  • The Ornstein and Smough music is pretty damn epic too. Suits the fight.

  • Sakuraba wrote the score for Dark Souls? Never would've guessed. Gotta give him props though, the music fits the game's mood perfectly and really adds to the tension of fighting the (mostly) really tough bosses.

  • @SupraDarky Oh you really should play this game, its a beautiful masterpiece of concept, atmosphere and feeling.

  • DARK SOULS!!

    -MikeNnemonic

  • Brilliant song. If only I could be so grossly incandescent.

  • Reminds me of a certain Way of the Samurai 3 track I think.

  • I won't spoil it, but the last boss music is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard in a video game. Oh god...

    Praise the Sun!

  • Your going to love Dark Souls.

  • Great choice this game is amazing , By the way it's a very good feeling the first time you see this boss because he is very impressive and badass

  • Playing both this and Skyrim intermittently, anb being completely honest, both are great, but I do lean a bit more towards a little 'Jolly Co-operation.'

You should play Dark Souls, its too good to miss out on.

  • It makes sense that people on a dark souls ost vid are saying they prefer Dark Souls, but to set the record straight, a bunch of Japanese people trying their best to make a game as hard as possible and get away with it have not achieved as much as Skyrim has.

  • @robbyalp Reducing Dark Souls to just difficulty is not setting the record straight, not in the least. Dark Souls feels more fulfilling mechanically than any game I can remember in the past few years. Skyrim gives a great feeling of freedom and is a great game in it's own right.

Also, saying "a bunch of Japanese people trying their best" is very patronizing.

  • @bogulmon I know. I would say the game patronized me more than I ever could back though. It is a very well made game in some areas, and I did try to enjoy it, but it felt a lot worse than demons souls somehow, especially if you didn't go online for help. There' s a new patch that has helped though, apparently. And I agree the mechanics in Skyrim aren't always as satisfying.

  • Currently playing this; one of the best game ever, IMO. And great music.

  • Pretty much all of the boss music is amazing from this game.

  • This game is epic people are just complaining about how hard it is well i say think before you act watch what happens don't just go in sword swinging, wait and watch and think that the best thing to do if you keep at this game its really rewarding beating a boss that killed you many times then finally kicking its ass.

  • I suck at this game. In fact, I want to just hate it completely cause of how hard it is, but if there's one thing I love, it's epic boss fights, and if there's one thing this game has, it's epic fucking boss fights

  • This game has some of the best music i have ever heard.

  • you've totally spoiled yourself then Darky by listening to the soundtrack and knowing anything about the bosses. for me, i was in a forest and walked through a foggy gate not knowing what was beyond there, and to my surprise, it was a massive sword-wielding wolf. and the music was there and it was epic.

you have now lost that surprise.

  • @ItsFizikal All I know about this game is from a couple screenshots when I checked some previews, including the one in this video. So I already knew there was a giant wolf boss, though I didn't know he wielded a sword. ;P I'm sure the game will have plenty of surprises waiting for me.

  • @ItsFizikal

    bastard, you just spoiled it!

lets see if i can forget what i just read when i get the game...

  • Haha, nice, i wanted to see this song in your list, and there it is. The fight against the wolf is so epic, and the music fits perfectly.

  • this was such a sad fight... this game is truly a masterpiece

  • One of the best games ever.

  • The final boss theme is even better. Hope he'll be on the list :p

  • Wow, definitely sounds like something I'd expect to hear from a game called "Dark Souls".

  • this boss reminded me of the film Princess Mononoke. Soundtrack to this game is incredible, i love all the songs.

  • Want a massive world, story and freedom? Skyrim.

Want deep combat, challenge, and amazing soundtrack? Dark Souls.

Want a massive world, deep combat, challenge, story, freedom, and amazing soundtrack? Skyward Sword.

  • @Arc13

Challenge + Zelda = does not compute.

  • @FunkyKarim93 You've never played 2D Zeldas have you? Plenty of entries in the series have had challenge before. If you mean 3D Zelda + Challenge then yes, it's a shocker, but the enemies and puzzles and such aren't push overs. They aren't mind bogglers, don't think I mean anything really hard, but it's not laughably easy, you have to think for at least a second before you get it, like in an average games difficulty(i.e it's not Mario difficult anymore)

  • And people thought Sakuraba only knew how to make super synthesized battle music.

  • @FinalDivineDragoon

Who though that? Obviously somebody that hasn't listened to any one complete OST from his works.

  • but dark souls is haaaaard

  • That fighting scene against the giant wolf is just epic *.*

  • Dark Souls and Skyrim are two freaking different TYPES of games, both are awesome, don't assume your opinion is the truth, it's just a matter of personal taste. And again, i love both games, but they are completely different kinds of games, and you don't expect the same from each one.

  • @narolas Thank you for being the voice of logic here.

  • Dark Souls owns Skyrim anytime. This is the real thing.

  • I agree dark souls is better in my opinion. And by the way Gywn Lord of Cinder track is preety good as well.

  • demon's souls is better =P

  • Moonlight Butterfly theme is great too... really disconcerting, not a typical boss theme at all and really makes you uneasy when fighting the boss! lol

  • "What'chu lookin' at, fool?"

  • Nothing to say about this track, just great quality

  • This is probably the game I'll be playing after Skyward Sword. I find the soundtrack by Sakuraba really interesting, and you wouldn't think a track like this would play during a fight against a giant wolf. At first it might not seem like it would work, but I'm sure it makes it all quite beautiful and memorable.

  • @SupraDarky Do it, man. I'm in the minority here, but I personally think Dark Souls is a much better game than Skyrim.

  • @LocoJoe I kind of ruined Skyrim for myself after playing Dark Souls. I just find the combat really underwhelming and easy compared to Dark Souls.

  • @JoJarJam Well... play on master ;) U need much more tactics^^

  • @MayCry555 I have the difficulty set up to expert, and I still find it really quite dull. Stealth is perhaps just offensive, as the enemies will have trouble finding you even if you have just shot them with an arrow and you are right beside them. I will admit that the use magic has been improved since Oblivion, and that the dual wielding system is quite nice, I still never really felt connected when I was in combat.

  • @LocoJoe i have to agree dark souls is more fun to play cause of its combat machanics but skyrim does have the whole random loot thing going on so there both good games :D

  • @LocoJoe I have and enjoyed what I played of Dark Souls, I got roughly to Lost Izalith I think? However, I'm just curious as to what you think Dark Souls has over Skyrim as I can't seem to see it. It seems like a more old fashioned and sort of...linear game, outdated if you will but it adds to how unique it is, and how great it is. I'm not bashing Dark Souls, I really like it and I do intend to finish it soon.

  • @AdeyAdey The gameplay. How unforgiving the game is. The unique multiplayer. And I feel that everything flows so much better in this game than in Skyrim. And I love Bethesda, I played the fuck out of both Fallout games and I even enjoyed playing Brink, but I'm honestly disappointed in what I've seen of the game.

  • @LocoJoe i agree pal, i have skyrim sitting here in my computer, but i am hooked by the balls, and Dark souls doesn't want to let go

  • @LocoJoe Why even compare them? They're about two completely different things.

  • @utbunny they're both fantasy action/RPG games.

  • @utbunny Because some people get off on "being in the minority". Anything to feel unique.

  • @LocoJoe why =D?

  • @SupraDarky do it man, you WILL NOT be disappointed, and btw check this song out(Gwyn, Lord of Cinder ), last boss's theme, such a beautiful piano piece, for such a brutal, relentless battle
