  • Ur all idiots it's an open bottom the fish can swim into the bottom half I have one

  • You shouldn't use bamboo, it rots over time when it's kept in water. :|

  • Give a space of air so it can ,ake bubble nest or breathe air!

  • poor guy :( bettas need to breath from the surface. well thats what mine does. but cool tank tho. i would have it as an amphibian tank for da bottem then for fish on the top part

  • How do you do water changes with an upside down tank?

  • can he come out to like uk where all the gravel and stuff is? this is awsoome

  • betta are air breathers. they like a hit of air even though they have gills. i've heard that bettas can drown if they cant come up for air from their labrynth. my betta make an effort to go up for air all the time even though their tanks have air pumps

  • Why do you people think all fish stores keep betta fish in a plactic cup with about a about 12 oz of water in them? Why do you think all fish stores sell 1 gallon betta bowls...That fish is probably so ecstatic to be able to swim freely.

  • Id recommend an amazon sword plant, they grow a decent size and would look fantastic int he taller portion of the tank. A small cave int he lower portion and some anubis nana plants would make this tank look really good!

  • Your betta looks bored shitless, give it some plants!

  • cool how i did you do that

  • Bettas only breath air from the surface when the oxygen level in the tank is low. They can take in air from the tank so long as it has the pump providing the oxygen from them. If your betta fish needs air from outside of it's tank, then that means you're not taking good care of it.

Anyways, this tank is missing a hiding place and plants. Betta fish need a hiding place, and plants. If this was provided then it would be a better tank.

  • @thespiritwithinlink Actually all Betta breathe surface air. Doesn't matter how much oxygen there is in the water. Its a normal behavior. Just because the fish is taking in surface air doesn't mean its not well cared for,

  • what about food? how are you supposed to feed the betta?

  • Hmmm unfortunately you don't know what your talking about the betta can get anywhere in both tanks and air holes would make it not work

  • Hmm...unfortunately I don't really like this tank. It's a nice design but you should have thought more about the Betta's own wellbeing. It should at least have some little air holes and live plants, but at least you gave it a lot of space.

  • does look really cool and kinda relaxing to see, is it really not a prob with the betta goin down for air?

  • How hard is this to clean.

  • did you make the glass box?

  • Just because be dosnt have a air stone in his tank (that he dosnt need for 2 reasons 1 he has one fish dosnt use muct o2 and 2 the filter adds anuf air to the water from the suface agitation ) You sir have the luckiest betta in the world great job.

  • cool tank but they need to breath like people do!

  • @SurfinKris85 it swims out of tht tank into the lower one to breathe

  • SICK TANK!

  • It's amazing how many people there is, feeling the need to post stupid "the betta is going to drown because lack of air" comments, obviously knowing nothing about this type of tank. Google it, get your facts right, and come back.

  • @IAmDampAnkaAgain That and they don't realize that a betta has gills, like any other fish...they can breathe UNDER water too...OMG. That and I don't think they realize how smart bettas are. If he was oxygen deprived he's just go to the lower tank and freakin breathe. I'm literally in stitches right now laughing at some of the dumbass comments.

Btw dude, this tank is sheer beauty, but is there anything you could to add a hide or something for him to get cozy in? Like a leafy plant, or a cave?

  • @IAmDampAnkaAgain and obviously knowing nothing about betta splendens, of course :)

  • lucky bamboo does not grow in water....it will rott and die in a couple years.

  • @JacobsAquarium Um, NO ! Lucky bamboo's root system needs to be in water, but not the entire plant fully submerged, dubmass, ! look it up, He now has a video, one year later where this same lucky bamboo, has grown way bigger, (like freakin crazy)

  • @Livin4theMic Um, NO!! DUMBASS Lucky Bamboo naturally grows in soil under the canopy in the rain forests of cameroon Africa. They grow naturally in soil there for they grow best planted in pots. Do you research before you respond to comments all high and mighty. DUMBASS.

  • Frikin

    Awsome

    Dude!!

  • I love the look...but betta's jump...when he goes for air he could decided to jump. betta tanks need lids.

  • This is utterly amazing!

  • lmfao, ur gona drown the betta!!!!!!

