@JacoTheSkunk it would feel amazing, considering you would feel like a guitarist :) so it wouldnt be a hassle after you make your guitar sing like a fucking bird for hours on in every day :)
@tntornadojpm they are fake nails he wears all the time, actually, you cant just throw a set of acrylic nails on and then take them off, they last for about a month at a time :)
One thing I've really taken from Antoine is really getting to know my guitar better. There are so many other sounds you can get out of it than just playing notes on the fretboard. Haha I spent a long time just smacking it to see what kind of percussive sounds I could get out of it. I don't think I'll ever get tired of listening to this music or trying to play it. It's so great (and unfortunately not as big as it should be)!
I don't mean to sound hippie about this but seriously Antoine is bringing positive vibes on all his songs. I can't listen to a single one without it bringing a smile to face or a tear to my eye. Just absolutely amazing and inspiring music and it has helped me through a lot. Thank you Antoine you are a talented guitarist and keep expressing that passion you have for music because you are certainly one of the greatest guitarists that has ever lived.
@jurv10 I agree that he is one of the greatest guitarist that has ever lived, but without being a dick, i dont know if i have another state of being but i dont get a tear to my eye, but on the other hand i do get passion of well being and inspiration on my writing on guitar.... i love this music :D
@spinlak The reason it looks like a mix between steel string and classical is because its not a dreadnought body style, like a lot of steel stringed acoustics are. Its probably an OM body style or something like that, which is more similar to the sizing of a classical nylon stringed guitar.
Lots of people use different body styles for steel stringed guitars, you just dont see a lot of them on youtube :-)
@foxtrotalex that makes it sound nice, but what you meant to say was, This is a Mario Beauregard Custom OM, witch is the product of one of (if not the) first of Ervin Somogyi's apprentices! This guitar is like the closest to a 30,000 dollar (minimum) Somogyi you could get! GET EXCITED!! :D
@Lemmonpuddin@laccept234 partly correct. It's to reduce extraneous noise from coming from the strings between the nut and the pegs. he's doing a lot of hammering in this piece with his left hand. This can cause the strings to vibrate between the nut and the peg, causing extra notes to sound. The handkerchief dampens the strings so that they don't vibrate due to a hammer-on or pull-off.
@Raquaable actually antoine dufour went to college for classical guitar, there one of his teachers introduced him to Don Ross' music... and the rest is history
I just figured it out...Don Ross must have written Robot Monster about Antoine...it really is the only explanation....maybe antoine is some sort of crazy human-robot hybrid...
