the maks is a creation of loki. the norse god of mischief, chaos in other words. and loki had placed all his powers and a bit of his personality in it so who ever wears becomes loki

i remember reading an analysis of some plotlines of the mask issues, isn't Cathy supposed to wear the mask somewhere in the first four issues? If not do you know which issue it's in?

Yeah, as far as I know she was wearing it shortly after Stanley had stolen it, but I don't any of the comics (damn), so I cannot say for sure.