  • thats a freking awesome tank!!! :D hope the fish knows that he cant get air in the higher tank though XD

  • Aw what hell

  • How is this to small, the fish can swim under the damn thing and get air... you people have poo brain -.-

  • I thought it was too small also, but if u look the box that the fish is in is connected to the other...it's plenty big

  • sorry ,but that is far too small for the fish!

  • awsome tank

  • The beta can get out at the bottom to get o2

  • That's lovely but bettas have lungs very similar to a human lung. Having no air in the top of the upside down tank it can make it I'll or make it stressed not having the oxygen when it needs it.

  • very awesome tank

  • are you guys blind? there's a huge opening at the bottom of the tank where the betta is. he can escape out of there and take a breath. he'll most likely accidentally find it and soon be able to know how to get there. bettas aren't that dumb. if you think they are, you must be pretty dumb yourself or don't know anything about fish.

  • that wasnt a good ideal for the fish, it needs to breath

  • that wasnt a good ideal for the the fish it needs to breath

  • A labyrinth or any fishes nature instinct is to swim up for air...by the time this betta figure out how to get out of this trap his oxygen will have depleted and die. This is like throwing a person into a pool and cover it with no room to breath. This is a death torture chamber...R.I.P little betta. The ultimate hi-tech betta torture chamber.

  • Does everything have to be so minimalist? I mean couldn't you get some foliage or ornaments? Nah that's just what I think and it's your tank and looks great how it is!

  • hey nice video i have a betta and i am new to having one. my mom says just to treat it like a goldfish need help please respond

  • i bet the betta died in there

  • Do you all not get that he can go to the bottom part of the tank. It is like 3rd grade science at work and no one understands it.

  • How many gallons is it?

  • Did you personally build this fish tank?

  • Yeah, he needs air holes, though I know that would not allow for this type of tank. Also, the horizontal tank has no cover, so have you had accidents with him jumping out? They need lids as they're fantastic jumpers.

  • thats realy cool

  • I'm giveing you a 5 star earring for you video production but if i was to rate you according to you treatment of that bata I would give you -5 stars because that tank is not sutible for a bata.batas like shallower water and prefer to be in a more confined space they also like to be in takes with lots of foilage so get that poor bata out of this tank

  • @huffieboy1021 Bettas don't like shallower water, where did you hear that? And they LIKE confined spaces?! No offense, because I agree with you that the tnak is awesome but the betta care portion of it is bad, but where did you get your information, as those statements are not correct.

  • @MsYogaGrrrl betta actually do like shallow water maybe like 6-8inch or little more. This is because it make it easier for them to access oxygen on the top while they wander around the tank. But in order to keep a shallow water tank you must give it alot of room to swimming around. Most poeple have small tank for their betta so they got to fill it up to the top anyways since they dont got much space for the fish.

  • @huffieboy1021 you dont have a clue what you are talking about, -5 stars for you

  • Wow looks great but so weird.

  • Oh my gosh!! This is so beautiful yet, so stupid!!

  • This is not a good tank for the Betta, because it needs very much plants.

This tank is a NO GO!

  • Um, what is the point of this aquarium?

  • Its a bottomless fish tank, folks, look it up!!

Also that is really bad ass, I've seen these for bigger set ups, but never one for a betta, cudo!!

  • it's pretty, but bettas are known jumpers. i'd be afraid my Jareth would flop out and die

  • could you buy that tank???

  • what link???

  • This is actually very easy to do... ive done this with my aquarium before but did not like the appearance..

  • ur mean just one fish all alone give him a friend to fight with

  • @psychokid7 you cant have two fish together they will kill each other *bettas..

  • Actually in the wild bettas only breath using their labyrinth organ if they need to. My betta lives in a 5 gallon and next to never breaths using the top.

  • that is verry cool

  • can you send me the plans with dimentions to make one exactly like yours? .... where did you go for the supplies aswe? thanks...

  • the bettas need air!

  • @mickchick2020 He can swip to the lower tank for air

  • @MarineTechStore

Does this betta actually have the cognizance necessary to figure that out? I would think that instinct governed air breathing, not logic.

  • @MarineTechStore its brain is very small..

  • @mickchick2020 how does he breath in ther?

  • Holy shit, just give the betta a regular tank. The aquarium is supposed to somewhat replicate the real habitat. You're trying a teach the betta to go down instead of up for air.

  • and how does a regular tank replicate a padi field? Would you think you get overhangs on banks of streams and ponds? That’s the place fish like these hang out.

