@railpressureflip He does speak good english. Yes he has an Indian accent, not surprising though, how he's an Indian brought up in India an all. Dumb arse.
I watch this alot. I produce and being tamil theres not much people to look up to because all of the other producers are very old fashioned. Ar is an amazing inspiration to me.
yeah i have this library.. ivory 2, just got it yesterday, have not explored it yet.. will write my views on it soon.. also try the Steinberg's The Grand 2.. great grand piano app..
yeah, its a multi purpose keyboard and the sampling feature is one of its highlights.. but i wonder if its a semi weighted or synth action.. hope its semi weighted.. can't be fully weighted though..
@rjk1482 sure man.. i have maudio axiom 49, just got it last month.. i also have cmr pro 88 hammer touch.. besides.. i use a presonus inspire and audio box.. use studio one daw, trying it out.. don't have a mac, wanna get one and then will try logic.. i also experiment on ableton, reason or fl studio sometimes.. and genelecs..
@getakshat That sounds like a really good setup. Did you mean CME and not cmr? I also have a motif actually, but I've still not figured out the best way to use it with my existing setup. The only thing Im missing I think is a good mic preamp, which I think will solve my motif hook up issue. Do you play professionally?
@rjk1482 yeah its CME (typo).. what sound interface you using? i think besides a preamp, near field monitors are also very important.. infact most important.. room acoustics too.. well, i used to play professionally, but not as studio professional but as performer. now a days just messing with softwares and music compositions..
@getakshat I'm using the apogee duet which is quite amazing and for monitors I use the yamaha hs80m speakers that are reasonably good. I'm not very happy with my room acoustics at all though. I have to keep changing my desk setup to adjust the stereo field and the peripherals at the right height to optimize on ergonomics and acoustics. Sometimes its very frustrating.
@rjk1482 i have made homemade acoustic solutions and its movable too.. a ply board at back support around 1.5feet by 1.5 and made a pin board railing on sides and put glasswool and RP paper on it and sealed it with cloth. And made about 20 such boards and spread them on walls.. and a carpet on floor.. makes the difference. My experiment was successful and i want to make more such traps.. but i am not happy with base reduction.. besides i don't have a sub woofer so not a complete studio yet..
@getakshat - Hmm..Adam maybe?...Is he using the roland as a midi keyboard? or as audio input? I think its midi, because the regions record as green (audio records in blue) but I may be wrong. If its midi, then thats a lovely piano sound hes got there and I wonder which library that comes from.
@rjk1482 synthology ivory is by far one of the best piano libraries ever made.. i suspect its a yamaha or adam monitor may be as the yamaha or adams have a base went in front.. genelecs don't as per my research..
not sure about it being a midi or audio input via that keyboard.. but i think thats either semi weighted or synth action keyboard..
@getakshat - Yeah! I've heard too. Do you have the library? I'm planning on getting Ivory 2 and would like to know if it will be a good purchase.
Also, if you look for images of the roland G series keyboards, you'll see it very closely resembles what he's playing - the orange lights are the pads, and the blue light is i think the skip back sampling feature on the roland.
