  • @tntornadojpm they are fake nails he wears all the time, actually, you cant just throw a set of acrylic nails on and then take them off, they last for about a month at a time :)

  • One thing I've really taken from Antoine is really getting to know my guitar better. There are so many other sounds you can get out of it than just playing notes on the fretboard. Haha I spent a long time just smacking it to see what kind of percussive sounds I could get out of it. I don't think I'll ever get tired of listening to this music or trying to play it. It's so great (and unfortunately not as big as it should be)!

  • I don't mean to sound hippie about this but seriously Antoine is bringing positive vibes on all his songs. I can't listen to a single one without it bringing a smile to face or a tear to my eye. Just absolutely amazing and inspiring music and it has helped me through a lot. Thank you Antoine you are a talented guitarist and keep expressing that passion you have for music because you are certainly one of the greatest guitarists that has ever lived.

  • @jurv10 I agree that he is one of the greatest guitarist that has ever lived, but without being a dick, i dont know if i have another state of being but i dont get a tear to my eye, but on the other hand i do get passion of well being and inspiration on my writing on guitar.... i love this music :D

  • @spinlak The reason it looks like a mix between steel string and classical is because its not a dreadnought body style, like a lot of steel stringed acoustics are. Its probably an OM body style or something like that, which is more similar to the sizing of a classical nylon stringed guitar.

    Lots of people use different body styles for steel stringed guitars, you just dont see a lot of them on youtube :-)

It's to reduce extraneous noise from coming from the strings between the nut and the pegs. he's doing a lot of hammering in this piece with his left hand. This can cause the strings to vibrate between the nut and the peg, causing extra notes to sound.  The handkerchief dampens the strings so that they don't vibrate due to a hammer-on or pull-off.

  • @Adventuretk The pickups he uses are a huge part of translating the sound of his Beauregard to recording. He Uses the K&K pickups Trinity System. It has a condensor microphone as well as transistor pickups under the bridge.

  • @merc, what makes you think that he uses a backtrack on this? i can see every note that he is hitting all at once. sometimes alternate tunings can make it sound like there is more then one guitar. mos def no back track.

  • @Merc612 There is NO Backing track. THis style is called Fingerstyle where bass and melody is played with Thumb and Fingers.

    Just like piano playing (except they use two hands).

    The guitar really is an amazing instrument.

  • Antoine generally plays Stonebridge. Occasionally he'll break out a Larrivee.

  • @jd767982 Actually he doesn't play the stonebridge anymore and I haven't seen him on a Larrivee. He currently plays on 2 different Beauregard's. Very sweet guitars.
