um steel cap boots are no good i cut my fot when i was 14 traning i had steel caps on was going to cut blocks for a show later that day aneyway they threw your balence you end up shiftig your feet foword and cut behind the cap
Wish we could make more progress on foot protection. Socks have kept all my toes on, robot shoes look safer but get cut shockingly easily with only a training axe.
Keep up the good work. We have Doug Rooke here in Colorado, thanks for sharing the Colby Loggers!
Well done. I'm very excited for you and the sport. The women's timbersports series has been a long time coming and this is a first and major step.
And as a word of safety, please tell me you we wearing chain guards. It's a new rule that we have to wear the foot and leg protection on the open series. And the 32 second mark scared me a bit.
Yes, she was wearing chain mail socks/shin guards. But I think H Choppers should also be required to wear more substantial footwear, regardless. This is her Dad commenting.
Agreed to an extent. The chain mail will stop an axe from cutting. The "more substantial footwear" is cumbersome and more dangerous in my opinion as the toe guard does not protect the underside or instep of the foot. Had she been wearing the aluminum toe guards she would have cut herself pretty badly with that glance as it went under her foot. I've seen it happen numerous times.
When we play with sharp objects we can get cut. We have to accept that.
um... go hutch?
