  • I shaved my head and now it's starting to grow out- about an inch high, inch and a half. How long does my hair need to be so I can start stretching it? Any maintenance tips for my short frizz?

  • @XelleohelleX It really just depends on the texture of your hair. It took awhile for me to achieve that lenth becausee my hair is very tightly coiled. I think my hair was about 6 inches before I could stretch it like that. Just play with it and see. Until you achieve the length, two strand twisting and blowing it out a little will suffice. Hope this helps...

  • Nice! I braid it at night...4 big cornrows...and pick it out in the morning! Luv it!

  • i meant for boys

  • What is the shea butter mix you make for your hair? I have one I make as a styling gel and one I can make as a moisturizer only.

  • Good advice, nice vid!

  • @EliaSparks Thanks!

  • I know I may sound stupid but whats "bc"

  • @EliaSparks bc stands for "big chop"

  • @EliaSparks dont worry wen i just started watching natural hair videos on youtube i was clueless as to wat was a twa or bc. so u dont sound stupid. so you not alone :-D. wen we dont know, we ask. i consider people who dont ask questions foolish.

  • My hair is long and silky curly at the top but the back is short and afroish.

  • great way to do it! thx

  • Great to see the 'fist' pick is still alive and well. LoL ! Love the hair, Sis.

  • Thanks!

  • Hey Sis,

Love your video format with the flip pics and rolling credits How did you do it?

    Thanks,

    Danielle

  • Hey Danielle! I used Windows Movie Maker to make this vid. If you have Windows on your computer, you should have that application.

  • my natural sisters out there, can u believe girls are still burnin they sscalp with relaxer? i used relaxers as a teen and still get a shiver when i remember the burn, the last time i did it, the lady didnt even finish the job aat the salon, i marathond to the sink!

  • Heyyyyyyyyyyyy, thats the same approach I use to keeping my hair soft, maintainable and fluffy. Glad to know Im not the only one who does that... what kind of products do you use?

My hair is about your lenght... its been about 11 months for me now :)

  • ok your hair wonderful, would love to have that much hair to work with. what is your hair curl type? how long did you transition before your bc

  • Honestly, I don't know how to determine my hair type i.e. 4a, 4b etc. It's very tightly coiled though so it took a long time for my length to show. I transitioned for 5 months before my bc.

  • I thought it was just me with the permanent part for a few days...lol Okay our hair looks really similar. I have a shot with some ouchless bands and the textures look the same.

  • your hair is so beautiful (didnt i say that already? lol) well it is. im not there yet buti look forward to actually having something to pull back. keep us updated.

  • oooh, i cant wait to rock a chunky fro next month. that's when I do my BC. Im so scuurrred but excited

  • Thanks, I hope it works for you!

  • Great vid and great music!!!

  • Thank you!

  • yes, thank you for the vid! nice fro'

  • Thanks!

  • Thanks for the vid! I love rockin' my fro, but it always shrinks up on me when i dampen it. Now I know what to do!

  • You're welcome. Whenever I find somehting that works I'm excited to share it with you guys :o)

  • Chunky fro looks really good on you. But on the real, i'm too lazy for all that streching stuff. I do big braids and that's all.

  • For me, twisting is faster than braiding, but braiding gives me more length. It just depends on what I have time for and the look I want to achieve.

  • Thanks for the tip! Don't you just hate shrinkage.

  • Girl, you know I do! I love showing my length.
