  • First time I've heard a different version of this song other than the live version. I still like the live version better, but I like this one too.

  • god these womens singing is absolutely tantalizing.

  • Beautiful song, i love scandinavian folk traditional music, unfortunatly unknown abroad...this music deserves to be as known as irish or celtic music...

  • i ordered the same bagpipe this band has :D

  • I love this musik : P

    Jag Alskar Schweden : )

  • This song will be played at my Asatru wedding!!!

  • @Starwanderer33 No, I meant folk music ROFLMAO! :O))))

  • @Elvinauk I guess there are lots at least in Sweden, the most obvious ones (for me): 'Ranarim', 'Garmarna', 'Väsen' and 'Hedningarna'. Hedningarna used to have two Finnish lady vocalists singing in Finnish - the mix was just great. Then the 'best' one, 'Gjallarhorn' from Finland, basing mostly on the tradition of Swedish speaking minority in Finland and Scandinavian material, with some Finnish trads added.

And Finland (not strictly Scandinavian) just reeks with ethno bands. Look e.g, 'Värttinä'.

  • @EneriGiilaan I really like Gjallarhorn already, thanks for the reply. I am still looking into all this music which stirs my soul and Germanic ancestory :O)

  • Lovely, I found them through watching Gjallarhorn vdeos. Is there a lot of folk in Sweden/Finland?

  • @Elvinauk If you're looking the right places we have a lot folk music, in scandinavia (:

  • I think it's swedish.

  • Hi! It's from the album "För yärlden älskar vad som är brokot".

  • Thanks! I will add this album to my "music I can't live without" list! ;)

  • I think Ranarim is my new favorite band

  • Roughly translated:

    Fog! "Iyaeh Iyaeh"

    High mountains and deep valleys

    It comes as you please

    High mountains and deep valleys

    It comes as you please

Come come, you little lad soon

We shall dance until the sun is shining clear

My lad, now we will dance us tired

    x2

  • High mountains and deep valleys The woods will follow nightingales High mountains and deep valleys The friend who me pleases Come come, my dearest love We shall dance until the morning is here The whole night until there is light Come let us dance us tired x2 High mountains and deep valleys Dark forest and wild borders The whole night around me floats It makes me a lovely dream
  • Come come, you little boy soon We shall dance until the sun is shining clear Hey ho, my lad Now we will dance us tired x2 Fog! "Iyaeh, iyaeh" Now we shall dance us tired chorus: High mountains and deep valleys It comes as you please chorus: High mountains and deep valleys High mountains and deep valleys chorus: It comes as you please
  • High mountains and deep valleys

    It comes as you please

    x2

Come come, you little lad soon

We shall dance until the sun is shining clear

My lad, now we will dance us tired

    Come come, my dearest love

We shall dance until the morning is here

The whole night until there is light

Come let us dance us tired

  • Thank you for posting the English translation...:) Could you please post the Swedish text as well? I would be very grateful if you did.:) I just can't find it on the internet, though I've searched for it many times.

  • Sure. It's not much effort anyway. Swedish lyrics:

    Dimma! "Iyaeh, Iyaeh"

    Höga berg och djupa dalar

    Kommer den som du behagar

    x2
