There is a great deal of sorrow in Ferras' playing of the Gavotte that I have never heard anywhere else. Heifetz is the only other violinist I have felt that from. Ferras truly has an incredible gift and I just wish he hadn't committed suicide so early in his life. RIP.
Really? I didn't get that so much from this...(well not before I read your comment anyways). It is certainly not as pretentiously charming as some other interpretations.
I've never heard this piece played so beautifully, and I've heard it quite alot.

Alot of his recordings have a TON of anger(some) and sorrow(ALOT) in them.
Like the second movement of the Sibelius!!! OH my that's makeing me cry every time

This is amazing, I never knew Ferras was such a great Bach interpreter. Somebody posted a video of the prelude btw.