  • How does this work?

  • @BettaFishCare11 see

    youtube.com/watch?v=miAfNiVWjqw

  • Okay Smarty pants lol how the heck do you feed the fish?

  • what is the upper tank sat on by the way?

  • The lower tank

  • awsome i'll post a video respone if all goes well :D

  • what type of glass is it, what is the thickness of the glass and im going to build one if you tell me :D

  • 1/4" standard glass

  • and bamboo grows in fishtanks?

  • yes

  • what plant is that in with your fighter?

  • Bamboo

  • @MarineTechStore they are not fighters!!! they are bettas!!! stop calling them fighters thats really just not a name for a fish that u just judge! and yes its bamboo!

  • no air wldnt he die? they need to go up and gasp for air

  • Is it possible to buy this same exact setup (the fishtanks) from your store?

I can get the bamboo rocks and filter myself but the tanks are very impressive

  • Is it possible to buy this same exact setup (the fishtanks) from your store?

I can get the bamboo rocks and filter myself but the tanks are very impressive

  • how would ju feed it if its upside down

  • @demonwolf78956 the bottom is open u just feed it like norrmal the fish will learn that the bottom is open and that chamber is closed

  • if i were to buy this how would i keep the water in the top does stay on its own or how would that work

  • What are the dimensions on top and bottom tank? Is it really only 3 gallons?

  • @cfiore88

    Lower 12x9x5" (4.5" water depth)

Upper 6.5x4.5x10.5" (6" waterline to top)

    2.86gal

  • @MarineTechStore Thanks for the quick reply. I'm planning on building something similar to this one. Youtube user "Fishfreedom" has similar ones, but they're MUCH larger.

  • how does the betta breath?

  • @Bebo870 exactly wat i was thinking!!

  • @Bebo870 it goes down and comes up on the bottom tank.

  • Can i know how did u filled the top area with water ??? and

when u want to clean the top glass what will u do ?

and if the fish dead in the top area how can u get it out ??

  • @bkubba86 Click the link in the video to see how to drain, clean, and fill.

  • @bkubba86 this comment made me lol.

  • @bkubba86

    maybe a hole on top

  • Comment removed

  • @TheWolvaren1 A hole in the top of this tank would cause it to lose its vacuum, therefore overflowing water on the floor

  • Thats tight

  • Can't view them or purchase from your website?

  • Call 1-877-6MY-TANK to order

  • did the poor thing figure out it needs to go down and back up again to surface? <=[ Did it drown?

  • Still alive and kicking after 6 months.

  • Cool! =] It sounds like a really great tank then! =]

It's such a spectacular sight too! I think I'll get one when I get an apartment! =]

  • special Labyrinth organ, how does he get to breathe AIR

  • By surfacing at the lower part of the aquarium.

  • he needs to breathe his labyrinth

  • so is this only for bettas or any kind of fish?

  • any

  • Any fish thats suited to a 3gal aquarium, but no jumpers. We added an Otocinclus Cat a few weeks ago, he cleaned up all the algae from the stones.

  • @MarineTechStore bettas are jumpers. :)

  • is the bamboo still living

  • Yes, thriving.

  • Please tell me where you got this or if you made it how

  • We make them 877-669-8265

  • Please could you tell me exactly where I can get a 3 gallon tank like this?

  • We make them 877-669-8265

  • Can he swim out of the Tower?

  • Yes, if he wants.

  • Sweet!!! What a great tank for him!!!

  • Bettas need to breathe air from the surface, if you don't mind me asking, how would the betta know to come out from under the tower to get air? Wouldn't he suffocate? He needs air and there is no air in the tower..?

  • Bettas need oxygen not air. He gets his oxygen by passing water through his gills. If the water were to become polluted or very warm 82°F+ then he would supplement his oxygen intake by drawing air into his labyrinthiform organ. He seems to know his way around the tank quite well and to date he has not died.

  • retard betta breathe through there mouth

  • All fish breathe through 'their' mouths, what's your point?

  • they don't. most fish have gills. you have to arate the water for fish because they breath through there gills my passing water when theres oxygen i n the water bettas dont have egills

  • Betta don't have gills? I guess you learn something new every day.

  • Nah they do -_- they just breathe surface ait too ^^ (special organ), but he can get out os that tower right?
