made it in my top ten. He stole stuff from everyone.
WOW kid...how bout u go kill urself. I highley understand that ur handicap. ur just a little stupid ass kid whos doesnt know shit about guitar at all....eddie is not better than randy. Randy wasnt even in his prime when he died...and yes i have watched so many interviews on guitarest and they all say that randy is better.
Yea, a little 40 year old kid that's been playing, building, and teaching guitar, bass, and violin for 20+ yrs. If anyone needs to go kill them-self it's you.
i disagree on the tone. yeah it sounds good with the hagar material after 5150. i prefer the ole 74 junker for the roth material and the krammer(poplar wood) for the LWAN solo. the cheap wood gives more of a lighter or twangy, crisper, raw and powerfull sound. on the brink of feedback.
i love the music man axis, but i dont see too many anymore that have the gold quilt on the body as well as the head. anyone know where i can get one for a good price?
One of EVH's best solo's on record. You know you're a bad-ass when you can make the big, black security guard on the floor pause and look back like what the fuck was that? (0:32)
my personal favorite solo of ed's is on the right here right now dvd. thats actually my favorite time period for van halen all together during '91-'94 during the F.U.C.K tour. i liked the whole bands look and sound best then out of any other VH era.
This is one of the best solos I've seen Eddie do... Eddie is playing much faster and accurate than he normally does in this solo. Everything clicked for him this night it seems.
the best guitar player in the world

people in the audience in the front row are going, shit he is good. he sure knows how to amaze people with his spectacular skill.

When edward Van halen looks for a guitar, he's not looking for a guitar he's looking for a weapon, a weapon of mass distortion!

randy rhoads is better than eddie....it goes Jimmi then randy
xJustinx704x 2 years ago
Randy stole a lot of the techniques he used off of Eddie. Pretty much Randy is just a rip off of Eddie.
and its Jimmy, Angus, then Eddie (and the list goes on)

It's not the Peaveys, he's probably using the neck pickup on the guitar.
And I agree with vanhalenman, his tone on this is sweet!

That's because Marvin Gaye wrote REAL music.
